Owned by Laura & Pete Ryan (who summer next door) and Cindy & Mark Wenger (2 doors down). All from Columbus, Ohio (even though the Ryans currently live in Atlanta) we all call Drummond our home.

Cindy Wenger purchased this house in 1972

Part of the family property, this cottage became part of our Drummond legacy in 1972. Second generation families raised our children here and then established our Island homes nearby. This has been our home, and we are delighted to share it with you.

Right on the water, this cabin has the views, swimming,

sand area for the kids, and serene sunsets all right where

you're staying. Hiking trails are within walking distance, and a children's play cabin is right on the property. The bay in front is shallow, which makes swimming ideal.

JOHN AND KIM'S UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER VACATION TO DRUMMOND ISLAND!

John and Kim's Unforgettable summer vacation to Drummond Island!
  • 5 of 5
This cottage is so cozy and welcoming, from the minute we walked in all we could say is wow! It is so cute and tucked back down a lane in the woods right on Lake Huron facing the sunsets and the offshore islands. I fell in love! ...first with the ferry, with the deck, the adorable sleeping loft, the red geraniums, the sweet beach and firepit. Best of all is the peaceful woods, and the night sky, the pet squirrel, and the sunsets. I would give anything to be there right now! Cindy is so friendly and helpful and I feel like I have known her my whole life. This home has been in her family for over 30 years and the furnishings and decor fit so perfect for the U.P. of Michigan. We highly recommend the Bear Tracks for breakfast, the Port of Call for brick oven pizza and their dark beer and wine selection! We also enjoyed Esther's Mexican Garden for dinner. We really enjoyed just hanging out on the deck with our snacks and wine! We LOVED the off road jeep trails and the Jeep jamboree weekend. The islanders are so friendly and they wave at everyone. This place is kayaking heaven and we enjoyed paddling right off of the cottage's beach to the close islands and the National Wildlife refuge island. We kayaked the Dam flooding area inland and kayaked for miles along pristine blooming lily pads while the otters and beavers popped their heads up to check us out while bald eagles soared overhead. This island is a paradise and this house is a treasure. I can't wait to come back and I can only hope it will be soon. Thank you Cindy for sharing this place with us. Stay in touch :) John and Kim

COZY, HOMEY CABIN !

  • 5 of 5
5 of us "girls" visited Drummond for the Fall Festival and stayed at this cabin for 3 nights. It was perfect for us! We felt so at home at this place as soon as we walked in! Location is so convenient to "town" and the activities that were going on all weekend. Very clean, private and quiet (except for us!) ...... the Owners were close by and very available if needed. The cabin is well-stocked and roomy with the ultimate up north, U.P. cabin feel. We loved it and all agreed that we will return for another visit in the future! Thanks to our lovely hostesses for everything ... including the perfect weather!

LOVELY CABIN AND GRACIOUS HOSTS!

  • 5 of 5
We chose Drummond Island for our "Girls Week", and are so happy we did! The cottage exceeded our expectations. Very well stocked and charming. Plenty of room for the 4 of us; we used the grill every night and the kitchen every morning. Wanted for nothing. The island was wonderful; paddled and boated to the outlying islands and right back up to our front door! The hosts are very kind, nearby if you need something, but not imposing. We hope to go back!

AWESOME CABIN ON THE WATER!!

  • 5 of 5
Where do I start...First the pictures do not do it justice. Cute cabin that is private with a great view! We had 4 adults, 3 kids and 2 small dogs with lots of room! It was clean relaxing and felt like home. The owners are very attentive to their guests and their needs! Thanks Cindy and Laura for everything!!

We loved the Bay for swimming, using the raft, the best sunsets and stars ever! Sit on the porch and watch the sun slowly set and the bay appears on fire!! , At night we saw the northern lights and wonderful shooting stars. During the day we fished, traveled to fossil ledge, Glen Cove Harbor Island and of course the TeePee for ice cream.
The kids loved the play house and the secret woods!
We usually take a week a year always a different location but next year we discussed 2 weeks and returning to Cedar Sunsets.
Ahhh pure Michigan nothing like it!

PERFECT GETAWAY!

  • 5 of 5
We spent a fabulous week in this lovely and comfortable cottage on Drummond Island. It was our first trip to the island and we were thrilled to be able to bring our dogs and kayaks. Every day was spent exploring the islands waterways, birdwatching, and hiking. The rental is just as advertised, clean, and filled with charming furniture, books and games, and every kitchen utensil you can imagine. Plus the beds were super comfortable! You honestly do not need to bring a thing as the kitchen and house are all well stocked. There is a total sense of privacy at the cottage and you are directly on the lake and facing beautiful views of the water. The owners live close by and they are terrific, helpful and friendly. We are frequent VRBO travelers and this rental has become our favorite. So If you are looking for a great getaway that is both peaceful and adventurous, this is the place for you!

JUST BEAUTIFUL!

  • 5 of 5
The cabin was cute as a button and exactly what a cabin on a lake in Michigan should look like! Spacious, private, comfortable, great views of the lake, well stocked (with everything), loved all the windows that were easy to open to let in the breeze from the lake, great book selection (just can't beat David Baldacci). Great deck to watch all the wildlife that roams by (deer, eagles, sandhill cranes, crazy little squirrels, etc.) and the spectacular sunsets. Drummond Islanders are so friendly and helpful, their fudge was our downfall, plenty of hiking trails and eating establishments, and I even found a puddingstone! Thank you, Cindy, for helping to make this much needed vacation such a memorable one!
