Situated perfectly above The Whitefish River this location allows easy access to all that Whitefish has to offer. Across the street, take a stroll through the park along the river. We provide a canoe for our guests as well as bikes to cruise around on. It is three blocks to shopping in downtown Whitefish which offers a great selection of art galleries, and the finest of restaurants in the Flathead Valley. Enjoy the skiing Big Mountain offers during our Winter months, and mountain biking/hiking throughout Summer. It is a 30 minute drive to either Glacier National Park or Flathead Lake. A soak at Hot Springs, MT where travelers come from all over the world, is just 1 hour away.
With a free bus stop 2 blocks away, the Snow Bus provides our guests and locals alike transportation throughout Winter to the lifts at Big Mountain, where we ski over 3000 acres of easy to find fresh powder.
This comfortable home features a full kitchen, clothes washer and dryer, hi-speed internet, satellite tv, and all amenities you will need on your trip. My husband and I stayed for a month in Summer 2013 and we did the same for 5 weeks in Aug. 2014. The cottage is centrally located, within walking distance to Whitefish downtown for shopping and restaurants. The cottage is cozy and airy with nice upgraded bathroom, comfortable queen bed, comfy living room with cable TV, and kitchen with new large refrigerator, washer/dryer, microwave and gas range as well as wireless internet access. We spent many a summer evening eating out on the back patio which is shaded from the sun in the evening. In the evening we open the windows and sleep well in the cool Montana nights.
We spend a lot of time in Glacier National Park and it is a quick 45 minute drive to the Park; and it is an easy drive south to Kalispell for shopping, movies and restaurants. A large modern Safeway is only a half mile away.
I would highly recommend this property for an easy, casual visit to Whitefish and all it has to offer. Matt and Meghan were always available to answer any questions or solve any issue that may come up.
We had a wonderful stay at this house for a month and half, the location is perfect especially for my husband myself and our dog. We came down to have our baby girl so having a house that was walking distance to everything made it perfect! Very much enjoyed our stay the owner Matt was above and beyond helpful and cant wait to come back and stay again!
I stayed here for a long winter ski trip in 2014, 7 weeks. Really enjoyed this place, would highly recommend, and hope to stay again on a future long ski trip. Its about a 15 minute drive up to Whitefish Mtn Resort. Other than that, the car was parked in the driveway, and I walked everywhere in town. Was great to feel just like I was a resident of the town, walking everywhere, enjoying food, music, drinks, just a few minutes walk from the house. Usually I have rented a condo for my long ski vacations, so it was really great to have a whole house to spread out in and feel to be "at home". Its about double the size of a typical 1BR condo, so i could really spread out, relax, and be comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom newly renovated and nice. Great to have a washer/dryer conveniently available. Kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook for yourself. A thoroughly enjoyable place to stay.
My husband and two dogs stayed at the cottage for the month of September 2013. The cottage has so much character and was comfortable and cozy. We had every convenience we do at home.The river across the street and walking paths were great. There is a park within walking distance as is downtown with the Farmers Market, shops and restaurants. Matt and Megan brought coffee beans, huckleberries, waffle mix and creamer the first day we arrived and their hospitality continued through our stay. Matt even put up a temporary fence for the dogs! We were in MT to look for a home and he gave us the name of a realtor who was patient and helpful. We hope by spring we will be Whitefish residents..it's a beautiful and warm city and can't wait to return.
My wife and I, and our baby girl, had a wonderful vacation at the cottage. Just a few blocks from the nice downtown area (restaurants, ice cream, farmer's market, etc.), right next to Whitefish river, close to Whitefish lake and beaches, and just 30 minutes from Glacier NP. House had all the necessary amenities (and lots of old charm), and a half-dozen large cherry trees in the back yard (made two delicious cherry pies!), and the back patio was great for dinners. Owner was very helpful, responded quickly to our requests, and gave us great recommendations. Would love to stay again!
My teenage daughter and I had an amazing month-long stay at the Central Avenue house in Whitefish. The bedroom suite is large, with an ample walk-in closet and updated bathroom. It's perfect for a couple, or a couple with an extra guest, as the living room sofa has a foldout bed. The house also comes complete with a canoe and mountain bikes, as the river is within 20 yards of the house!
The owner is helpful, quick to answer questions, and even had the house ready with coffee and cream when we arrived. Who could ask for anything more! This rental is an easy five minute walk to downtown, which is rich with food, entertainment, and shopping. It was hard for us to leave!
