The Crane House is located within the coveted “Golden Rectangle” on a bright corner lot, 1 block from the white-sand Carmel beach and several easy blocks to the shops, restaurants and entertainment of downtown.
Enter through a beautifully landscaped garden and patio. The patio is perfect for lounging in the sun, or sitting around the BBQ with family or friends. Over-looking the entire patio and garden is the kitchen, with all the modern conveniences – gas range/oven, microwave, dishwasher, large refrigerator, and a couple of coffee pots with local favorite Peets French Roast stocked in the freezer!
The dining room also overlooks the patio/garden and anchors one end of the large living room, filled with art from the original artist, who specialized in bronzes and woodcuts, and the present owner, her grandson, who is a landscape photographer.
The living room is ready for a night-at-the-movies on the large-screen TV; board games around the large central coffee table; quiet conversation / lively debate; or a quiet time with one of the many books from the library against the west wall.
Cable TV, DVD, VCR, iPod/iPhone docking station, and wireless DSL internet access are available.
The master bedroom outfitted with a king-sized bed, is on the ground floor, next to one of the two full baths. Up the stairs to the second floor, you will find the 2nd full-bathroom and 2 bedrooms – one with queen and the other with two full size beds.
Other conveniences include washer/dryer, off-street parking behind the house, and plenty of towels, beach chairs/umbrella, linens and comforters.
Carmel is just a little over 2 hours from San Francisco; and an easy 1.5 hours from the heart of Silicon Valley. Consider an extended stay in our lovely home and experience the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula including Pebble Beach, Big Sur and the city of Monterey. Salinas—John Steinbeck territory is also nearby. Carmel Valley—wine country is only a few miles away. There’s so much to see and do, including major events such as: AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Golf championship in February, Pebble Beach Food & Wine in April, Monterey Bay Blues Festival in June, Bach Festival in July, Concours d’Elegance in August, Monterey Jazz Festival in September, Carmel Art & Film Festival in October, and more.
