So head to the most unique vacation rental around, rustic and ready for you.
You and yours will have room to stretch & lot's to do.
With many dirt roads to walk you don't have to be a hiker to see it all. Just pack your bags and some groceries, ( bring your own fire wood/ or you can purchase from us.) we will provide the rest.
My husband and I have been living in the Ghost Town for 6 years now with our World Famous Terlingua Racing Chihuahua, Buckwheat. I am an Artist Specializing in birds and wildlife, my husband is a Veterinarian. He was born and raised Texan, I'm a transplant from up north.
Danilea ( Dani ) Bottenfield purchased this recreational vehicle in 2005
We, like so many, moved here because we fell in love with the folks ( nun friendlier anywhere) and the wonderful motoring roads. Great Views and handy location to it all. We came to visit and just couldn't leave.
Stay with us and experience the Past, Present and just maybe your future home away from home, just as we did. Sit on your patio enjoy a cool drink and watch the world go by. With wonderful views of the Mountains of the Big Bend National Park in the East and long stretches of open land all around, fall in love just as we did.
This was the first time I've been in an Airstream. Once I got used to the space I found it comfortable. The trailer is clean, the bed was good, and everything worked. The owners are warm and welcoming, I enjoyed my time with them. I'll take this opportunity to thank them for their kindness.
Great location, great hosts, clean digs. Watching the birds and bunnies frolic in the yard each day added to the relaxing atmosphere-would definitely stay with Dani and Sam again.
The Airstream worked as advertised and the town of Terlingua was just plain fun. The owners took care of us very well.
This was perfect for what I needed. It was clean comfortable and within walking distance of the Starlight Theater, historic Terlinguagift shops and Espresso y poco mas! Dani and her husband are great people..buckwheat was awesome! I have already recommended to famiky and definitely to friends. Hopefully next time I go it wont be cloudy and ill make sure the moon isnt out to so I can see the milky way....
This was the perfect place to stay for our Big Bend adventure! Everything about it was a fit for our needs. You had everything you needed in the airstream but it still had an outdoor camping feel with the firepit and beautiful view. I was even able to hang my hammock and sleep outside under the stars. I will be using this place for every trip to Big Bend!
The description is accurate and we would recomend the property to those who like a little adventure. It's not for everybody but if you don't mind a place with character this is for you.
Wonderful caring owners (Sam & Dani) who make your stay a joy
Close to all the activity in the Ghost Town
Sam and Dani left us a special gift at our arrival
Beautiful views of the surrounding area
The cold desert nights overwhelm the heater. Be prepared for 50 degrees at night
Making dinner is real tight inside. We should have made use of the Hobbit House
We love the charm and will return.
The Terlingua Ghost Town offers a central jumping off point for hiking, biking, motor cycling, horseback riding, shopping , galleries, live music, or watching the sun set in the east. This is an old mining town that offers, an insight into West Texas's past, our church has been restored and is often used for weddings. We love wandering the entire area and taking in the sights.
