Villa Conti is owned by an Anglo/Italian who lived in Wales for 40 years, before he changed his lifestyle and started to live his Italian experience of owing a vineyard with olive trees and making wine and olive oil. Villa Conti is for whoever is in search of relaxation and is for rent for short or long periods of time. Villa Conti is located a short walk from the edge of the town. The modern style house is on two floors. The upstairs has two double bedrooms, a reading area with a selection of books in English and Italian language, a toilet/shower room and a large terrace and balcony that goes all around the house, making it the ideal place to take in the stunning local scenery from all directions or for sunbathing. The downstairs has one bedroom with a double sofa bed plus four bunk beds, a toilet/bathroom, a kitchen and walk-in pantry, and a huge lounge/dining room that can accommodate up to 18 people. Villa Conti is for relaxing and sport.
This was our second family vacation to Villa Conti, the first being a six and half week stay in 2012. I am pleased to report that there have been many improvements to the Villa. The paint has been freshened up, both inside and outside. Paul has installed a commercial grade refrigerator/freezer, and relocated the washing machine to a more convenient location under the kitchen counter.
We found some things that had not changed in the last two years: the village of Riardo is still a quiet, welcoming place utterly devoid of tourists. The local people remained friendly and very forgiving of my poor language skills. We found everything we needed within a few minutes of the villa.
Paul and Nora were very helpful with advice about the best local restaurants and places to shop. We did not want for anything. Their advice about local shopping, customs and points of interest were invaluable.
Our day trips from the Villa included trips to Capri, Ischia, Caserta Castle, Casertavecchia, Pompeii , Herculaneum and the Naples Archeological Museum. We also visited Rome, including the Catacombs, Via Appia and Rome wall.
Again, it is without reservation that I recommend Villa Conti to you. I believe that it is an excellent value, well located and very restful. I will again stay there upon my return to Italy.
We booked this Villa so that we could attend a family wedding in a nearby village. We were so happy to find this Villa in a beautiful location and extremely quiet. The villa is clean and well equipped. We were able to sit by the pool and enjoy a relaxing week to unwind after a busy wedding.
A car is essential, although there is a large local supermarket nearby and Paulo has an excellent fridge- freezer to store lots of fresh food and wine.
I would return and recommend to my friends. Paulo was always a phone call away if we needed him.
Thank you for our lovely week in your Villa.
Debbie and Keith
As our first trip to Italy, we were looking for a relaxing holiday in a nice location with access to the sights of Rome, Pompei and the area. What we got was an oasis of peace with its own pool. What an oasis it is, beautifully presented spacious and without fault at all, Paulo has groomed Villa Conti to be a private villa, with easy access to the quaint little village of Riardo that offers you everything you could possibly need to be more than comfortable. The surroundings and the villa itself is breathtaking in beautiful grounds that are immaculately tended to, giving you more than enough privacy and space whether you are a small family of 3 like us or a bigger group. The villa and its grounds notwithstanding, what made our holiday complete was Paulo's attention to customer care, we never had to ask for anything and his advice, support and recommendations were faultless. In a country where we honestly had very little in the way of language skills he made sure we were able to get out and see what we wanted to without feeling uncomfortable or out of our depth. What you see in the pictures cannot convey how fantastic this place is, comfortable, in amazing surrounding and whilst the pictures are great it is better in reality. I have to say, I cannot fault anything about the location, the villa and grounds or Paulo, I would like to just say "Thank You" for giving us the best introduction to Italy, I would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Conti to anyone and will definitely be taking up Paulo and Eleanora on their hospitality again without a doubt. If you are in any doubt make an enquiry, Paulo will ring you and answer any questions or concerns.
Thank you Paolo for a fantastic Italian holiday!
We booked the villa because it gave us a good base for visiting our Italian relatives as well as see the sights (Pompeii, Amalfi, Salerno, Pozzuoli...) We didn't expect the villa to be so impressive! The bedrooms were lovely (plenty of room, clean and tidy, plenty of storage) ; the grounds were amazing and we were very grateful for the shade from the trees as it was very hot in mid August! The pool was brilliant - instant cool down with spectacular views of the grape vines, olive trees and the surrounding hills. The children spent hours and hours in the water and we bought a few inflatables for them to play with.
The little town of Riardo is lovely. It's in walking distance from the villa and people are very friendly. (We had to visit the pharmacist during our stay and she was very helpful, so was the guy at the tabaccaia who sorted us out with stamps and batteries!) There is a brilliant supermarket 5 mins drive away where we got all our supplies at a very reasonable price. We also ate out a few times and there are some lovely pizzerias in and around Riardo. Paolo was brilliant at showing us the best places to eat, drink and shop.
We would certainly recommend the villa to anyone and hope to go again one day. We rented a car so that we could explore the area and that worked well.
Definitely worth booking!!
The Ferullo family
I stayed here for two weeks with 7 other family members. The villa was nicely furnished, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The pool was a highlight of our holiday as was watching the sunset from the terrace.
The local area had a good range of amenities and Eleonora helpfully showed us to the nearest supermarket which was only a few mnutes drive away. The local pizzeria provided us with many a good evening meal!
Eleonora's local knowledge proved to be invaluable and thanks to her we had some memorable days out. From the villa we were able to visit Pompei, Naples, Rome and Sorrento. The island of Ventotene (by ferry from Formia) was also beautiful and enabled us to see some spectacular views of Italy's coast.
We all agree that we had a fantastic holiday here and didn't want to leave!
I booked the Villa Conti for a family vacation of almost 6 weeks during October and the first part of November, 2012. Some 21 family members visited during our almost 6 week stay. Every single one rated the Villa as fantastic or better.
The Homeaway description was very accurate, even understated. We found the amenities to be as described, even better.
The location proved to be ideal - we were able to make day trips to Roma, Pompeii, Naples, Caserta and the Almalfi Coast quite easily using a combination of auto and public transportation.
The property was clean, well maintained and linens changed on schedule. When the wash machine developed a small leak, Paulo replaced it promptly with a new, high end machine.
Paulo and Eleonora provided simply superb service. They provided us with all our needs and took care of our wants as well. Their insight into the local amenities proved invaluable and they offered many tips that enhanced our stay. For example, Paulo suggested that we visit the Caserta area, to include Caserta Vecchia. The visit to this medieval village proved to be one of the highlights of our stay in Italy. Their suggestions about local Pizzerias, Ristorantes and Bars was very insightful. They were dead on in their assessment of the local cuisine. Eleonora arranged a couple of cooking classes for our family - providing another highlight of our stay. Hopefully, we will be able to replicate her efforts - which were absolutely wonderful!
We found the people of Riardo to be very friendly (and very forgiving of my broken Italian, unused for 40 odd years) and polite.
It is without any reservation whatsoever that I recommend this property. We found the village of Riardo to be very restful and quiet. I believe that we were the only tourists in the village. It is our intention to book this property upon our return to Italy.
The historic town of Riardo is situated in the Province of Caserta in the Italian region of Campania, located about 50 km. north of Naples and about 25 km. north of Caserta. Its population is about 2,500. Riardo is particularly famous for two things: its internationally acclaimed mineral waters, called Ferrarelle and Sant' Agata, and it's medieval Castle that rises up on a hill in the centre of the town, dominating the beautiful landscape. The town rises to about 150 metres above sea level, so in the summer it avoids suffering from sweltering heat, whilst at the same time enjoying temperature that exceed 30 centigrade.
