Born and raised in the Walla Walla Valley.
I am a firefighter and paramedic with the Walla Walla Fire Department. I am also a member of the Bluewood Ski Patrol. I bought this home with the dream of someday raising a family here in the valley. Until then, I want to share the charm and beauty of Walla Walla with those who have never experienced this area.
I am excited to share it with others which is why I decided to turn my home into a vacation rental…. well that and the fact that a 4000 square foot house is a little big for a bachelor....
Walla Walla is known for having the friendliest people on earth and I hope that you feel that way while you are here. My home is your home, and if there is anything I can do to make your stay more enjoyable please do not hesitate to call. Additionally, if you are here over the winter months I would love the chance to introduce you to the backwoods skiing of Bluewood.
Pack your skies.
I hope you enjoy your stay and will return year after year.
Fred Hector purchased this house in 2011
The views are Fantastic! With in a mile and a half of a dozen wineries on the south side of town.
Peaceful country living while still close to town.
Stayed at Mountain View Lodge for a family weekend of wine tasting and it was perfect. Amenities were great and the kitchen was well stocked. I loved that the dining room was large enough to fit all 10 of us (with room to spare). The views from the house are amazing. You can see the sun rise on one side of the house, and the sunset on the other. Fred was very accommodating and had great communication. Would definitely recommend this house to friends and family, and hopefully will be back soon. Thank you Fred!
Our group of 12 adults never felt cramped in this great home. There were plenty of places to spread out and relax while at the same time having a private room for each couple. We thought about going into town both evenings but ended up cooking in and enjoying the property both nights. This is a great spot close to town and there are plenty of wineries within 10 minutes of the house. Would definitely be back.
This house exceeded our expectations.. Great views, very spacious, close to everything! In comparison to any hotels around, this house surpasses them all! Fred you do a great job and we will definitely come to stay again:)
From the moment you walk into the Mountain View Lodge you feel at home. This home sits at the base of the Blue Mountains with views from the kitchen and living room that take your breath away. The size and room of the lodge easily fit our family of 10 for a week stay. The lodge comes with so many amenities and added benefits, we could not have asked for anything else. I would definitely recommend this to anyone during any season.
My siblings and I share the same sentiment: We could not have asked for a more lovely home and experience staying at Mountain View Lodge! We will definitely want to stay here again, maybe next time in the Summer! The view is fantastic, the proximity to some great wineries excellent, the house gorgeous, but what means the most to me is the hospitality expressed by Fred. I travel a lot for business and the added touches, e.g. bathrobes, slippers, sundries, etc., really creates a luxurious feel - always so appreciated for a frequent traveler! The real bonus was that Fred went to the trouble of putting up an amazing Christmas tree - what a special touch that actually changed our entire celebration plan. Needless to say, we're kind of "in love" and have been telling everyone we know about this place!
I rented this house for a birthday weekend with 10 of my best friends. It was perfect! Fred is so great and was extremely accomodating. The house is fantastic, with so much room to spread out and also great places where the whole group could congregate and hang out together. We will absolutely be staying here on our next girls trip to Walla Walla.
