Estes Park Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom. Comfortable, clean, perfect location. View from deck.

Elk Cottage is truly our “home away from home”. This quiet, three bedroom, historic cottage is a short walk to downtown Estes Park. The knotty pine interior is warm and cozy with all the modern necessities. Enjoy views of the Stanley Hotel and Twin Owls from the deck off the master bedroom. Avoid parking hassles by parking at “home” and enjoy the views of the valley as you walk just 3 blocks to the downtown center, which also has a free shuttle bus (seasonal), that takes you everywhere in the Estes Valley. Grocery store is only ½ mile away. There will be Elk and other wildlife viewing opportunities. Peaceful residential street with several homes built in the 1920’s. This home will be perfect for vacationers who want to relax and enjoy Estes Park charm, and be close to restaurants and shops in a homespun atmosphere. It is a quaint and uniquely Estes Park cabin in town. You can even take the shuttle (summer) to Rocky Mountain National Park if you desire to ride and not drive, however, if you prefer to drive into the Park it is a short, easy access to both Park entrances.

In the summer enjoy your coffee on the deck or grill dinner on the barbeque. The fun in the Estes Valley is limitless. Staying in our “home away from home” you can be a visitor and a resident at the same time. Best of both worlds! You can do all of this without starting your car if you wish.

In the autumn enjoy the changing trees, the elk rut and migration through the valley, Scottish festival, Elk Fest, and some really great sales in the shops! Thanksgiving Holiday brings out the picturesque Holiday lights and decorations as well as a Catch the Glow Holiday parade the day after Thanksgiving. A truly heartwarming way to start the Season!

There is simply no better place to spend Christmas than this quaint, beautifully decorated mountain village. Winter is a fantastic time to visit Estes Park. It is quiet and peaceful and there are many things to do in the area such as snow shoeing, sledding, ice skating, playing in the snow, and enjoying a warm meal in the restaurants. January brings the Winter Festival which is something worth checking out.

Spring brings with it the newborn Elk calves and migration through the valley again. All in all, there are just no ends to the things to do in the Estes Park Valley…..oh and did I mention hiking and exploring in Rocky Mountain National Park? This home offers a close and convenient access to all amenities in the Estes Valley.

Please allow us to welcome you to our “home away from home”.

About Becky Sorensen

We are natives of Colorado and love spending time in the mountains. We have raised three wonderful daughters and have 6 grandchildren. Living in Estes Park for several years was some of the best years of our lives. We presently live in Arvada, Colorado. We plan to move back to Estes Park in a few years. Estes Park is a great community for visitors or residents. Come and create some great memories!

Becky Sorensen purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Becky Sorensen chose Estes Park

We purchased this property because of it's unique Estes Park charm and history. Built in the 1920's it is cozy and warm but with all the modern conveniences of today. Updated but retains the 'cabin' feel that we love.

What makes this cottage unique

The location of this property is perfect for enjoying the Park, beautiful scenic drives, or the many other Estes Valley activities. Close enough to walk or shuttle to almost anywhere in the area, including Rocky Mountain National Park. Quick and convenient access by car to activities. The deck off the kitchen and master bedroom has a great view of the Stanley Hotel and Lumpy Ridge. We have sat there many days and watched elk and deer grazing in the yard. The knotty pine interior is beautiful and creates a warm atmosphere.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Perfect! That's all I have to say.We had a great weekend. It's like home away from home. Went to the Stanley for a ghost tour and ghost stories for our daughter's 13th birthday. She and her friends can't wait to come back. I love the coziness of the your place. I want to come back in the summer. Going back to Colorado Springs and the city life. Thank you for everything.

.These girls are forever friends with "Scary Mary".

Quaint cottage conveniently located

  • 4 of 5
This cottage was in an ideal location to walk downtown Estes (with effort!) including restaurants, to the large grocery and would also work for catching the shuttle if you don't mind a nice walk or short drive. It sleeps up to 6 but only having one bath makes it more suitable for 4. The kitchen is nicely equipped and beds are comfortable. We really liked the enclosed deck and ability to have our pets but the backyard is very small (good enough) and the small building behind is a bit intrusive. The cottage has not been fully updated but that's part of the charm. We saw so many elk, mule deer and even black bears from our front door. The owner (Becky) was very responsive and accommodating.

Owner's Response: The shuttles are limited this time of year. They only run seasonally and are very close to the cottage in the summertime. As is stated in the description, they are seasonal. I have found everyone, knowing before they rent, that one bathroom works well and there are actually beds for 7 guests. I am so glad you found the beds comfortable and enjoyed the cottage deck.

Great Location

Elk Cottage was perfect for our four day stay in Estes Park for a wedding. It was clean and a great location. I appreciate Becky's willingness to allow us to check in early due to a family event.

Owner's Response: I understand there was an issue with the satellite dish. I was not informed about it and could not take care of it. Things do need attention at times and I am very quick to respond and fix any issue if it is brought to my attention. I regret it caused a 4 instead of 5 star rating. I would have made it right for the guest.

Cozy Mountain Home, Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed here a couple weeks ago for a quick weekend getaway from Fort Collins. We have 2 kids (5 years and 2 years) and a golden retriever who all joined us. We were very impressed with this house and hope to stay again next time we are in Estes. The location is perfect, about a 5 minute walk from the main street in Estes. From the main street you can access restaurants, shopping, parks, etc..., so that was very convenient.

The house is very cozy, it was just what we had in mind for a house in the mountains. The house is pretty snug, but perfect for a family of 4, especially since you are outside most of the time in Estes. There is a nice deck and backyard which was great for our dog to explore. You can see the mountains and the Stanley Hotel from the deck, its a nice spot to have a coffee in the morning or a cold beer in the evening. Our kids really enjoyed the movies that were available and some of the kids toys/books. They loved the bunk bed as well.

The service was also very impressive. Becky was very helpful and accommodating. We locked ourselves out one afternoon and Becky returned our voice mail within a couple minutes and helped us solve the problem.

This is a great find in Estes and I definitely recommend it!

Our mountain home!

  • 5 of 5
I miss this house and Colorado already! We loved Estes park what a beautiful area. The rental property was beyond what we expected with fresh towels, and plenty of toiletries. I loved the mountain decor, and the view off the deck was amazing. We stayed with another couple and it was plenty big for the four of us. It is convenient that you can walk to town. Very close access to Rocky Mountains. We saw elk during our stay, and a bear with her two cubs near the town center! I cannot wait to visit Colorado again and highly recommend this cottage to visitors.

We couldn't have asked for anything more with this cozy cottage. Spectacular views of the mountains and Stanley hotel and short walk to downtown. Becky makes her self readily available if there are any questions or concerns. Games and movies were a nice surprise after a long 15 hour drive from Wisconsin. Wifi and cable TV kept the kids entertained in our downtime. I thoroughly enjoyed the abundant books and brochures on the history of Estes Park that were in the cottage. We had a great time!

Great Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
We had such a wonderful experience at the Elk Cottage. Everything was so convenient for a family get-together. The location was perfect. Close to grocery shopping and close to all the shopping and restaurants of Estes Park, but still nearby the Rocky Mountain National Park. The cottage is bright and cheery with all the necessities for both adults and children. We will be returning for another family reunion in November.
