the very individually equipped house “Waldklause” offers space for 2 different holiday apartments. The upper apartment “Fernsicht” is for 2-6 people. The apartment “Grünstein” on the ground floor offers high comfort for 2.

The elevated property with private driveway borders the natural forest from Grünstein on one side. Hiking paths to Königssee and the Watzmann region start from the house, you can enjoy the stunning mountain panorama view from the balcony of the upper floor and from the windows & outdoor areas of the lower floor. Parking spaces directly by the house.

A special plus is that this holiday apartment offers a peaceful location far from street noise.

Pure culture next to nature: The national park Berchtesgaden Land with all of its extraordinary natural beauties borders the Salzburg Land. If your feet are too tired or the weather is not good and you want to go to a metropolis with international music, theatre and art traditions, there is no better tip than the Mozart city of Salzburg, which can be reached from Schönau in about a 30 minute drive.

The small alleys with the artistic facades of the old city invite you to walk and enjoy,

particularly nice during December.

During the Advent season

Berchtesgaden tradition, Christkindl market, with traditional carvings and baked goods, famous festival trains, Buttnmandl running, beautiful advent lighting.

The hiking- not just the Müllers Lust: The mountain hiking in the Berchtesgaden Alps is particularly nice during the spring when the snow still shines on the summits and the flowers bloom in the valley.

Do not forget fall with the colours of the birch, beech, larch forests under the dark-blue sky.

Comfort apartment in 4-star-quality The ground floor apartment in the lone-standing house “Waldklause” has been offered since June 2011. It is special through very high-quality equipment with private flair. The spacious living room (35 m²) consists of 2 departments (originally 2 rooms), 1 cosy relaxation area with 2 stress-less chairs and comfortable couch, well-heating fireplace oven. Farmer’s cabinet with hidden TV and CD player. In the other half a rustic sitting corner with farmer furniture. The floor is heated equally through heated flooring if needed. The brand name kitchen is equipped with all accessories – just as you like it at home. Behind the house is a small lawn by the Grünstein natural forest with an undisturbed view of the mountain panorama. For breakfast or grilling outside, there are 2 places to sit. Optimal comfort, also by “bad weather” In the hallway there is a large closet for clothes and shoes.

Hiking paths directly from the house, 20 minute walk to the famous Königssee, well-built hiking paths and climbing areas in the surrounding mountains of the Berchtesgaden Land. The slatted frames can be bent and are good for the spine. Allergy-free covers. 1 second television available. Full-body mirror. Due to the thick outdoor walls, the room is also comfortably cool by the summer heat.

Perfect base to explore Berchtesgaden area

We spent a week in the Grunstein apartment and couldn't have been happier. We wish we could have spent more time there. There was so much to do and the house was our perfect base to explore and relax.

The Apartment:
It's a very spacious apartment. The large and bright living room has spectacular views of the mountains. Also has a fireplace which will make it very cozy in the winter time. The kitchen is very well provisioned for, had a lot of kitchen appliance, utensils, plates. Whether you just need something for tea or coffee or you want to make a gourmet meal, the kitchen is up for the task. The bathroom has the most amazing shower with 9 shower heads! The beds are very comfortable. The laundry machines also come handy. Needless to say it's impeccably clean and very quiet.

Location:
The nature trail to Konigssee starts at the end of the driveway of the house. It takes about 10-15 minutes to reach the lake, which is exquisite. The proximity of the house to the lake means you can easily get there early in the morning when there is hardly anyone at the lake so you get the full enjoyment. There are many many beautiful walking and hiking trails in the nearby area.

The house is within easy walking distance of beer gardens/restaurants, shops and markets in Schonau town.

With a car, one can easily reach the charming Berchtesgaden old town, Ramsau, Salt mine, gorges, and Eagles' Nest and many many other sites, all within 10-20 minute of drive. Salzburg is only about 30-40 minutes way.

The owner and manager of the house are super friendly and accommodating. They provided helpful suggestions and are very responsive to any questions we had.
