Great Potential! Perfect location for both winter and summer getaway!

My family which includes three teenagers stayed at the Bear'n Lodge for a long weekend of skiing at Whiteface (20 minutes away). It is located right between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, less than five minutes from each. Just off the road yet tucked on a hill in the woods, it provided serenity yet convenience. We even saw wild turkeys and several deer in the back yard each morning. With thedecks and backyard and closeness to the lake, I am sure this place would be fabulous in the summer too.
The Lodge itself has been recently renovated and is a great size for the five of us. The bedrooms are smallish but two doubles and two twins were perfect. Kitchen and eating area was very large and the appliances all functional; we especially liked the character of the kitchen table for meals and games. My family are TV junkies and it was nice to have one in the kitchen too but it is also discreet enough to be ignored if you want to stay away from technology while on vacation. Wifi was great too! The living area was very large with very high ceilings. The only thing that was not there that we missed was a fireplace; it would have made a world of difference in the coziness of the place. Second thing my wife would have liked was a bathtub but you can't have everything! Since it was recently renovated, I am sure there is more finising touches to come to make it more cozy like window dressings, wall pictures, books, decorations, things like that that would make it more like a home but I am sure they will gradually get there.
All in all it was a great place and definitely worth the price.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the honest review. We will be installing a gas fired cast-iron fireplace for added ambiance. And keeping with the Adirondack feeling, we will also be adding additional window dressings, pictures, books, and items that will make it even more comfortable.
