|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Five bedroom waterfront home in Deep Cove on Vancouver's Indian Arm saltwater inlet, 25 minutes from downtown. This beautiful vacation residence is bordered on the west by a year round creek. The property has a private dock, rocky beach, and garden area. Additionally, it has a large heated jacuzzi/hot-tub built into a wooden deck between the house and the water.
The home itself is ideally situated to capture the beauty of its setting. Each of its three stories have many windows that look out on the inlet outside. Each story also boasts a cedar deck, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise.
The residence has a reverse layout with a top floor entrance into the living, kitchen and dining areas, which open onto a panoramic e/s/w view. Visible from the property are both Deep Cove marinas, coastal mountains and islets, and the lights of port Coquitlan and Burnaby in the distance. Tidal changes are up to twelve feet here and crabs can be caught right off the dock. The house is very private and feels as though you're 'away from it all,' yet it's only 20 km from downtown Vancouver. Families traveling together will find this spot a refreshing and private escape in all seasons. Like all homes in this area, the property is forested by cedars and deciduous trees.
This home has had extensive upgrades and remodeling over the last five years. It is now available for weekly, monthly, or longer periods by agreement (it is otherwise used as the family's vacation home). We are not renting for shorter stays than one week except 'off season' and then to families or businesses and not for 'event' (parties, etc) use. It is a NON SMOKING house in a quiet area. We prefer to limit the group size to 10 or 12 including children. Property usage is intended for registered guests for the most part (e.g., a few local friends/family/business retreat members visiting is fine but no large parties or events or celebrations with visitors not on the contract unless with owner's prior permission). NOTE: This is not a 'formal' house in terms of dining table with leaves, matching chairs beyond six, etc. It is as depicted in the photos. We do have a table extension in matching wood to seat 10.
Residential neighborhood “quiet hours” are observed before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m. daily.
At the street level there is a garage and parking for 2 other vehicles. The home is a ten minute walk to the Deep Cove village along Panorama Drive (where the Baden/Powell trail from Mt. Seymour area ends), as well as to the local kayak center and two marinas. Street parking is also available for additional cars and visitors w/o charge or time limits. NOTE: ambulatory abilities are necessary, as the house has extensive stairs, and there are no lifts on any level. This is NOT a 'child safe' house in that there are open stairwells, etc. so renters must strictly supervise young children in and out.
The four bedrooms on the middle level of the house include:
(a) master bedroom with private inlet-facing deck, king-sized bed, a movable single bed, and en-suite bath;
(b) creek-side bedroom with small creek-facing deck and private entrance and queen-sized bed;
(c) creek-side bedroom with queen-sized bed;
(d) bedroom with double bed.
(e) Lower floor: queen bedroom w/ ensuite bath (2015)
The bottom floor of the house has a creek-side bedroom with a queen-sized bed but there is room for another single bed as well and it has its own ensuite bath downstairs . There is another complete and separate bath on that level as well for use by 2nd floor bedroom guests. The lower floor is being currently remodeled in 2015 and will be ready for rental again May, 2015. We'll have a new entertainment kitchen, as well, and extra oven + refrig.
The home also has a playpen/baby bed if needed, but does not have a full size crib. A high chair also will be supplied if needed on request (2 available). We have a comfortable easy to inflate single mattress as well for
children or adult use.

This residence is owned by a Californian couple and is used as a vacation residence for themselves and friends and family. Due to work, distance and travel, we are only there part time so we have decided to share our home with people from other areas who will enjoy and care for it. We have great neighbors in Deep Cove and are renting to visiting families traveling together as well as to businesses for retreats and meetings. we do not do rentals at present for events, bachelor parties, social gatherings, etc. (parking and noise issues) and we ask that the principal (signing) renter be age 35 or older. Well supervised children are welcome and animals are possible with approval and deposit.
Jean Zlotkin or as back up Francie Hubbard purchased this house in 2005
We looked at all kinds of properties once we decided that the Greater Vancouver area was where we wanted to spend much of our leisure time. We wanted to have ocean access easily (we boat and swim), privacy, feel connected to the Pacific Northwest forest, and have all the urban excitement and amenities of a great city. Deep Cove proved to be the unique answer for all our desires.
