If you enjoy art, music and literature you will appreciate our 65 sq meter (700 sq feet) apartment that’s been designed by a talented French architect. Full of books, CD's and DVD's, it’s a home away from home. On the fourth floor with elevator, it has an independent entrance in our duplex, providing complete privacy along with the advantage of having us near for any information you might need.
The apartment consists of an open kitchen/living area, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a library-study in which a sofa can open to a full bed, and a bathroom with a shower. There’s everything necessary for a perfect stay in Paris: a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction cook-top, microwave, oven, and refrigerator; large flat-screen television and DVD player; radio-CD player with an excellent sound system; telephone; wireless internet; washer-dryer). Detergent, paper products and staples such as tea and coffee, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, and sugar are provided so you aren’t obliged to do a major shopping just to settle in.
Marvelously situated between the Bastille and the Place de la République and just around the corner from the historical Cirque d’Hiver, the apartment is on the edge of the fashionable Marais area which is full of art galleries, exclusive clothing stores and specialty food shops as well as a colorful covered market. You can walk to the Pompidou Center and the Place de Vosges within fifteen minutes, and many of Paris’s famous attractions such as the Louvre or Notre Dame are at a convenient distance whether on foot or by using public transportation. Three metro and 3 bus lines are near the apartment, making it incredibly convenient for visiting Paris. As well, the major train stations are easily reached from here.
Rental fee includes linens and towels, and cleaning at the end of your stay.
We are a French-American couple. Pierre is a pure Parisien; Marsha grew up in Maine, and lived in New York before deciding to move to Paris. We've lived in the area for many years and really love it. The idea of transforming our duplex into an independent apartment offers us the pleasure of using our space wisely as well as giving visitors to Paris a very comfortable and welcoming environment in which to stay.
My husband and I stayed in this apartment on the edge of the Marais in February 2015 and found it perfect for our needs. It had all the attributes one would expect in an apartment: clean, comfortable bed, nicely furnished, quite spacious. It also had a really nice kitchen, new windows that blocked out street noise, curtains that blocked the light, good lighting, a nice shower and a good heating system.
We loved the location. There were two local Metro stops plus the large Place de la Republique station—we could go anywhere, and did. The shopping street was just a couple of blocks over, and it was wonderful with many small shops as well as the famous Marché des Enfants Rouge. Notre Dame was an easy walk down the charming Rue Vieille du Temple.
But one of the nicest things was to have the owners, Marcia and Pierre, upstairs. We rented an apartment once in Italy and the owner, our only contact, lived in California. This time when I blew a fuse (my fault), Marcia was right there to show us the fuse box. She also answered questions, printed out some tickets for us, and steered us to restaurants and sights we might not have found otherwise. It was nice not to be alone in a strange city, even for experienced travelers.
We spent 7 days in Marsha's apartment.
The property is as you can see in the photos and floor plan. Clean, comfortable, very well equiped (tv, dvd player, cd player, cds, dvds, and a huge library).
Metro, supermarket, street markets, food stores and cafes are at walking distance. Le Marais is a wonderful neighborhood to discover what living in Paris is about.
Marsha is a very friendly, helpful and cultivated person.
Hope to be back soon.
We rented this apartment for six nights in March. The apartment was clean and perfect with fresh flowers and fruit waiting when we arrived. Marsha and Pierre were gracious hosts and readily available to answer questions. The apartment is very close to the Republique metro stop so all the major Paris tourist attractions are easily accessible once you figure out the super-efficient Metro system. We did not spend too much time in the apartment since this was our first visit to Paris and we were busy sightseeing. However, the apartment was a beautifully decorated refuge to return to at the end of each exhausting day. The apartment was nicely equipped with washer/dryer, dishwasher and general cooking items. There was even a French-press coffee pot, “real” coffee according to Marsha and fresh milk. This was very much appreciated as we arrived exhausted with teenager in tow after a 12 hour flight. If we return to Paris we would definitely rent this apartment again and have recommended it to friends planning Paris vacations.
We spent 6 fabulous days in Paris and the location of this apartment couldn't have been better. From our original contact with Marsha to the final day of our stay, she was fantastic. My wife and sister-in-law arrived by Eurostar from London and I flew into Charles de Gaulle. The apartment is a 10 minute cab ride (8-10 euros) or a 15 minute Metro ride from Gare du Nord. From Charles de Gaulle, it's about an hour using the RER B line. The location of the apartment is convenient to everything in Paris. From great cafes and restaurants to the awesome Boulangeries, the only eating issues was deciding which one. The apartment is very comfortable and has all of the necessary amenities. We loved how nice it was decorated. The elevator was very convenient as the apartment is on the 4th floor. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent a wonderful two weeks in this lovely apartment, and would go back in a heartbeat. The apartment is beautiful, stylish, comfortable, quiet, spotless, and perfectly functional. There was a hip selection of books, CDs, and DVDs if you need additional entertainment, a TV, washer/dryer--everything you could want. The owners live in an apartment upstairs and were always available for help or advice, but their proximity never impacted the coziness or privacy of the apartment.
The location is perfect--everything you need is nearby. It's a quick walk down to the Bastille market, a must for stocking the refrigerator in the great kitchen. Great bakeries and epiceries, along with nearby organic food shops kept us well-stocked. We made great use of the kitchen, eating breakfast and dinner in the apartment nearly every day, which added to the feeling of actually LIVING in Paris.
The Metro is nearby, as is the upper Marais with all of its hip shops, restaurants, and bars. The apartment was a spectacular Parisian homebase that truly felt like home after only a couple days. We definitely hope to return.
How lovely to walk into this apartment from busy Paris streets and see the cool clean lines of a space tastefully and artistically decorated, an ideal space for a one or two couples. The neighborhood is interesting and comfortable to walk in, close to the Marais [our favorite part of Paris], with easy access to the Metro [Republique, Oberkampf, Filles du Calvaire]. A modern and well-equipped kitchen and bath, comfortable beds and fine linens, an interesting library in the den, a view of the street and neighborhood rooftops – all combine to make this a superb place to stay. The owner was welcoming, helpful in so many ways, and extremely easy to deal with. She lives above the apartment should any problems arise (unlikely!). We rented the apartment for several days in April and again later in May. We highly recommend it and hope to stay here the next time we are in Paris.
