This property is centrally located in Opelousas and easily accessible to I-49 and I-10 the two major highways in this area. This property is also close to Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, Crowley, Alexandria and Cane River. All of these towns have historically famous festivals throughout the year. Breaux Bridge has the legendary Crawfish Festival, Lafayette has Festival Internationale and Acadiane et Creole Fesitvals, Crowley has the big Rice Festival and Cane River is famous for their Christmas Celebration on the River. Cane River was the location of the filming of the movies Magnolia Steele and Fried Green Tomatoes. It is a very quaint warm spirited town of Creoles.
I chose this property because of the size of the property and the amenities included. The tennis court is professional size and there are peaceful areas all over to sit and relax. When I saw this property the huge pine trees that lined up on both sides of the house took my breath away. Also the City of Opelousas is the third oldest city in Louisiana and the culture and history is so immense its going to take many years for me to absorb. There is a huge green house where I can grow tomatoes and all sorts of herbs. It is completely private and enclosed on all sides but it doesn't disturb the space or peace. A benefit to guests is that allow events to be held on the property, i.e., weddings, baby showers, outdoor cookouts and other family events. We also have catering on the premises by Jazzy Affairs, a top notch catering services that provides anything your heart desires. We can also provide tennis lessons, craft design, earth and herbs seminars and vegetable gardening lessons.
This property is located in a small city, the third oldest in Louisiana. The culture and history here brings tourists from all over the world. There are markets and music, zydeco dancing, Evangeline downs horse racing. Activities associated with cultural festivals, boucheries and more.
