Welcome to my home with a name: Adobe Alegre, 'Happy Adobe'; a name given to this home by family and friends that have stayed. A genuinely special place high up in the very desirable Cathedral City Cove. Swim, hike, entertain, golf, or just relax and unwind. MAXIMUM RENTAL 28 DAYS.

This exceptionally comfortable 2 bedroom home features two suites. The upstairs master suite features a custom built Cal King bed, made from a 100 year old wooden gate from the far east, a complete bathroom with slate tile and large walk in closet. Just outside the master suite is the upper relaxation area with fantastic views across the Coachella valley. The smaller downstairs suite features a Cal King arts and crafts mission bed and walk in closet. The entire lower level is wonderful saltillo tile with berber carpet upstairs. And the house is beautifully finished. No white walls anywhere. Even the garage is tiled and stuccoed.

The kitchen is ready for the most demanding gourmet chef or casual cook. Featuring dark granite counter-tops, a GE Monogram dual fuel stove with infra-red warmer, wine fridge, convection microwave, blender, coffee maker and every thing else you should need. Then get ready to enjoy the large antique dining room table with 8 chairs. Seat yourself and your guests using the bamboo place-mats, dansk china and cloth napkins. Or dine al fresco at the poolside outdoor teak table.

The living room features a Pottery Barn queen sofa sleeper with an 8' thick mattress, wood burning fire place and 42' flat screen TV. There's a computer/ blue ray player (with a huge library) and high speed WiFi that even works outside.

Outside is where you'll be most. Relax in the salt water pool. Or enjoy the bubble jets in the separately heat-able spa. Surrounded by giant bamboo, ficus and plumeria, you'll can relax and do as you wish in utter privacy and peace. Enjoy watching the resident hummingbirds. Because of it's prime northern exposure, you can choose sun or shade almost every afternoon.

The Cathedral City Cove is uniquely settled up in the Santa Rosa mountains conveniently located just off hwy 111 between Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. It's well known for its star gazing (there's no street lights allowed!) and incredibly quiet, peaceful nights. Hiking is a popular pastime as the cove sits adjacent to easily accessible trails that are lined with native cactus, smoke trees and fragrant wild desert sage. I've only owned 3 homes in my life. And with 'Adobe Alegre' it was the same; i knew within 30 seconds of entering this home I wanted to live there. You'll be immediately impressed by it's good looks and smart layout. And I know it's impossible to quantify, but everyone that stays says the house simple drips in good karma.

What makes this house unique

Located high up in Cathedral City Cove, it's the peaceful, beautiful house I always wanted. The result of a 5 year wait and search, I'm glad I did. Sometime when I'm there I don't even go out. Just relax in the private back yard or relax by the fire in cooler weather. The Cove itself is freakishly quiet at night. You can hear a dog bark 3 blocks away. And the owls calling. If you're looking for a place to party and make noise you should look elsewhere.

What a gem!

We spent a week at the Adobe and had such a wonderful time. The house is beautifully decorated and has high-end amenities. The stove is amazing as is the pool and hot tub. My mother-in-law slept on the sofa bed and found it quite comfortable. The home is stocked with plenty of towels, the fridge had a lot of everyday condiments that we were able to use, and overall everything was just about perfect. The backyard is smartly built so that the "porch" stays shaded and the pool is in the sun. The deck off the upstairs was outstanding with beautiful views. We definitely hope to return...

Family Vacation!!

This Place was awesome! Great quiet neighborhood, and the house had everything we wanted. The gourmet kitchen is well stocked with the basics you need, and the grill was great. The backyard is thoughtfully designed, and the salt water pool/hot tub are great. We stayed with our two young kids, and had a great time.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this spectacular, relaxing, accommodating home. We were both in big need of a "get-away", and this home did not disappoint. Everything about it met our needs. Loved the pool, hot tub, seclusion, quietness, views, decor, hospitality, etc. etc. It's close to downtown Palm Springs. (Which, btw, they have a fabulous Uber ride system here!) I really could go on and on about this home. The owner was very communicative, prompt in answering any questions or concerns. Staying a little late on check out day was no problem. I can't wait until we can visit this home again.

Quiet Getaway

Roomy house tastefully furnished; well-equipped kitchen; luxurious beds. Perks include secluded, landscaped yard with pool, hot tub, and patio; second-floor sundeck, separate bathroom for each bedroom; quiet street in quiet residential neighborhood. Enjoyed our stay. Only drawbacks: high-tech thermostat difficult to program and adjust; housecleaning overlooked a few items, including thorough dusting and emptying clothes washer and dryer.

Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful

This spacious house is in a great neighborhood. Great for walking your dog, running or just a great walk. I always feel safe. The bedrooms are super spacious and beds are wonderfully large and comfortable. The house is beautifully decorated making it inviting and easy to entertain or just relax. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook. The back yard has a great pool and grass.
