I would like to welcome you to my home: a traditional New Orleans cottage in the heart of New Orleans,1/2 Block Off Magazine Street and the Garden District, five blocks from St. Charles Avenue for Mardi Gras parades, and street car transportation down to the French Quarter or Uptown.

You will have no need for a rental car...I actually ejoy walking more myself. You can walk everywhere in this beautiful historic area! Enjoy the smell of the blooming sweet olive trees or the magnolias. Or let the famous traditional New Orleans homes steal your heart.

This 850 square foot New Orleans camel back shotgun cottage is a two bedroom, one bathroom cottage. You will be surprised how spacious it is.

My home is within short walking distance of many coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, art galleries, clothing boutiques, food markets, and specialty shops on Magazine Street. This is where the locals go and you will truly get a feel for what New Orleans is all about.

My cottage has an open floor plan with plenty of light. The second bedroom is a loft-style room for adults to enjoy. Special features include hard wood floors, many windows, lovely front porch bench, high-tech security system, central A/C and heat, high ceilings, and adorable backyard patio area for outdoor entertaining.

I hope you will love my home as much as I do. I consider it a must stay when coming to New Orleans. You will not be disappointed!

About Lisa Stutz

I am a California native that fell in love with New Orleans and moved here after the storm. I have a job that keeps me in the Netherlands 3/4 of the year. My house is in such a great location and is so unique that I just can't fathom selling it.

My friends told me about VRBO so I've been offering my home to others who want to experience this great city of New Orleans.

Lisa Stutz purchased this house in 2012

Why Lisa Stutz chose Touro

My home is a traditional two story camel back shotgun cottage two blocks from New Orleans' famous Garden District and five blocks from St. Charles Avenue. The master bedroom is located above the kitchen and there is a loft above the living room. If you truly want to experience New Orleans like the locals, this is the area to stay.

What makes this house unique

The property is very fun and unique. It was built in 1932 and has been remodeled and updated within the last 10 years. It has a relaxing feel that is wonderful to enjoy after a day of touring around the City. You can stroll the Garden District streets a dusk and see how the local community enjoys this special part of America.

The house has a security system that is monitored 24/7 and is located in a safe neighborhood so you'll feel very secure. It has keyless entry so you'll never have to worry about forgetting your keys.

I have a sweet 40' 1080 HDTV, stereo, Blu-ray player, super fast WIFI, washer/dryer, central AC, back patio deck with built in seating, quaint front bench, and so much more.

Besides being a fantastically unique little cottage, you are two houses off one of the best parts of Magazine Street in New Orleans. You are steps from the Garden District, walking distance from the Lower Garden District, and walking distance from the Street Cars that can take you all over New Orleans, including the French Quarter, Uptown, and Audubon Park.

Great house for NOLA

We loved this house! It was great for 4 adults. Walking distance to some great restaurants in the Garden District and a short 5 minute walk to the streetcar! Definitely would stay here again!

A True Gem

  • 5 of 5

This was such a fun house in which to stay! It is one block off of Magazine Street in the Garden District and there are so many restaurants and shops and even a grocery and drug store within easy walking distance. The trolley was also within walking distance and we took it to the French Quarter. No worry about parking or having a drink and driving. The house was a gem. It has beautiful hardwood floors and is a traditional shotgun home which just added to its charm. We had everything we needed including an alarm system so we always felt safe. Lisa provided us easy instructions that told us how to use the system...we received great instructions on everything about the house. Lisa was always in touch with us and was available if we needed anything. We had a wonderful stay and I would definitely rent this house again. Thank you, Lisa!

PS-I do have to add that both the bedrooms are up stairs. One is up a spiral staircase so if you have issues with stairs, this would not be the home for you.

cute and cozy place

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this cute little house in the garden district. It looks small from the front but very spacious inside with high ceilings and the two loft areas for sleeping. Great for adults and teenagers but I wouldn't recommend for elderly or little kids with all of the steps. Wish we would've had an extra day or two to explore. I would highly recommend doing a culinary class in the french quarter and taking an air boat tour to see the gators. Very fun!

Nice house, excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for 5 nights and were very pleased. The house is very clean and a good size for a family of four. The beds were very comfortable and our daughters enjoyed the loft bedroom. The house is steps away from Magazine street which has miles of shops and restaurants. We enjoyed going for walks in the early evening around the Garden District. There are so many beautiful and unique homes in the area. We ended up spending more time in the Garden District rather than the French Quarter. Even though the house is just off Magazine street the neighbourhood was very quiet and safe. We used public transportation every day. There is a bus stop a minutes walk away that we used to go downtown, the French Quarter and Audubon Park. You can also walk to St Charles avenue and take a ride on the streetcar. For families wishing to eat a few meals at home there is grocery store within walking distance on Magazine street and a larger grocery store (Rouses) a few minutes drive away. The owner of the house was very helpful and made the whole process from booking her house to checking out very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute place, Amazing location

  • 5 of 5

This home off of Magazine Street was an amazing deal in a great location. I have been to New Orleans before and stayed in the French Quarter, this time around we wanted to explore some other areas.

This home comfortably slept 5 (2 in the loft, 2 in the bedroom, and 1 on the pull out inflatable couch bed). It had everything that you would need in a rental home (linens, towels, kitchen ware, etc). The property was clean and well taken care of. Back porch is small and cozy and a great place to sit outside for with a cup of coffee. Alarm system was a little intimidating at first, but after the first day turned out to be very easy to use.

The area is literally steps away from Magazine Street in the Garden District. What a great location! Magazine Street has tons of cute shops, restaurants, and bars. It is just a few blocks walk to the trolley stop or a quick cab ride to the French Quarter.

Overall, we enjoyed our say very much and I would definitely recommend this place!

Let The Good Times Roll

1st and Foremost If and when I come back to Nawlins' , House Delachaise is where I want to stay !! My Friends and Myself came down for the 1st Weekend of Jazzfest and were just blown away by the pure Comfort of House Delachaise. The house is in my Opinion in the Best Location in New Orleans, with everything you need at the tip of your fingers ..music,food,bars,stores,seafood,etc....... The Owner Lisa was literally a text or call away to answering any of or questions and that is very hard to find when it comes to staying at a Rental Property ...So My Hats off to Lisa and Her Beautiful House , Thank You for Opening Your Doors for all to get a taste of the Garden District ,Magazine Street and All that is New Orleans
