About Lisa Stutz

I am a California native that fell in love with New Orleans and moved here after the storm. I have a job that keeps me in the Netherlands 3/4 of the year. My house is in such a great location and is so unique that I just can't fathom selling it.

My friends told me about VRBO so I've been offering my home to others who want to experience this great city of New Orleans.

Lisa Stutz purchased this house in 2012

Why Lisa Stutz chose Touro

My home is a traditional two story camel back shotgun cottage two blocks from New Orleans' famous Garden District and five blocks from St. Charles Avenue. The master bedroom is located above the kitchen and there is a loft above the living room. If you truly want to experience New Orleans like the locals, this is the area to stay.

What makes this house unique

The property is very fun and unique. It was built in 1932 and has been remodeled and updated within the last 10 years. It has a relaxing feel that is wonderful to enjoy after a day of touring around the City. You can stroll the Garden District streets a dusk and see how the local community enjoys this special part of America.

The house has a security system that is monitored 24/7 and is located in a safe neighborhood so you'll feel very secure. It has keyless entry so you'll never have to worry about forgetting your keys.

I have a sweet 40' 1080 HDTV, stereo, Blu-ray player, super fast WIFI, washer/dryer, central AC, back patio deck with built in seating, quaint front bench, and so much more.

Besides being a fantastically unique little cottage, you are two houses off one of the best parts of Magazine Street in New Orleans. You are steps from the Garden District, walking distance from the Lower Garden District, and walking distance from the Street Cars that can take you all over New Orleans, including the French Quarter, Uptown, and Audubon Park.

A Fantastic Piece of NOLA

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough good things about this property. If you are looking for the "live like a local" experience then this is your place!! I lived in New Orleans in a place almost just like this one and it made me so homesick for NOLA. You are in the middle of ALL of the action on Magazine, St. Charles Avenue is an easy walk and if you want to go down town you can catch the streetcar on St. Charles or the number 11 bus that goes right by the house! I never had to move my car the entire 4 days I was in town. It was like old times! There was plenty enough room for adult married couples. The facilities were well kept and functional, and Lisa (the owner) was incredibly nice. Thank you for letting us stay!!

Perfect location, perfect house

  • 5 of 5

I more or less lived in New Orleans for 5 years, so I am very familiar with the city. I came to New Orleans with my boyfriend and my parents met us there for a wedding I was in. The house was even more perfect of location than I realized. It was right off of Magazine in the most ideal place to be on Magazine with a grocery store a block away and plenty of restaurants and bars within 4 blocks. It isn't right on one of the main cross streets of Magazine/St Charles though so you don't have the crazy side traffic. We also walked maybe 10 minutes to St Charles to take the street car to and from the quarter on Friday night. The house is perfect for 4 adults, and/or teenage children. However I do agree with the spiral staircase being a little sketchy for small children. We never used the pull out downstairs but it seemed more than equipped enough for children. The house is ideal and perfect, and Lisa was so wonderful to move the schedule around with the maid and even let us check in a day early. I actually mentioned to my parents that if this house were up for rent, I would move back to New Orleans and live in it!

Very nice!

This house is in a great location, convenient to shopping and dining and public transportation. I appreciated that the owner agreed to refund the extra person charge when our 5th person dropped out at the last minute.

We loved this house! It was great for 4 adults. Walking distance to some great restaurants in the Garden District and a short 5 minute walk to the streetcar! Definitely would stay here again!

A True Gem

  • 5 of 5

This was such a fun house in which to stay! It is one block off of Magazine Street in the Garden District and there are so many restaurants and shops and even a grocery and drug store within easy walking distance. The trolley was also within walking distance and we took it to the French Quarter. No worry about parking or having a drink and driving. The house was a gem. It has beautiful hardwood floors and is a traditional shotgun home which just added to its charm. We had everything we needed including an alarm system so we always felt safe. Lisa provided us easy instructions that told us how to use the system...we received great instructions on everything about the house. Lisa was always in touch with us and was available if we needed anything. We had a wonderful stay and I would definitely rent this house again. Thank you, Lisa!

PS-I do have to add that both the bedrooms are up stairs. One is up a spiral staircase so if you have issues with stairs, this would not be the home for you.

cute and cozy place

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this cute little house in the garden district. It looks small from the front but very spacious inside with high ceilings and the two loft areas for sleeping. Great for adults and teenagers but I wouldn't recommend for elderly or little kids with all of the steps. Wish we would've had an extra day or two to explore. I would highly recommend doing a culinary class in the french quarter and taking an air boat tour to see the gators. Very fun!
