This is a STUDIO apartment with one queen size bed, located in the heart of Hollywood's Media District, close to West Hollywood, restaurants, shopping, theaters, clubs and all the services you will need.... in a controlled access (keyed entry) courtyard complex with old world Spanish flavor.
This unit has all appliances: Stove, Refrigerator, built in Microwave, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Electric Teapot, as well as A/C, WiFi & LIGHT WEEKLY MAID SERVICE TOO!
It's been updated (granite counters, maple cabinets), but still holds all of the 1920's Spanish style charm.
Parking is street parking, and as I've experienced, other than on street cleaning days (Monday and Tuesday on alternating sides between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM), there is usually a space available close to the building.
The unit also features an on site laundry room, cable television with, plus a CD and DVD player.
You are NOT moving into someone else's place while they are on vacation. This apartment is furnished and set up as a short or long term corporate/executive rental.
Utilities are entirely included.
***In deference to those with sensitivities, this is a No Smoking/No Pets Unit. Smoking is permitted outside the unit, of course***

The courtyard setting is what gets the most comment for its warm and welcoming attributes. What could be better than enjoying your morning coffee next to the trickling fountain in the dappled sunlight that sneaks through the canopy of trees?
My Daughter & I stayed here for 5 days to see my Son how is going to school there. The location was great & felt very safe. Hubert was very friendly & helpful on were my son could part when he came to pick us up. The picture's do not do justice on the units. They are very clean and there is everything you need. I would stay again & recommend this place to anyone. We even walked to our favorite place, kitchen 24. Thank you again Hubert . Hope all is well & we will see you again!
Stayed here for 5 nights and was really impressed. Hotels in the area are ridiculously expensive so staying in an apartment seemed the obvious choice. Herbert met us at the apartment and gave us an excellent hand over with all the information and advice we needed. Very comfortable bed and a great shower, plus the air con came in handy as there was a heat wave n sept! Walk of fame was a 10min walk so couldn't get any closer really.
First of all I will say I was a little bit nervous at the start, as with everything online.
Travelled from Australia (Sydney ) Herbert was always in constant contact with anything I asked about the property, there was an unfortunate circumstance on Herbert's part but it was no issue at our side for arrival, what Herbert done was very unexpected from our view as he went over his obligation to get us in earlier, how ever Herbert delivered a perfect service to get us into the property. Herbert greets you at the room and gives you a run down of everything and answers any questions then leaves you to your own leisure.
We stayed in room 2,it was cosy enough to not be on top of my wife all the time, also the included WiFi was first class, what traveller doesn't want WiFi, super fast and no drop outs, the cable has more channels than I could get through.
The room has all essentials you could ask for on a trip, we stayed 6 nights and it was perfect for our needs, it's centrally located and with in walking distance to the BLVD and bus/train on Hollywood & Highland or Vine, as Herbert explains about parking we hired a car two days before our departure, parking around the block no problem at all.
This place serves a great purpose for the traveller who wants to venture out during their trip rather than sit around, it's perfect for kicking back after a big day at universal or pounding the LA pavement.
The other guests are very quite and do not interrupt your stay, there was a nice couple staying long term in a room, very nice people and happy to have a chat which was perfect. Having onsite laundry is perfect as well, and anyone who complains about a small charge to wash clothes certainly is not in the same planet. It's it 5mtrs from your door opposed to walking a few blocks to save a few cents, I know what we did.
All Herbert asks is that you respect the other guests and you treat his property with respect as its not a typical hotel, he asks to leave the property clean and tidy upon check out which was no problem for us. The value for money compared to other hotels is not comparable because Herbert's property is a money saver with what he provides. Myself and wife walked Wilcox at all hours and felt safe, there is a police station 2 blocks up from it.

