We are a family of five with three young boys.My husband was born and raised in San Francisco. I grow up in Ireland. We bought this home as a vacation rental and unfortunately with our young boys sports and activities we do not use it as much as we would like.
Norma Lynch purchased this house in 2010
We know you will love this house as much as we do!It is an extremely private home.Great for entertaining with family and friends. Only one mile walk to the town of Glen Ellen with great restaurants and bars.
This is a very warm and cozy home it is the perfect place to relax unwind and enjoy family and friends.
What a wonderful home this was! I organized a trip for my wife's birthday where four of her girlfriends met us out in Sonoma. We needed a house for all of us to stay in that had good location to both Sonoma and Napa Valleys, but was also private and unique. This was it! The house and property are even better than the pictures. First, it has three bedrooms with one of them having two twin beds. This worked out great for the two girls who didn't know each other that well to use so they didn't have to sleep in a double or queen together. The kitchen is awesome with plenty of room, and having two bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get ready at a more efficient pace. This property also has a private hot tub and a great outdoor sitting area for 6-8 people! There is even a swing and a basketball hoop. As for the location, we thought it was perfect. The small town of Glen Ellen allows you to get away from the crowds, but you have very easy access to both Sonoma Vineyards and Napa Vineyards. Also, you are only about a 30 min drive into Santa Rosa if you need to get to a larger city for some reason. Santa Rosa also has a number of shuttle stops that go to the airport that I was able to pick people up from. Just down the road are many little shops and markets. This house really provided the best possible authentic wine country feel. I plan to stay here again the next time I visit the area.
This home worked perfect for family get together. Nice open floor plan worked well for entertaining. Outside patio also worked well. Nice area to tour winery's. I had a lot of fun doing road biking from the house.
This home was the perfect retreat for a wine country getaway. First, let me just say that the decor is darling. The main living areas of the home were spacious and could accommodate a large group.... Even bigger in person than in the photos. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals in if you wish and there is an adorable little market nearby for everything you need! (Although we stopped just after crossing the bridge at a Safeway which was probably a little cheaper). The outdoor eating area is spacious and inviting, as well. It is definitely worth sitting outside for meals in the beautiful California weather. The bathrooms were clean and plenty of fresh, clean towels were available. Beds were super comfy!!!
While I wouldn't say that home is in walking distance to sites, it's in a really great location for driving over to the ocean, Driving across to Napa or staying in Sonoma. (We in fact did all three!). The location makes it really great to do all of the things that people may want to do while visiting the area and I think can't be beat!
Norma was incredibly generous and accommodating. She was quick to respond with questions before the trip and was sure to make our visit comfortable, checking in with us and always responsive. I will most definitely be visiting this home again if she will have me!!!! I've already recommended the home to several friends and family.
The property was very clean and located in Glen Ellen, which has a couple of foodie spots (Star has AMAZING food). The house is private and very nicely decorated. We have small children and they enjoyed the outdoor space. The Sonoma Plaza is just a short 20 minute drive and Napa is accessible as well. There is a grocery store down the road, so supplies were easily accessible as well. We had a lovely stay.
Easy to book, easy to find, easy instructions and house notes to follow. While the photos made this place look cute, it was even more impressive in person! I loved everything so much from the large table with benches, to the tile shower with a seat to all of the REALLY soft towels and linens that I actually took a lot of photos in hopes of finding a lot of the items. In fact, the fans they have throughout the house I found on Amazon and are on the way to my house! Everything we could possibly need was there, especially kitchen items. There is even a swing in the yard! Everything is a really short drive from the house. Also loved that the owner accepts dogs and the dogs had a great time as well. I would say my only complaints about the place would be that the house is on a VERY busy/fast driving street and the yard is not enclosed on any side (a gate is missing), therefore you must keep a close eye on your pups or keep them on a leash in the yard and the mosquitoes were endless, but I'm sure that was just the time of year.
Wonderful girls weekend location! The house was nicely appointed and had anything you would need for kitchen/bath, as the family owners seem to use the home frequently. The outdoor deck was very inviting - we wanted to curl up with a book and relax for a while, though it was a bit too chilly to sit outside and a tad noisy due to the busy road. BBQ was a bonus, as was the hot tub, which was much needed after we ran the lake & trails at Sonoma Regional Park just 2 miles away. The layout of beds worked fairly well for our group, though it would have been nice to have 3 queens, BUT the layout would work well for a familiy or two. The kitchen allowed for socializing while cooking and the living room furniture was comfy. We were a bit chilled on the first morning, and utilized space heaters until we realized that the heat was radiant in the floors. Once it warmed up in the house a few hours later, all was great! TV/Entertainment set up looked great, but we never actually turned it on - nice repreive! (those with families, there was a Wii for the kids). Thanks Norma, for your quick responses via text and we look forward to renting again to explore more of the area and Jack London Park.
