A beautiful massive rock wood burning fireplace is situated to attract attention anytime of the year. Nestle up with a good book, watch your favorite movie, enjoy a game of pool all the while also enjoying the warmth of a fire lit hearth. This is the quintessential mountain experience.
The vaulted ceilings as well as the windows in the main living area lends to the cabin's open feeling. Located on the corner which allows guests to view the scenery from many angles of the home, giving it a more open feeling.
The kitchen is to one side of the room and has lots of spacious cabinets as well as a long counter top. All new appliances are perfect to cook your holiday meal or just simple dishes. The extra long counter can serve as as a buffet for holiday entertaining.

An extra 'Bonus' is the loft upstairs. Appointed specifically for kids enjoyment, there is a foosball game table and two chairs situated opposite another TV with VCR and DVD. This area will be a favorite of the kids, we guarantee. They will be entertained for hours playing their gaming system, Foosball, or watching their favorite movie on the VCR or DVD. You might not see the kids for hours as there is also a bathroom, no need to travel downstairs to take care of business. Don't be surprised if you have to go up there to get them to come down to dinner! LOL.
Another extra special treat in this cabin in Big Bear is the fully fenced backyard. This feature is important when you want the kids to play in the yard or when you bring your pet.
There is also a nice cement patio with furniture and barbecue. It's nice to relax outdoors and listen to nature sounds you don’t hear down the hill.
For longer stays or in the winter, a brand new washer & dryer is a nice optional extra here. This works well in the winter when your kids come in for a bite after snow play outdoors, throw their clothes in the dryer and they can resume snow play with newly dried clothes.
This cabin in Big Bear offers lots of creature comforts and extra bonuses for assuring guests a great time and fun for all.

'We are a family of four with two dogs. We were visiting Big Bear to enjoy some snow play with our young children when it struck us how much we'd like to have a place that we could come to year round and where we'd know our family would always be comfortable. The best solution for us was to get a vacation rental cabin that we could share with others. This made our dream of having a convenient and cozy cabin for fun and relaxing with our family, friends, and pooches affordable. We'd love to share more of our experiences at and around the cabin with you.
The first is simple, as they say...LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Walking Pines is very well located to be central to lots of fun activities. With a walk out the front door, you are looking at the National Forest. With a walk across the street, you can head out on a hike or a mountain bike ride on one of several trails that begin or end at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area. Many mountain bikers end their rides here after taking the lifts up the mountain at Snow Summit ski resort. At the Aspen Glen Picnic Area, you will also find a hill perfect for some free snow play - sledding, tubing, or the like. While these are the amenities right in Walking Pines' front yard, there are other fun and scenic activities a short drive or walk away. Less than 1/2 mile away is Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain where you can enjoy a bobsled type ride year round, water slide in the warmer months, and snow play during snow season. Less than 3/4 mile down the hill you will reach Big Bear Lake where you can enjoy a scenic walk or many different water activities. And just 3/4 mile down the Boulevard, you will reach the Village where you can find lots of shops and restaurants. Lastly, just two miles away, you will find the closest ski resort. All of these activities nearby really make this a great vacation spot year round!
The next reason we chose Walking Pines to be our vacation home is its great ENTERTAINING AND GATHERING SPACE. The large and open great room is really perfect for the whole family or a group of friends to hang out together. Folks can eat, sit and talk or read, play a game of pool, and enjoy a movie all together in one space. There are several areas to sit, and the space can be used in whatever way works best for your party. And anytime it is desirable to break away or have a separate space for the kids to enjoy, there is also the game area loft. This semi-private space has a Foosball table for enjoyment of all and a cozy TV area for movie watching or game playing. The layout of the cabin offers the best of both worlds for gathering and relaxing.
Beyond these two main aspects of location and gathering space that Walking Pines offers, another aspect that is important to our family is having a secure place for our dogs and young children to enjoy. The deck, that wraps around two sides of the cabin, is enclosed with railing and each entrance has a gate to deter pets and toddlers from wandering. This allows us to spend time enjoying the scenery worry-free. The back yard, which still has nice views of the pine trees and aspens surrounding the property, is also fenced in for added privacy and security.
These added benefits really make this a peaceful and enjoyable vacation home for our family. We hope you and your friends and family will enjoy it too!
Conveniently close to many area activities and special events held throughout the year.
