Garden Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

Small comfortable cottage guest house in the gardens of the main Victorian home in the heart of the Springfield MO Walnut Street Historic District.

This small cottage is perfect for one person but quite suitable for two adults (One full bed).

One Block to: University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, Hammons Field Double A baseball park.

Two Blocks to: Juanita K. Hammons Performing Arts Hall, Missouri State University, Springfield Exposition Center, Jordan Valley Park

Three Blocks to: Downtown, JQH Arena

Walking distance to many restaurants.

About John Horner

John and Pat spent several years in the restoration of main house, cottage, and gardens. But the children are gone and we now have a lot of space to spare. John grew up in the home as did his mother, grandmother, and Gr Grandmother.

Why John Horner chose Springfield

This little cottage is owned by John and Pat Horner who are residents in the main house. John is a 5th generation owner/occupant of this historic home built by Dr. & Mrs. Walter Camp in 1886. The cottage was the servant's residence. John also has his consulting engineering business in the home.

The owners are very warm people, great with making you comfortable in your stay. Having everything you need and providing you with unexpected extras. The setting is in the heart of downtown, but not too busy with the hustle of a city life. I reccomend this cottage for all. I will rent this again next year.

What a treat!

I stayed in the cozy camp cottage over Christmas this year and it was great. The bed is full sized, had quality linens and was very comfortable. John and Pat are gracious hosts, and provided delicious coffee, soft drinks, water and juice in the mini fridge. The cottage is located close to the university and central to any area in Springfield. I will definately stay here again. Thanks John and Pat!

Charmy and cozy

I selected this property due to the proximity to family over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The owners- John and Pat are great hosts and the property is quaint and comfortable. The property features were as I anticipated. It sleeps one very comfortably and a could accomodate a cozy couple ;-)!

It also very close to the downtown district which offers interesting dining options as well as a market which has a hot and cold bar and a Starbucks! Will be definitely staying there again.

New to Springfield - I needed temporary living while I was looking for rental properties

This is a quiet and comfortable cottage in the heart of Historic Springfield. Though small, this place offers all the amenities a business or vacation traveler could want. It’s walking distance from shops and nightlife. It’s the perfect place for someone looking for a taste of Springfield. I plan on returning with my wife, for a romantic night on the town.