Very few places can offer the amenities of this home: a private dock for lounging, a hot tub where you can enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets, or warm up after a swim off the private dock; a pool table for gaming, and glorious views. AND…in winter… proximity to great winter sports area and l.5 hours to Whistler... plus three 'local' ski areas within 1/2 hour.
Thank you for all the details and help you provided me with to ensure our stay was perfect. The house, the views, the comforts all were perfect.
Relaxing on your decks, dock, or in your hot tub prevented us from leaving quite as much as we planned since we were so happy here.
The climb to Quarry Rock on the Baden-Powell trail was fun and our dinners locally at the Arm's Reach Bistro and The Raven Pub were delicious.
Hope we can boat Indian Arm another time. (text from house guest book)
We are from the States and rented the home for 8 days for our son's wedding. Deep Cove is a quiet little village, conveniently located about 30 minutes from Vancouver. It has a park and marina, a couple nice restaurants, the greatest donut shop in the world, and a hiking trail; all within a 10 minute from the house. Don't forget to check out the local museum shop for work from local artists. Everyone loved hanging out on the main floor of the house. The kitchen was very well equipped. The caretaker gave us a great orientation to the home and checked on us regularly.
We spent an extended family vacation here in the summer of 2014. The home is lovely and well maintained. It accommodated all 14 of us well! The views across the water and the mountains were stunning. The caretaker was readily available to help us as needed and to put up a curtain in the lower level sleeping area at my request. The hot tub was a big hit with our children. We really enjoyed the quaintness of Deep Cove, which was just a short walk from the house. Members of our family took advantage of the kayaking in the bay and hiking in the mountains. Despite being out of the city of Vancouver, it was a close commute to take in all that Vancouver has to offer. We would highly recommend this vacation property.
We spent 3 days in this lovely home - a retreat for our clients who are CEOs and Entrepreneurs - away from the busy-ness of life and obligations. We were met by a friendly and welcoming caretaker who showed us around and made us feel right at home. Our time here was rejuvenating, restful and healing. We spent many hours cozied up to the fire, enjoying the ever-changing waterfront vista. The fall colours across the water were absolutely beautiful! This large home is clean and comfortable with plenty of room to find a quiet place for yourself or to have a private conversation. We found we really didn't want to leave, but when we ventured out, we discovered a couple of great restaurants close by and were downtown Vancouver in under 20 minutes. This is just the place if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet space to come "home" to after exploring, kayaking, hiking, biking...whatever you choose to do - it's all near by.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The view is astonishing. The house is well-kept, clean, and provides everything you need. The location is ideal, very close to downtown Vancouver and the neighborhood is safe.
What a fabulous place!! We were a family of 12 (with 5 teenagers) and this house was perfect! The location to Deep Cove was amazing. The kids could walk to town for gelato or shaved ice, or hike the trail at the end of the street up to Quarry Rock that had an amazing view. We hired a boat for a 3 hour late day tour up the Indian Arm that was beautiful. Thank you Mitch! We also rented kayaks one day and SUPs another. The drive into Vancouver was only 25 minutes, as well as the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain, and Horseshoe Bay. Everything was at our finger tips, including everything at the house. Dinner recommendations are The Village Table, Arms Reach, and the local pizza place that delivers. A must rent!
Stunning Waterfront Home indeed. As a longtime resident of Vancouver, I can say that Deep Cove the most beautiful area of town and this home is the perfect way to enjoy it. The views are amazing and there is plenty of room for a large group; we were only 8 but it sleeps up to 13 I believe with plenty of room to stretch out and not feel crowded. The home is also very well stocked with dishes, cutlery, 2 fridges, and the kitchen island is huge which is great for cooking and entertaining.
The private dock is great for swimming, boating, kayaking or just hanging out at the picnic table with a tasty beverage in the sun. There is also very good hiking and mountain biking (DH, XC) in the area and of course skiing in the Winter.
Its only a 25 minutes drive to downtown but you really feel like you are away from it all here. We all had a great time and would highly recommend this home to others.
Our property is at the shoreline, with a long dock extending out and the house set back on a hillside; indicator on map is close proximity. Good public transportation (bus) to downtown Vancouver is frequent for non-drivers, as well as sea-bus across Burrard Inlet.
