Located just 1 1/2 hours away from the busy city center in a sleepy town called Ponta Negra in the County and Marica, here you will escape the high prices and crime of Rio. This house is a newly built home with amazing views and a very nice private pool for Casa Azul guests only, rent the 3 bedroom house with the private pool or for a small extra fee add the 1 bedroom apartment to accommodate more guests. The house and apartment have AC units in each bedroom and Satellite TV with some American Channels and CNN International, as well as WiFi internet. Add the upstairs apartment for groups over 6 or if you just want more room, email us for rates to add the apartment to your rental.
The beach is a short walk or drive from this house and the locals are very friendly and love to see tourists in our little village. The local fruit and vegetable stand has the best watermelon I have ever eaten and fresh produce delivered daily by the local farmers.
Fresh off the farm coconuts are chilled and drilled for your straw all for less that 2$ US, lunch delivered to the house for less that 5$ US, all you can eat lunch at the local café 5$ US including a drink, ice cold 1 LTR Brazilian beer and caipirinhas 3$ US.
I have been in the Vacation Rental business for 13 years, I started out in Florida where i had 7 of my own beach side vacation rental homes as well as a few in Cape Cod Ma. Now I have several houses in Brazil that I rent out as well as some in Florida. I live in Brazil for about 6 months per year and have a apartment in Ponta Negra near Casa Azul. I love this area of Brazil
Clayton in Brazil purchased this house in 2010
This home is right next door to my other home on VRBO too called Casa Da Vista, so if you wanted to rent 2 houses side by side this also can be done, together we can sleep 14 comfortably.
The views from this house are amazing, that alone sold me on this property, the rest is a bonus.
We've just returned from a great visit in Rio de Janeiro and really enjoyed staying in Casa Azul. It's in a safe little town where you can easily walk to the grocery store and the beach. Casa Azul was spotless when we walked in and exactly as it had been presented to us. We struggled a little with the warm water but final got it mostly resolved. Casa Azul sits on top of a hill looking over Ponta Negra, and at night, when the winds picked up, the house got a bit drafty. Personally though, I really liked listening to the wind surround us. It seemed we should take off but clearly we never did. Although Casa Azul is listed as being within 1 1/2 hours from Rio, travelling back and forth really took more like 2 hours by car, each way, given the Rio traffic, and it is absolutely not worth attempting on a Friday. However, it is in a great location to get to many other points including Rio, Buzios, Niteroi, and Petropolis. Deborah and Renee were very professional throughout all our contact and continued to be very available to us during our whole stay and that was very helpful.
I'm an Italian woman just back from a beautiful holiday in Brazil, I was there with my husband. I spent 5 days visiting Rio surrounding, I stayed in Casa Azul for one night: it is a beautiful place to relax far away from the touristic mess of Rio. The wonderful swimming pool has a stunning view on the sea. Casa Azul is just 1 hour
away from Rio by bus or car and it could be an opportunity to relax
near the sea in a safe place!
We were very happy with this location. The views were amazing. I have many pictures of the gorgeous sunsets over the beach. The locals are welcoming. Ricardo made our trip extremely comfortable and was exceptionally willing to help us with anything we requested! Everything you could want can be found in the village which includes a nice grocery store. Though the meals that we had brought in were amazing and very economical!!! Over the weekend we enjoyed attending the towns evening street fair. We loved experiencing the real side of Brazil, not just the touristy stuff! We are already looking forward to our next trip to the area.

we've been there one month ago, two families with two children. perfect!! the beach is really close, the small village is absolutely nice, the house is comfortable, clean, nice and the spaces are just perfect for a shared holyday. we'll sure be back! and we sure reccomend it.
The house is in a fantastic location, we arrived at sunset and we were speachless!
The house is new, and all furniture, bathroom, etc all is new.
The place (Ponta Negra and Marica) is simple, safe and easy to get around, there are buses to Rio center every 30 minutes. You are in the country site, among simple brazilian people, no crime, and still close to the big city to go and explore. Ponta Negra has a long beach, and some rocky coast, for all taste, you can walk around safely, there are some very simple restaurants where you can eat cheap and genuine.
The house staff (Ricardo) lives upstairs and he is available when needed, very nice person. Ask him to organize a BBQ for you!
This is a place you can rest and get resourced, while doing a bit of excursion is Rio from time to time. Ideal for people who like to feel the real taste of Brazil , but want to be away from the turists mass. Very good experience with the manager, who explained us all in details before we go there, and airport pick up was good too. We felt taken care of, but still completly free.
This is a great little village just a 1 hour drive from Rio, walk or drive to the beach for a coconut drink or sugar cane drink, the farmer brings fresh cane and coconut daily to our beach for the best and freshest drinks you can get. Also Brazilian Hotdogs, and Frozen Fruit bars made from real fruit from there farms..... The local fisherman bring there fresh caught fish in daily to sell, doesn't get more real than this. So if your looking for TOURIST TRAP, this isn't the place for you, If your looking for a simple area where you know you are in another country without McDonalds and over priced tourist traps you found the place.... Safe away from the crime and congestion but close enough to travel into the city for day trips, far enough to get away from the traffic and noise.
