This traditional Spanish villa has been beautifully renovated and refurbished by its new owners in Autumn 2014. It is now a fantastic home-from-home featuring 3 good sized bedrooms and 2 modern bathrooms. The main inside living space has been opened up and transformed to offer a large living/ dining/ kitchen area. This creates the perfect, sociable living environment for cooking, dining and relaxing in. The kitchen has been fully modernised and features brand new kitchen equipment such as fridge freezer, dishwasher, hob, cooker and microwave.

Free wi-fi internet access is available (with your own laptop/ smartphone/ IPad), plus there is a 40 inch flat screen TV with Satellite TV, DVD player, I-Pod dock and CD player. To keep you entertained, there is a selection of books, DVD's & games. The owners have thoughtfully provided maps and guidebooks for the local area so you can plan your days out to make the most of your holiday. There is air-conditioning in 2 bedrooms, an electric fan in bedroom 3 & ceiling fans in the lounge plus radiators (for winter bookings).

You can eat breakfast on the balcony, relax in the very private garden surrounded by lovely fruit trees, cool off in your private swimming pool, play with your children in the garden, then chill out on the spacious shady terrace during the heat of the day. The owners are in the process of upgrading the swimming pool area, completing in April 2015. The photos in this advert currently show the pool as it was during 2014 so this is planned to be improved and enlarged by May 2015.

Fantastic extras provided by the owner include a gas BBQ, plus you can have fun playing table tennis, badminton, boules & darts. There is plenty of outdoor furniture such as sun loungers, deck chairs, parasol and outdoor table. Beach towels are supplied so save on valuable luggage space.

The local supermarket is only about 8 minutes drive away, and boasts an impressive fish counter and great selection of food and wine, so you can stock up on your groceries with ease. There is a cafe/ bar and pharmacy next to this supermarket and also a restaurant a little further along the same road. The nearest village (called Godelleta) with all local amenities is about 10 minutes drive away.

After unwinding and enjoying chilled out days at the villa, you may be ready to get out and explore Valencia, which is Spain's 3rd largest city. There is so much to see in this amazing city. A 'must' is to visit the futuristic City of Science and Arts (which includes the amazing Oceangraphic aquarium), Bioparc Zoo & Jardin del Turia. Valencia is full of historical interest especially as the cathedral is said to be the home of the Holy Grail. Make the effort to climb the many steps of the tower for stunning views over the city. Then take time to discover the Barrio Carman (old quarter) with its old cobbled streets, plazas and traditional café bars. There are many interesting monuments, museums & parks to discover as well as lots of art galleries. Other places of interest are the La Lonja de la Seda (the former silk exchange), the Bull ring & Mercardo (the traditional, large indoor market). Plus there is also the modern marina built to host the America's Cup as well as the old port to explore. Football fans should visit Mestalla (the home of the Valencia football team). If you don't want to drive into Valencia, it is cheap & easy to catch the train from Chiva or get the metro from Torrent.

Just off the A3 motorway (about a 15 minute drive, near the airport) is the fantastic Bonaire shopping mall. This is home to lots of outlets stores and famous name shops such as Zara, Mango, Primark and many more. There is a huge Al Campo hypermarket, lots of restaurants and fast food outlets to choose from, plus a cinema and bowling alley.

The Valencian region also has stunning scenery to explore with lakes, mountains, rural & historical towns & villages. Walkers will enjoy the Sierra Calderona natural park with its unspoilt sea views, pine forests & well marked footpaths. The Reserva Muele de Cortes is another lovely nature reserve. Closer to the coast is the Albufera freshwater lagoon & the stunning long sandy beaches of El Saler. Make sure you try the authentic paella at El Palmer which is the home of Valencian paella.

This is an important agricultural area of Spain, therefore all kinds of fresh produce is grown locally. You will see the fruit trees and grapevines in the surrounding fields and valleys. You can take a winery tour in the nearby town of Requena. Take time to visit the warm water canyon at Montanejos, admire the Navajas waterfalls, sail through the beautiful Coves of Saint Joseph or discover the historical towns of Xativa & Sagunto. Other activities on offer in the region include boat hire, sailing lessons, wind-surfing, jet-ski, diving lessons, fishing, cycling, horse riding, motor racing events & golf.

Why not experience the Spanish culture & stay at the villa during a local fiesta? Las Fallas is usually 15-19 March each year and La Tomatina .. the tomato throwing festival in nearby Bunol is the last Wednesday in August. New Years Eve is also a big event in Valencia City.

As there is so much to do in the area, car hire is essential to get the most out of your stay. It is best to pre-book before you travel the best rates. Valencia Manises airport is only a short 20 minute drive to the house. Fly here with Easyjet from London Gatwick. Ryanair now fly to Valencia from London Stansted, Manchester, East Mids, Dublin, Bristol, Frankfurt, Brussels, Dusseldorf. Some previous guests have also used Alicante and Barcelona airports as the motorway network is excellent in this part of Spain.

You will receive a travel pack before you go on holiday with directions from the airport, key information and emergency contact details, plus there is a guest manual in the villa with ideas of where to shop, eat out and places to visit during your holiday.

