Glenwood Springs House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)

Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms w/K in each + (2) Single beds, A Single/w trundle 1.5 Bath with Full Shower and separate tub (Sleeps 9-10)

In the heart of Glenwood, this convenient home offers plenty of living space for families looking to enjoy Colorado. Our home offers a wonderful 2nd story deck across the entire front of the house. The deck is perfect for drinking coffee in the morning, relaxing with a good book, or a glass a wine at sunset. We are located a block west of City Market, so we are conveniently located for shopping, fun at the pool, river rafting, fly fishing, and skiing at Sunlight up the valley or Beaver Creek, Vail, and the Aspen areas.

The home was built in app. 1990 in a raised ranch configuration. The upstairs area includes a great room/family room dining area and kitchen with cathedral ceiling and large window and slider doors with a view of the surrounding mountains. 2 bedrooms on the upper floor have a king bed and TV’s. The full bath has walk in shower and separate tub. The upper and lower floors are mainly carpeted with neutral berber carpet and the kitchen has vinyl flooring. The two upstairs bedrooms have large windows and private doors that open to an adjoining rear deck area with a view of the canyon toward the East. This small retreat is a wonderful little getaway to look at the stars at night.

On the base floor, we have an entry foyer that is great for storing your shoes, ski boots, hiking and pool supplies. There is a 3rd bedroom with King bed and plenty of closet space. In the rear of the first floor there is a large 2nd family room with a sectional, and single bed with trundle and single pull out. This floor has a half bath/powder room. Additionally, there is a washer and dryer in the utility room.

We are about a half block away from the Rio Grand Trail which is excellent for taking a hike into town or alternately away from town along the Roaring Fork River. We have walked a short distance on the trail, and watched the activity on the river below, watching fly fisherman on the river and enjoying the dogs at the dog park about 3 blocks away along the trail. The trail head starts appx. in Glenwood at Two Rivers Park and goes all the way to Aspen. In the morning you can take a nice little hike “out of town” and back down Grand Ave. past the Safeway and stop for a Starbucks! Or take a morning walk into town for a coffee at the Blue Bird café.

The house is not air conditioned, but the Canyon normally cools in the evening and the house stays comfortable even in the summer months. In the evening, the Glenwood Canyon offers you dry comfortable nights. In the cool weather months, we have 3 thermostats that keep the home toasty. The house has hydronic baseboard water heaters for a warm even heat.

The kitchen is fully equipped with most everything you could need. Dishes, pots galore, flatware, coffee maker etc. The dining room has a standard table to seat 6, however the kitchen island accommodates 3 and we have some extra table stored in case you have a larger group.

World famous Glenwood hot springs pool, Yampah vapor caves & massage, Aspen (45 minutes), Snowmass, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Ski Sunlight is a short distance up valley maybe a 30 minute scenic drive and offers excellent half day skiing in case you want to have a relaxed ski vacation. Vail, Beaver Creek ski areas are East off of I70 app 50 minutes drive. Roaring fork and Colorado rivers are 'gold metal waters' for fishing and meet in the town of Glenwood. Glenwood was voted '#1 Fishing town in the USA by field and stream magazine! Also enjoy the new world class kayaking and Riversurfing wave park built 5 min west of Glenwood in the famous Colorado river. For family fun visit the Glenwood Adventure park a scenic ride up the gondola and fun for all.

The Nadolskis family lives in the Chicago area. Harry a meat cutter and Hilda a lifetime cookie packer at Nabisco loved the Glenwood Springs Pool so much, that they sold their Chicago bungalow and moved to Glenwood upon their retirement. Reni & Len (niece and nephew) are now enjoying the home whenever possible and renting the property for Aunt Hilda.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 1999

Moving to Glenwood fulfilled Hilda and Harry's dream of moving to Colorado. The wonderful Hot Springs pool that is open year round was the initial draw, however the hiking, biking, skiing, moderate climate and wonderful small town atmosphere made Glenwood Springs a perfect choice. The location at I 70 between Vail and Aspen makes it perfect for skiing as well as touring Colorado. We love it so much, we know you will too!

The in-town location makes this home perfect for anyone visiting the area. Close enough for the early bird vacationer to take a walk into town for coffee and get a start on the day. We are a 5 minute drive from the pool, so you can easily come home from the pool for lunch and go back for a second swim later in the day. We built the home with large living areas to enjoy family and friends and added a front and back balcony to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The front balcony/deck spans the entire front of the house so plenty of room for the entire family to enjoy morning coffee or to relax before dinner

THE PERFECT RENTAL IN SO MANY WAYS. . . .

  • 5 of 5
We spent a week at this lovely home. There were six adults and three children. The downstairs was perfect for the family with children. And then the four adults slept upstairs in two bedrooms. The location of the rental is great; we walked to the Doc Holliday gravesite, to the nearby grocery stores, etc. The kitchen is very well stocked and this made it very easy to do our cooking. My only concern about this rental is the front deck--I watched my three year old grandson very carefully since I think he could push his way through the vertical railing supports. As I said, this was the ONLY concern I had as we stayed at the property. The unit is very spacious and was VERY clean when we arrived. We relaxed at times on the front deck and watched the gliders float over the mountain and land behind the football field; how BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Glenwood Springs; we will return to your place if we need a unit for a large group again.

Owner's Response: Thank you G Family for sharing your comments and fun in Glenwood. We so love the town and try to use our home as much as we can for biking, hiking, skiing, and visiting so many unique features the town has to offer. We take safety very seriously and our home is inspected as a vacation rental so it is up to building codes and maintains all required smoke alarms etc. That said, we always like to hear about ways to improve and make our home safe and enjoyable to our guests. We will explore ways improve safety on our deck and review childproofing our home to make your next vacation less stressful. We hope you return to Glenwood Springs and share with your friends the wonders and joy Colorado has to offer. Thank you for selecting our home and providing your review.

MOVIN' AFTER 60

My siblings and cousins were looking for a place to connect and be active, this house was perfect! Great home base to bike, hike and swim from. Personal touches included; beach towels and bags to carry swim things to pool, locked garage for bikes, games and movies. Bike path made town accessible to everyone. Lots of space to sit and relax both inside and out. Owner was very pleasant and helpful. We will return next time we want to get away to Glenwood Springs!

FAMILY PLAN

  • 5 of 5
Perfect place for multiple families. Lots of room for the kids. The 2 living areas are large as is the kitchen. The owners packet had lots of information and answered all our questions before we could ask them.
The house has everything you need for cooking and serving. (Could use a sharp knife but what house couldn't) Everything worked.
Great location. Everything is in walking distance. When we got there and went to City Market, we just pushed the cart home and then ran it back. It was easier than taking the car.
I sent the owners a picture of a deer. I took the picture while standing in the front door. I hope she posts it.
Sunlight Mountain is small but the skiing was awesome! I have never been to a ski resort with so few people there. We never stood in a lift line over 10 minutes. Usually there was no line at all.
If I could change anything at this property, I would add a second shower. With 8 of us, it was a scheduling challenge.
I highly recommend this property.
