Coreglia Antelminelli Villa Rental Photos and Description
Villa with 2/3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4/6, Garden, Private Swimming Pool, Wi-Fi.
This historic 17th century villa is in the medieval town of Coreglia Antelminelli, set in the hills of the Appenines in the beautiful Garfagnana region of Tuscany.
The beautifully decorated garden apartment has a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. An elegant third bedroom with en-suite bathroom is also available for an extra cost.
The large traditional Italian garden and terrace has a lovely private swimming pool.
La Penna is in the medieval village of Coreglia Antelminelli, at the end of the narrow main street. As the old village wall goes round the perimeter of the large garden, the villa enjoys a panoramic, tranquil position. The villa is actually built on the site of the ancient village castle, and some of the battlements can still be seen..
No other house overlooks La Penna, which was the most important house in the village.
Adding to the sense of peace is the fact that few vehicles can access the narrow streets of the old village. This makes the streets comfortable and safe for residents and visitors, and makes a great area for children to play and explore. Car parking is in the village car parks, outside the Wall and about 300 metres from La Penna. There are no security issues in the area.
The owner, Leonardo, will help you with your luggage if required. He has a Smart car, which can access the streets.
Things to do.: The Garfagnana is a compact area, easily accessible and superb for walking and climbing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. We have links to an outdoor activities centre who offer guided walks, world class gorge walking and mountain biking amongst other activities.
There are many villages nearby worth exploring, including Barga, famous for its art exhibitions, summer opera, jazz and food festivals. Also nearby is Bagni di Lucca with its thermal baths, elegant villas and pretty surroundings.
We give detailed local information and recomendations.
Food: The area is renowned for its good value, rustic and delicious food made using fine local ingredients.
There are 3 restaurants in the village and dozens of good family run restaurants in the area. A typical set lunch of pasta course, followed by meat and vegetables, with wine, bread and coffee, costs only 9-12 euros, and a typical main course in the evening costs 8-12 euros. delicious pizzas cost around 4-6 euros.

From the photos this villa looks absolutely perfect and I am very pleased to say that it did not disappoint. Very simple but very Tuscan. Rustic with views to die for. Leonardo the owner lives above and a nicer man you could not meet. Buy basic provisions from the supermarket in Galicano or Lucca before getting to the villa as there is almost nothing in the town, which also goes for places to eat. We chose to eat in. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a great bbq too. The pool is small but it certainly cools you down in the summer heat.
