Close to both downtown Suttons Bay (about 2 miles) and Traverse City (about 12 miles). Easy access to Traverse City, but away from the crowds and noise. All water sports welcome on this Bay! It has a great hard sand bottom, crystal clear and clean water, wonderful for kayaking, boating, swimming and tubing. Only a few miles to the DNR boat ramp. West Bay is part of Lake Michigan and has cleaner water, bigger waves and sandier beaches. Petoskey Stones have waited millions of years for you to come find them. Close to two golf courses, 12 vineyards (which offer free wine tasting) and the Leelanau Sands Casino!
