Photos and Description of the Estes Park vacation cottage rental
Home Away from Home

This truly is our “home away from home”. This three bedroom, quiet, historic cottage is a short walk to downtown Estes Park. Everything you need is located just blocks away. The knotty pine interior is warm and cozy with all the modern necessities. Enjoy views of the Stanley Hotel and Twin Owls from the deck off the master bedroom. Avoid parking hassles by parking at “home” and enjoy the views of the valley as you walk just 3 blocks to the downtown center. Walk just 3 blocks to pick up the free shuttle bus (seasonal), which takes you everywhere in the Estes Valley. Groceries are only ½ mile away. There will be Elk and other wildlife viewing opportunities. Peaceful residential street with several homes built in the 1920’s. This home will be perfect for family or friends that want to relax and enjoy Estes Park charm, and be close to restaurants and shops in a homespun atmosphere. It is a quaint and uniquely Estes Park cabin in town. You can even take a shuttle (summer)to Rocky Mountain National Park if you want. If you would rather drive into the Park it is an easy and short access from “home”.

In the summer enjoy your coffee on the deck or grill dinner on the barbeque. The fun in the Estes Valley is limitless. Staying in our “home away from home” you can be a visitor and a resident at the same time. Best of both worlds! You can do all of this without starting your car if you wish.

In the autumn enjoy the changing trees, the elk rut and migration through the valley, Scottish festival, Elk Fest, and some really great sales in the shops! Thanksgiving Holiday brings out the picturesque holiday lights and decorations as well as a Catch the Glow Holiday parade the day after Thanksgiving. A truly heartwarming way to start the Season!

There is simply no better place to spend Christmas than this quaint, beautifully decorated mountain village. Winter is a fantastic time to visit Estes Park. It is quiet and peaceful and there are many things to do in the area such as snow shoeing, sledding, ice skating, playing in the snow, and enjoying a warm meal in the restaurants. January brings the Winter Festival which is something worth checking out.

Spring brings with it the newborn Elk calves and migration through the valley again. Memorial weekend offers art and antique shows, among many other things to do. All in all there are just no ends to the things to do in the Estes Park Valley…..oh and did I mention hiking and exploring in Rocky Mountain National Park? This home offers a close and convenient access to all amenities in the Estes Valley.

Please allow us to welcome you to our “home away from home'.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2005
Why The Owner chose Estes Park

We purchased this property because of it's unique Estes Park charm and history. Built in the 1920's it is cozy and warm but with all the modern conveniences of today. Updated but retains the 'cabin' feel that we love.

What makes this cottage unique

The location of this property is perfect for enjoying the Park, beautiful scenic drives, or the many other Estes Valley activities. Close enough to walk or shuttle to almost anywhere in the area, including Rocky Mountain National Park. Quick and convenient access by car to activities. The deck off the kitchen and master bedroom has a great view of the Stanley Hotel and Lumpy Ridge. We have sat there many days and watched elk and deer grazing in the yard. The knotty pine interior is beautiful and creates a warm atmosphere.

Very pleasant

Overall, I enjoyed my vacation with my wife at this pleasant cottage. Our experience was almost but not quite excellent. With that said, I am saying Excellent anyway, as there were several nice perks to the unit, such as chocolates on the counter and the like. The unit was clean, quiet and well-located for Estes, especially if there is a desire to check out the tourist shops and local restaurants, and the view all around was great. I would recommend this cottage to others, and would gladly stay there again with my wife.

A wonderful gathering of family this weekend, made extra special by this lovely cabin. We were celebrating a graduation in Ft Collins and came from California.
The kitchen was well equipped and we found everything we needed.
p.s. the dogs loved it to!
Grandma enjoyed it, too!

  • Submitted: May 25, 2013
  • Stayed: May 2013
A cozy historical cottage within easy walking distance of downtown Estes and the river walk, just minutes away from both east side entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park. With great views of the Stanley Hotel and the Twin Owls off of the back deck, this is a great value, especially for families with kids. Centrally located to all of the main attractions in Estes, this cottage has all the amenities for cooking family meals and relaxing after a day of sightseeing or hiking. A truly unique and quintessential Estes mountain cottage experience - highly recommended for anyone with children and/or pets - or anyone looking to head for the mountains!