About Nicola Rides

My name is Nicola and I run a small holiday lettings business called Maison-Sol Holiday Rentals. Currently I manage 10 properties in Spain and Turkey. I rent this holiday home on behalf of the owners and have visited it for my family holiday in May 2013 so please feel free to ask any questions.

I have worked in sales and marketing in the holiday industry for a leading holiday company before setting up my own business, and have been renting out holiday properties now for 10 years. I am also an overseas property owner myself as I have my own holiday home on the Bodrum Peninsula in Turkey.

Why Nicola Rides chose Godelleta

This property has recently changed ownership in summer 2014 however I have managed the rentals since 2009 with the previous owners. The new owners purchased this property as it is in a semi rural location so is not isolated. This villa offers a really convenient place to stay outside of Valencia city but still provides easy access to the cultural and historical aspects of the city (as well as the shops) without having the constant hustle and bustle staying in city centre accommodation. It is sometimes nice to escape the city to a more relaxing location at the end of the day.

Valencia also has an interesting old port area and a 5 mile stretch of beach and promenade running to the north, whilst to the south of the city are stunning natural sand dunes and long stretches of sandy beaches.

The house is located a short 20 minute drive from Valencia airport which means there is no lengthy drive after getting off the place to get to your accommodation. We also have guests fly into Barcelona and Alicante as well due to the excellent road network in this part of Spain. The villa is situated about 5-6 km from the A-3 Madrid-Valencia motorway and about 7-8km from the A-7 motorway which runs north to Barcelona and up into France. The A-7 also goes south from Valencia down to Alicante and Murcia. This makes it easy to drive here from other areas of Spain or from France, Germany or other European countries.

What makes this villa unique

This house has a spacious feel to it due the open plan aspect of the lounge/ kitchen/ dining space. It enjoys its own gardens with a private swimming pool in a semi rural urbanisation (not isolated on its own in the middle of nowhere). There is a lovely, shady patio with a dining table, gas BBQ and paella pan.

Games, books, DVD's and maps are supplied for the use of our guests. FREE wi-fi internet is available so you can connect your technology to the wireless network which is great for kids gadgets or if you need to bring your laptop for work purposes. Plus to keep you entertained during your holiday, the owners have kindly provided darts, table tennis, basketball net, badminton and boules.

You can have a really varied holiday experience when staying here. Combine beach, city, rural and activities all into one holiday.

Lovely comfortable villa

We stayed in this villa during the second half of July 2012.

We found it very homely and comfortable and cleaned to a good standard.

It is in a very quiet location set in the hills west of Valencia amidst vines and orange groves. You really need a car to get around, and the garage and drive are amply proportioned and easy to access. The property is very private with locking gates.

The pool outside is fairly small but excellent to cool off in. For a small family to play around in it is fine. The poolside terrace is generous with plenty of room for sun loungers.

Inside, the villa is equiped to a good standard, with a very comfortable living/dining room with hi-fi, satellite TV and DVD player. Lots of books and DVDs if you don't take your own.

The kitchen is clean and useful enough to do decent meals in. The large fridge-freezer was much appreciated.

Two of the bedrooms have air con which I find essential for the summer months.

Although isolated amongst other villas and fields, there are a few local shops including a supermarket, a take-away serving decent local specialties and a fuel station with a decent shop.

Hop in the car and you can be in central Valencia in 20-30 mins, the beach/port in Valencia 30-35 mins and La Albufera within 45 mins. The town of Cheste is worth a look for its lovely church, small shops including a fabulous bakery in the centre of town. You'll also pass the track on your way into Cheste. In Valencia there is plenty to do, great culture, plenty of restaurants and shops,and great night life if that's what you are looking for.

There is a large shopping centre including hypermarket and fast food joints with lots of parking just off the motorway towards Valencia about 10-15 mins away.

Valencia Airport is about 15 mins away and we rented a car from there, which proved very easy.

We really enjoyed our time there and would like to return.

Well located villa with excellent facilities

For us it was the ideal location. Situated in a quiet residential district (apart form the dogs that seem to plague the whole of mainland Europe!) yet within very easy driving distance of Valencia and the other tourist spots.

The villa itself was well equipped, making it easy to self cater for a family of 5 and giving three choices of eating location depending on sun conditions (or on some days rain conditions). On the days we were blighted with rain everyone was well entertained in the villa with wi-fi access, books, dvds and games to chose from. All the beds were comfortable, the showers worked well and the kitchen equipment all worked really well (quite unusual to have a non-stick frying pan, a tin opener, a cork-screw and a set of knives that are as good as you have at home).

Nicola (UK agent) was really helpful. She had loads of useful information and was always very quick to respond. We also spoke with the pool man (sorry no name!) and Paul (who manages the property in Spain); both were very helpful so we knew we had people on hand if needed (which we didn't).

All in all it was a great holiday, and I hope we get to return to the Yellow House in the future.

