The villa has an open style architecture with several indoor and outdoor seating areas, as well as indoor and outdoor dining areas.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and en suite bathroom with double sinks & bidet. Spacious bedrooms #2 and #3 have two double beds each with en suite bathrooms, and bidets. Cozy bedroom #4 has two double beds which can be adjoined, a private bathroom, and it opens to an enclosed private patio. All bedrooms have air-conditioning with individual remote controls, ceiling fans, as well as cable television.
About 5 minutes walking distance from the ocean, Los Lagos #100 is located on the first street parallel to the resort's private beach. Centrally located, one can easily get around by golf cart.
The staff is the heart of our home and Romy, the head person and cook, has been with our family for over 20 years. She is assisted by two other staff, to help make your stay a relaxing and enjoyable one. Spanish is their first language, but they understand and speak some English as well as Italian and French. Most importantly, they are eager to please you so it is important to communicate your wishes to them.
Our staff provides daily maid service, grounds keeping and pool maintenance, as well as meal preparation and service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional hours can be easily arranged for a nominal charge.
Although groceries are not included, Romy is quite competent to shop for you if you provide a list and money (she will give you the receipts) and/or accompany you to market, if you so desire.
We and most guests enjoy Romy's creative menus and we encourage you to experience them. This being said, she is also extremely happy to take direction for any specific meal preparation or requests you may have.
Casa de Campo is considered by many as the Caribbean's most complete resort. 7,000 acres contain four Pete Dye golf courses; tennis courts; polo club and equestrian center; world class shooting center; water sports, beaches and boat excursions; fitness center and spa; and a vibrant Marina with cinemas, restaurants and shops. Altos de Chavon is a replica of a 16th century Mediterranean village in the resort providing a cultural and artistic hub, an Amphitheater for live shows, as well as more restaurants, bars, shops and night clubs. The main area of the hotel has been recently renovated providing more restaurants, shops & activities (see the resort's website for more details).
The resort is a gated community and an admittance and usage fee is required for guests residing in private villas (versus resort operated) upon arrival. About Olga Valdes Skidmore
My husband and I are both from the Dominican Republic and have resided in the United States since 1957, living in Maryland since 1963. As a matter of fact, I spent much of my youth in La Romana as my father was the physician for what is today the Central Romana Sugar Corporation - today's owner of Casa de Campo.
In the mid-1970's while vacationing with our girls in La Romana we learned of the vision for Casa de Campo (translation: Country House) and decided to purchase lots. We eventually built the the villa in Los Lagos and have remained there through the many changes the resort and town has experienced. We chose the spot because of its central location and have remained there because of it. I suppose after all these years our only regret was not buying oceanfront property at the time!
Olga Valdes Skidmore purchased this villa in 1985
Why Olga Valdes Skidmore chose Casa De Campo
We chose this property because of all of the activities offered within a secure community, where our children were safe and free to move unsupervised. This gated community has an impressive high level of security for its residents and guests and there is no public access and no through traffic.
All said, the dependable weather, the wonderful international crowd, and sheer beauty of the land and its people made it an easy decision for us.
What makes this villa unique
We've always been blessed by being surrounded by good people - and, today, I would say that the care and attention from our staff makes a visit to our villa a very special experience. It is said that the most wonderful aspect of our island is its people - they teach us that if you 'go with the flow' that everything is possible.
