AS SEEN ON HGTV!!! Restored Farm House on 4 acres w/Hot Tub and Fireplace just 1.5 miles from town.
Quintessential Catskills get-away: Renovated 1935 farmhouse on 4 acres just moments from the fabled village of Woodstock. 2-story house features an open floor plan, with a modern, fully updated kitchen + bar that looks out onto both the dining room and a cozy living room, perfect for entertaining family or friends. Large, windows throughout bring lots of sunlight, cool breezes and nature into the space, and offer plenty of opportunities for watching the wildlife. A crackling fire in the living room provides additional charm.
Upstairs features a master bedroom w/ vaulted-ceiling and ceiling fan, and a second spacious bedroom, both with views of Overlook Mountain. The third bedroom is tucked behind the living room on the first floor.
Outside, relax with a good book on the covered porch (rain or shine), or enjoy grilling around the hand-built blue stone dining table while family and friends frolic on the great lawn. After dinner or a long day of hiking or skiing, enjoy an evening of romance and star-gazing in the hot tub.
No matter the season, the house is perfectly situated to take full advantage of the Catskills. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, we’re 30 minutes from Hunter, Belleayre and Windham Ski Resorts, with cross-country and snow-shoe trails even closer. Summer means canoeing in North South Lake, hiking to Overlook Mountain (trail head just a mile up the road) or a variety of other nearby Catskill trails, tubing in the Esopus Creek, bicycling to Cooper Lake or around the Ashokan Reservoir, or swimming in one of the many nearby “swimming holes”, including Kaaterskill Falls, Peekamoose, Onteora Lake and many others yet to be discovered (we’ll share our secret list of the best swimming holes and tell you how to find them once you check in!). Or you can simply hit the tennis and basketball courts (w/children’s playground) less than a mile away in the center of town. Euphoria Yoga is also 5 minutes away.
Cultural attractions within minutes of the house include Woodstock Film Festival, Woodstock Writers Festival, The Byrdcliffe Arts Colony (established 1902) and plenty of antiquing, not to mention “foodie” havens such as Cucina, Oriole 9, the Red Onion, and our personal favorite, Peekamoose (well worth the 20 minute drive up 28 to Big Indian). The Omega Institute, Bard College and the Hudson art scene / Basilica Hudson are also 20 minutes away.
We are any easy 2-hour drive from New York City, and the house is just 2 miles from the Trailways bus stop in the center of Woodstock, making it an easy trip whether you arrive by car or bus.

Dear Maria, I cannot tell you what a magical weekend it was here in Woodstock. We had the best girls weekend in your home that is filled with wonderful energy. We will be back for many years to come. All my love and Best wishes
I was getting married that weekend and needed a place for me, my mother, matron of honor, her family and close friend to stay. We hosted the pre-wedding dinner there the night before and it couldn't have been more perfect. That evening we gathered wood from around the tree ringed property and built a fire in the outdoor fire pit . We roasted marshmallows, joked and sipped around the fire and enjoyed our family, new and old. We had all the modern conveniences, internet, cable and a great hook up for our iphone's playlist. We slept peacefully in spacious rooms, comfortable beds with great climate control in the house. Although the road is somewhat close to the house we never heard car noise and the fact of its proximity to the road was good for out of towners finding their way in the dark. In the morning the kitchen was the sight of an awesome breakfast. We could have used a dishwasher but that was ok, somebody needed to burn off nervous energy. The next day the house was abuzz with wedding day preparations and there was plenty of room and bathrooms for all of us. It couldn't have been a more perfect spot to be at peace, celebrate and enjoy our family. Thank you Maria and Vickie for maintaining a beautiful property. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
We so needed to get out of the city. Moonrise was the perfect escape. It is bright and airy, clean, beautifully restored. The beds are super comfortable, the linen pristine. Lovely, thick white towels. Chef's kitchen. We took a hike and a dip, swam in a pine surrounded lake, walked around Woodstock and most of all, forgot about everything for a while. Afternoon siestas, looking at the stars. It smells good, like sweetgrass and wildflowers. And it sounds good, like crickets and laughter. I won't ever forget the wonderful time I spent here. Thank you to our hosts Maria and Vickie for making this so easy and efficient.
We stayed for about week and had such a wonderful visit! The house is a perfect blend of modern and rustic. It's light-filled and open. We cooked lovely dinners in the open kitchen and relaxed in the huge living room. Plenty of space in the house and property for everyone to come together or have some privacy. A dip in the hot tub looking at the stars was perfect after a day of hiking. Maria and Vickie recommended lakes and quaint towns nearby as well as an amazing restaurant (Peekamoose in Big Indian). We absolutely plan to visit again next summer. Our whole family had such a wonderful time and we can't thank Maria & Vickie enough for making our visit perfect!
A cozy farmhouse in a beautiful area. Maria and Vickie were very helpful from the beginning, answering our questions and giving us information about the house and area. We stayed for a weekend in July, and had a wonderful time cooking in the kitchen, walking around the neighborhood, and reading on the porch. Would love to return.
My husband and I rented this house with our toddler son and another couple over the 4th of July weekend. We had a wonderful stay.
The location can't be beat - the house is a quick 10 minute bike ride into town, we brought our bikes and used them to get around all weekend.
The house is pet-friendly and situated on 4 beautiful acres, so our beagle had plenty of room to roam around - he didn't come indoors except to sleep!
Since we were traveling with another couple and our 2 1/2 year old, it was nice to have rooms on separate floors so they weren't disturbed by the 5:30am wake up call from our toddler. The bathrooms on separate floors was ideal too. There were plenty of movies and Roku options to keep our son entertained. The rooms and bedding were very comfortable, and the strong AC units in each room kept us cool and comfortable on the hot summer weekend. We didn't need the extra fans Maria provided.
The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook meals at home, and the grocery store was a 10-min drive away for supplies. There is a large picnic table outside by the grill that we used to enjoy our morning coffee and breakfast.
Maria was an excellent host, she left detailed instructions and suggestions for our stay. She was flexible and accommodating with check-in and check-out, and she responded immediately to texts and emails.
One thing to note that has nothing to do with the house but rather the area in general, it's very buggy! We lit citronella candles and used bug spray - they were necessary for sitting outdoors.
We had a lovely weekend and can't wait to return! Thank you Maria!
I spent a long weekend at this lovely house for some much needed R&R. Working with the owners was easy and pleasurable. The house had everything I needed and then some. It was quiet and very clean. Town was such a short drive and had great shops. I stayed in and cooked and the kitchen was great. It had everything I needed to make anything from a simple meal to a gourmet dinner. I will definitely stay here again. I really enjoyed the hot tub to relieve me of all my stress. Treat yourself and spend some time here with its beautiful views.
We will provide a secret list of local swimming holes upon check in! Set on 4 private acres only 1.5 miles to Woodstock Town Center-shopping and Zagat rated restaurants such as Cucina and the legendary Bear Cafe stream-side dining.
