Our family has been absolutely delighted to find adorable Flying L Ranch, a perfect spot for kids and even accomodating of our two dogs. We stayed in the Bunkhouse, which is clean and super cozy, as well as decorated like something out of a country living magazine. Traveling with an active daughter we found the ranch entertainment everything we could hope for AND MORE. There are kittens to go and visit, three friendly dogs, giant pet turtles, a ton of horses, and even two amazing parrots. Our daughter got her soccer ball out and started playing on the large lawn within just a few minutes of arriving. Even more special, Leslie was incredibly gracious and friendly as a host. We can't recommend the Flying L enough for families visiting S. Oregon & Ashland.
This is my first negative review, but you really need to know that this place is completely dirty. When we went to get ice out of the freezer, it had a layer of crumbs. There is an assortment of odds and ends (a few too many) that some might consider whimsical if they were not covered in a layer of dust. For example, there is a cabinet without glass in the doors that contains an assortment of shoe lasts which are all covered in at least a year's worth of dust. The floor molding is now covered in dust that can be seen from the other side of the room. There were ants in the kitchen, not a ton, but as a rural Oregonian I am inclined to give the owner a little slack. My out-of-state guests, however, were disgusted.
I'm not a neat-freak and am willing to tolerate cleanliness below motel standards in return for a cute place but this just didn't meet the most basic standards for habitation. If the owner would hire someone to do a deep clean a couple of times a year, this place would be nice. However, given that someone else already complained about it being dirty, I doubt that you will find it any better.
To add insult to injury, the owner charged us a cleaning fee.
This ranch house gets 2 stars because of its nice front porch. Inside it's cluttered with junk that doesn't leave room to live. No garbage disposal or dishwasher. Only one small shower to serve 4 bedrooms! We had multiple ant attacks.
The photos and description were so appealing and we were excited for our stay for a wedding weekend in Ashland. Unfortunately, things were not as advertised. We arrived in mid 90 degree heat to find no air conditioning. After complaining, 2 old window units were installed on the second day but one did not work. The inside of the drawers in our bedroom were so dirty that I was unable to unpack my suitcase. The kitchen was complete with ants and mouse droppings. The coffee pot did not work and there was no internet as promised. The outdoor hot tub looked like it had not been used in years. Very overpriced and very disappointing.
the property is very charming, with horses chickens and dogs around. nice location and close proximity to downtown ashland. we stayed in the main farmhouse which has a big yard and nice front porch to relax on. the house has 3 rooms and can fit quite a few people but only has ONE shower. the other bathroom is strictly a tub...definitely a problem with more than 2 adults.
My husband and I spent a week in Leslie's bunkhouse and we absolutely loved it! The space was very comfortable, enough space for two. There are other homes on this property for larger parties however. The bunkhouse is situated right next to the horse paddock which was awesome! We could have have breakfast outside in the sun and hang out with the horses, it was perfect! Leslie was very accommodating and welcoming and the location was great, only a few minutes away form downtown Ashland. We were sad to leave and I will fondly remember our stay here, we hope to stay there again in the future. If you love animals and nature, we highly recommend staying here, and the price is very reasonable!