The apartment was great. Very comfortable and it was easy to get around town. Herbert was very helpful and a pleasure to rent from! I can't wait to go back!
I got in Thursday afternoon and I suppose to meet up w/ my gf at the airport (LAX) because she was flying in from Dallas. She got caught up in several delays due to severe storms. I called & emailed Herbert to give him the heads up about the whole situation since she had the money order on her to take care of our stay. He told me to meet him at the studio apartment because it didn't make since for me to stay at the airport waiting til pretty much midnight on her flight. That's when I knew I was dealing w/ a class act. most ppl won't let you if you didn't pay up. Herbert allowed me to check-in and he suggested that he'll come get the money order the next day if that will be good for me. The place was spotless and the wifi was great. vacation or not, I need wifi. That was also a plus for me. Location was great and the community is a friendly tourist type of community. I enjoyed every bit of it and Herbert was very attentive when I needed him. I will be back soon.
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Wilcox apartments for a week in March and it was perfect for what we needed. We were traveling on a budget and were so happy to find a nice, clean, safe place to sleep for what we could afford. We walked all over the place, hiked in Runyon Canyon, walked to the Laurel Canyon Country Store (long walk but if you have good shoes makes for a nice outing), and around the touristy bits of Hollywood. Herbert was more than accommodating and just a genuinely nice man to deal with. He provided a binder full of information about the area from restaurants to try, rental car phone #'s, local attractions, etc. We never once felt like our safety was at risk, and the neighborhood was pretty quiet the whole time we were there. This neighborhood is fast becoming a 'walking' neighborhood, with most all of your needs being met without ever having to get behind the wheel (www.walkscore.com/CA/Los_Angeles/Hollywood)!
Sunset Boulevard is 6 blocks north (left as you exit the access gate onto Wilcox Avenue) of the property, and Hollywood Boulevard (which features the famous 'Walk of Fame' and Grauman's Chinese Theater, where the stars of yesteryear and yesterday have left their hand and foot prints in cement for us and for posterity) is 2 more blocks in the same direction.
You'll be walking toward the Hollywood Sign, which will come into view as you get past the CNN building that's blocking it from your front door.....
Located on Sunset, and its side street tributaries, you'll find restaurants of diverse proclivities, from vegetarian to carnivore and many in between.
FOOD WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE:
Umami Burger (1520 Cahuenga Blvd #7, 90028; 323-469-3100). Truffles are their not-so-secret ingredient. It's tricky to find because it's in....well, hard to describe the building it's in. If you walk east on Sunset (right turn if you're coming from Wilcox) then turn north (left) on Cahuenga, you'll encounter Space 15 Twenty, and within you'll find various shops and stores...and Umami Burger.
Stout (on Cahuenga), a patio bar/restaurant. They have an eclectic array of beers, AND a truffle burger.
Be sure to specify in both these places how you want your burger cooked as their default is medium rare.
Kitchen 24 (1608 N Cahuenga, 90028; 323-465-2424). It can be acoustically noisy (cement walls that magnify the sound if it's full of talkers), and features modern basic fare. If you're looking for an all around place, this one works.
Chicken Dijon Rotisserie & Grill (6282 Hollywood Blvd, 90028; 323-463-4050; www.chickendijon.com) has a wide choice of salads and wraps (upscale cafeteria; quick service and relatively healthy, tasty food) that are built around, as you might guess, chicken. Many 'locals' go here for lunch.
Urban Masala (6554 Hollywood Boulevard; 323-957-9999) features Indian cuisine and was recommended by a recent guest if you have a craving for curry.
The Melt (6290 Sunset Blvd, 90028; 213-344-4906) serves just what the name implies: Cheese sandwiches. I had the short rib on sourdough with black bean soup….delicious. Would definitively return.
La Numero Uno Restauraunt (1247 Vine Street; 323-957-1111) serves Latin cuisine. Highly recommended by a discerning guest and great reviews on Google, and well within walking distance, about 6 blocks east.

On Sundays there is an open air Farmer's Market in the 1500 block of Ivar Avenue between Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards (left on Wilcox, right on Sunset) where you can get fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. It is open between 8 AM. - 1 PM.

Zip car (1529 N Cahuenga; 323-866-4508) is an innovative company that rents cars for as little as $6.50 per hour. Great for those times when it’s too far to walk but you don’t necessarily need a vehicle full time. They have several pick up locations within blocks of the property.
Bikes and Hikes (323-796-8555; bikeshikes.com) offers bicycle and hiking tours of Hollywood, as well as renting bicycles for personal use.
