BEAUTIFULLY REFURBISHED 15TH-CENTURY THATCHED COTTAGE

Looking for a place to house my mother and wife's parents whilst we stayed in the village, we were luck enough to find September cottage. You simply could not believe what lies behind those white walls. I spent the entire time trying to think of any way you could improve the cottage, or the experience whilst staying there and you can't. The kitchen is an utter thing of beauty, and absolutely everything for any occasion is there. The decor, choice of furniture, every single detail is brilliant. Also, having two separate floors for the bedrooms means comple privacy. I have never experienced such luxury in a rental cottage in my life. You could not believe that the house had ever been used. By far the best experience. And the cleaning and change of linnen half way through was brilliant. This is probably one of the most beautiful villages in England, and this is by far the best cottage in that village. Do not hesitate to book this place, if you are lucky enough to find a gap when it is free !

We spent the New Year period in September Cottage and it was absolutely amazing. The cottage is plenty big enough for the 3 couples that were staying. Everything has been thought of and everything has been completed to such a high standard.

We were blown away by the cottage when we first walked in, it is so beautiful! Being there in the winter, we made full use of the fire, aga and underfloor heating.

There are plenty of walks right from the door of the cottage and the pub across the green is also lovely.

We will be returning to the cottage in the very near future!

Having racked my brain, I still can't think of a single thing that this cottage lacks, both in terms of character and amenities. The owners have thought of every tiny detail to ensure guests have the perfect stay. Visiting at a colder time of year, we made good use of the Aga and roaring fire in the living room. The bedrooms were all super cosy and the overall feel is welcoming and inviting. We had little ones with us and so set out for Paignton zoo and Torbay beach one day (both fantastic) and explored the local countryside and Ring of Bells pub (also fantastic - especially the puddings!) on Sunday. If you happen to be there for fireworks night in the future, the Moretonhampstead fireworks display is seriously impressive! 15 minutes long with music - far exceeded all of our expectations! All in all this cottage is the perfect get-away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and I can't recommend it highly enough. Judy who manages the property on behalf of the owners deserves a special mention too - she answered all queries promptly and couldn't have been more helpful.