We had a fabulous time at the villa. The villa was really spacious and well equipped. Outside the gardens were lovely giving lots of places for the children to play. The pool area had lots of space for sunbathing and the pool man cleaned the pool a couple of times during our stay. Very easy to get in and out of Valencia by car from the villa. Overall we had a wonderful fortnight at the villa and would recommend this as a place to stay.

Yellow house Valencia.

This is the second year in a row we have stayed at the villa.We have 3 children at varying ages from 11 to 24 and I can safely say none of them were ever bored . The villa itself has plenty to offer from pool to entertainment within including wifi for those who can't keep off of Facebook etc :-)..and air conditioning in 2 of the 3 bedrooms if it all gets a little too hot.The surrounding area is rural within an urbanisation and a car is essential.There is plenty of things to do from day trips to just going to one of the many beautiful sandy beaches. Valencia city is within easy reach and no problem to drive into the city centre.There is a supermarket less than 5mins drive and a huge shopping mall with plenty if restaurants within 15mins drive. The maintenance of the property is first class with the pool being cleaned regularly and fresh linen changed depending on the length of your stay.The property is secure with privacy all around. I really can't fault the effort that has gone into making this villa one of the most enjoyable villas we have been to.The owner has considered everything and I must congratulate him and Nicola for providing an excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa

Family holiday for 3 generations

Recently returned from a 10 day stay at The Yellow House. The house and gardens are spacious and private. The pool is situated in the well maintained garden with plenty of leisure space. The owners provide plenty of games and equipment including bikes.

The house is large with a lovely lounge area with TV, DVD's, games and books to occupy most age groups. The Consum supermarket is located approximately 3 kms from the house and stocks everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday.

You do need a car when staying here particularly to take advantage of all the attractions in and around Valencia. The beaches both north and south of the city are outstanding with fine white sand - and there are plenty to choose. If you do not want to drive in the city, you can access the it via the very reasonably priced rail network from the suburb of Torrent, purchasing a return ticket from a machine at the station.

This lovely villa is situated just a short 10 minute drive from exit 337 of A3 Valencia-Madrid motorway and is located on Urbanisation Monsec in the Cumbres de Calicanto area. It is only a 20 minute drive from Valencia airport so is really conveniently located for the airport, city centre and the stunning coastline. Please note due to the semi-rural location it is not uncommon to experience animal noises such as dogs, cats, sheep, goats and chickens.

You can chill out with lazy days sunbathing in the garden, enjoy family fun in your own pool and have a delicious BBQ. When you are ready to explore, just hop in the car (or catch the train from Chiva or the metro from Torrent) to discover Valencia City. Alternatively relax on the stunning sandy beaches of El Saler, Cullera or Sagunto, or visit the sleepy villages & stunning countryside of the inland region of Valencia.

Close to the villa, the local 'Consum' supermarket is about 8 minutes drive. This is a really well stocked supermarket where you can get all your holiday provisions for self-catering. There is also a bar/ cafeteria (Café Nelsey) and small play park next to the supermarket as well as an ATM cash machine and pharmacy. A little further along this road is the Asador restaurant. There is also the El Mirador restaurant at the El Bosque Clubhouse which is open to non-golfers/ non-residents.

Godelleta village is approximately a 10 minute drive away. This is a sleepy Spanish village with some small shops, cafes, playground, bank & chemist. The larger town of Chiva is around a 20 minute drive and offers more restaurants, shops, internet cafes & the train into Valencia. You can buy cheap, locally produced wine, fruit and vegetables from the nearby co-operatives & use them to create a delicious meal at the villa where you can dine al-fresco meal on the balcony overlooking your own private pool and gardens.

In summary, this villa is in a great location for those wanting to visit Valencia city but don't want to stay in the hussle & bustle from city centre living as well as exploring the charming places of interest in the wider region of Valencia. You can be sunbathing on the stunning, sandy beaches of Malvarossa, Cabenyal-Arena & El Saler or discovering the inland Valencian villages within a short drive from the villa. It is also a great base for events at the Ricardo Tormo GP Moto circuit (Cheste), & El Bosque Golf Club (Chiva).

Activities include: Valencia city sightseeing, Bioparc zoo, Aquarium at the City of Science and Arts, Bonaire retail outlet, sandy beaches, El Saler natural park, walking, golf, GP Moto, wine tours, cycling plus much more.

The spacious outdoor areas at the villa are a great extension of the indoor living space + the south facing graden enjoys lots of sun. Please feel free to pick the fruit (such as oranges, lemons, figs) when in season. There are lots of fun activities at the house such as boules, darts & table tennis, as well as board games & books. The 40 inch flat screen TV receives some English & European programmes, sports, news & radio. Please use the a/c & heating settings sensibly. Radiator heating is made available for winter/ off-season stays. All rooms are all on the 1st floor. There are 17 steps up to the front door then all rooms are on one level. Ground floor rooms are excluded from this advert (this part of house is for the owners private use, but they only visit when there are no guests) therefore guests have exclusive use of the house. The villa is no smoking however guests can smoke outside. For familes travelling with babies, we can provide a travel cot and highchair (free of charge).
