About Carol London
This home is owned by Tom Eaton and his sister Carol London. Tom now resides in Gloucester, Massachusetts and Carol lives in Manhattan. They still return every year to this wonderful place in Sagaponack and enjoy its unique charms.
Carol London purchased this house in 1954
Why Carol London chose Sagaponack
This property was passed down from our aunt, to our mother, and then to us, and it was the setting for some of our happiest times growing up.
Besides the great allure of the ocean and personal nostalgia associated with this property, we love that the house has lots of glass providing unobstructed views of the surrounding nature and loads of deck space for outdoor living.
The 3 1/2 acre property runs right down to the beach. We share the beach with very few people due to the distance of our path to any public access points.
What makes this house unique
The property was nothing but a potato field with only one house as far as the eye could see when my aunt purchased it and then she first built a house on the dunes in 1950s. Unfortunately that 1st house was lost in a severe hurricane, but the current house was built on pilings and set back a bit to add protection from any future severe storm surge. It is a very unique house built with the building materials from the 1964 Worlds Fair IBM pavilion. Loads of glass and skylights.
