Experience the seclusion and serenity of a rain forest in the back of Waiahole Valley with the cool stream waters, half acre koi pond, and private golf course ambiance providing the ultimate old Hawaii experience. The two story home comes with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room , bathroom, and living room with a large, flat screen TV. Upstairs are the master bedroom and bath with a stream view and king bed, along with two more bedrooms and a bath. The wrap-around deck upstairs gives stunning water and valley views. The large downstairs deck with lounge chairs is perfect for barbequing and relaxing.
I work for the Department of Education providing physical therapy for special needs children. My late husband was one of the leading landscape contractors in Hawaii and built the 9 hole golf course on our property to showcase his talents.
Christine Wilkinson purchased this estate in 1979
The property was a trout farm in the 1950's. Children from all over Oahu came to fish. We bought the property because it was perfect for my husband's landscape and nursery. He soon set his sights turning the many assets of the property into his private golf course.
Along with the cool waters of the Waiahole Stream, the half acre pond, the many specimen trees (including one of the most majestic monkey pod trees in Hawaii), and the close proximity to the ocean, it is the magnificent views of Waiahole Valley that provide such a great Oahu living experience.
Lush tropical feeling, plenty of room and close to everything! It was the perfect house, with all the right amenities. I had 3 teenage boys who thought only a house on the beach would be perfect but in the end, they can't wait to come back to this location! Thank you for providing the true aloha feeling!
House is beautiful. Clean and stocked. Owners are helpful and right next door.
For five nights our family of six adults & 1 toddler enjoyed Back to Eden with our lovely island hosts Chris & Buddy. While it is way back in the Waiahole Valley, that is also the reason one is able to relax, unwind and take a step back into the peace of a bygone era! As my husband & I both grew up in Hawaii, we were so pleased to share this island treasure with our adult family members & granddaughter. The Koi pond will mesmerize you, the Waiahole stream will lull you to sleep and the flora & fauna will take your breath away! Mahalo Nui Loa to Chris & Buddy for all their welcoming touches in the house too. We recommend this to anyone who is able to climb stairs and seeking beauty, solitude & time for R & R.
We absolutely loved this property. The owners couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. If you are looking for a place away from the hectic pace of Waikiki, look no further. Highly recommended.
Well-deserved five stars! The property is absolutely breathtaking and the hosts, Chris and Buddy, are beyond welcoming and accommodating. This place truly is an reminiscent of a secret garden tucked away in a rainforest with delightful surprises around every corner. If you are lucky, Chris will even take you on a walk to pick fresh bananas. The hosts put so much care and love into the property and instantly make guests feel at home. This rental exceeded all of my expectations. I could not give a higher recommendation. THANK YOU!!
We were two couples and it was perfect. New kitchen was very nice --even though the only meals we had were breakfast-- and we grilled one night. Since there was no cell service for us, it was nice having the computer available. Fans kept the air moving during the warm nights . The owners were next door "in case we needed them" but otherwise didn't know they were there. If you like quiet, bird watching, and peaceful surroundings, you'll love it!
Located in the very back of beautiful Waiahole Valley and bordered on two sides by the cool, clean waters of the Waiahole stream, the property is close to the many attractions of Windward Oahu, including Kualoa Beach Park, Kualoa Ranch, Polynesian Cultural Center, Valley of the Temples, and Heeia Boat Harbor. Once a golf course, the property still has two holes, including the island green on the the majestic, flowing pond filled with colorful koi fish. Avid golfers will enjoy the Turtle Bay, Pali, and Koolau courses all close by. The famous North Shore surfing beaches are only a half hour away. Historically, home for the Hawaiians was not on the beach. They lived in the valleys where the weather was appealing and water was plentiful. This secluded, private property takes you back to old Hawaii and a true Garden of Eden.
