The Seneca Lodge is a magnificant, four bedroom, three bath , cedar home designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. Purchased in 2012 it has been refurnished and decorated to reflect the ambiance of lodge living in the Finger Lakes. All the wood furnishings were custom made by a Pennsylvania Mennonite artisan exclusively for this home.
As you enter the driveway from the main street, you will notice the tall pines, oaks and maple trees that are surrounded by a lush growth of vincas that line the one side . A display of giant hostas take presence on the other side with hummingbirds feeding daily on their nector. As you enter the house from the large gravel parking area, you are welcomed into a picture-perfect lodge atmosphere with the spacious wrap around deck. Your first inclination is to run around the deck to get that first breathtaking view of the lake!
What you will notice on the deck is that it is furnished comfortably for outdoor meals and lounging. A Weber Grill is conveniently located outside the kitchen near the sturdy dining table and chairs.
On the home's main level you will enter through the spacious country kitchen. Impeccably designed with custom built cabinets, corrian counter tops,a Thermador gas / electric stove,and an extra stainless steel refrigerator for the discriminating chef. The open kitchen looks out into the great room with wood floors and chalet style floor-to -ceiling windows that highlight the incrediable views. Within the great room is the dining area that features a custom hand made Mennonite grand cedar dining table, chairs and bench. Ample seating for ten. The lodge design continues into the living area with a large braided rug, a huge leather sofa and chair, Mennonite custom made cedar wagon wheel table and chair. A flat screen TV ,large fireplace, and vaulted ceilings compliment the relaxing lodge atmosphere. Look around at the decor as you may find some interesting items of years gone by. The hutch was made from old barnwood from Pennsylvania and the two end tables from wine barrels of a local winery!
Off the rear of the kitchen and down a separate tiled hallway are two bedrooms each with queen size white cedar log beds and Adirondack decor. A full size tiled bathroom is nearby with a shower/tub combo, commode and double sinks. Down the hallway, is a wet bar that includes a blender and glasses for every type of wine, beer and coctails that you can make. A HE Maytag washer and dryer are also located here.
Follow the stairs up in the great room to the master suite loft. Here you find ample living space ,burber carpet , cedar vaulted ceilings and skylights. Two comfy chairs look out over the great room. With the large windows you will have views of the beach and lake to wake up to! The private suite includes a custom king size rough-hewn red cedar log bed with matching end tables and lodge decor. The green tiled bathroom offers a separate shower stall, commode, and double sinks. A wall of built in cedar drawers are located in the master closet . A flat screen TV is there for your enjoyment.
Down the hallway from the first floor, are another set of stairs that lead to a walk out lower level. Here you will encounter the spacious family room with 50' plasma TV with surround sound and a full size slate pool table for evening enjoyment. Located down the hall is the home's fourth bedroom, with two twin beds and Adirondack decor. A full bathroom , tiled ,with tub/shower combination, commode, and double sink is across the hall. Walk out this lower level for your ultimate relation in the large gorgeous hot tub on the private patio.
A gently sloping grassy path leads you to the level natural lake frontage. Bring your meals and drinks with you and enjoy the two picnic tables that are there for your convenience. The adjacent flat lawn is is perfect for a game of outdoor activities or relaxing by reading a book in a lounge chair under the tree. For those who love being out on the water, a canoe, rowboat and two kayacks are provided for your enjoyment. Life vests are in the small shed located nearby along with water toys for small children and additional seating. The swimming area has a ladder off the permanent dock. After swimming ,wrap up in your towel and relax in one of the chairs in the seating area on the dock. Keep your eyes open as you may catch a glimpse of the Blue Heron, or Bald Eagle that frequents the waters near Seneca Lodge.
