We are pleased to offer our beautifully preserved carriage house, built in 1890, as your home away from home. Situated in the Old North End - Historic Preservation District of Colorado Springs, between Cascade and Wood avenues, just four blocks north of Colorado College and the Fine Arts Center and two blocks east from the popular Monument Valley Park and access to the City's extensive hiking/biking trail system.
There are 4 large bedrooms and 3 unique bathrooms in 2193 square feet. The home sleeps 6-8 comfortably.
Relax by the large wood-burning fireplace or in the tranquil backyard orchard with a private patio and spacious deck off the upper-level master.
Enjoy a stroll in a neighborhood reminiscent of early Colorado Springs at the turn of the 20th century, complete with stately hundred-year old trees and large, Victorian homes with ornate architecture.
The carriage house has been comfortably furnished in an eclectic style with hardwood floors throughout the main level. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, a laundry with washer and dryer, dining room with wood burning fireplace (firewood provided), living room, and a separate office with a desk and phone.
Free Wi-Fi is available, a 42” HD flat screen TV equipped with digital cable, a DVD player, and a Wii console with games and extra remotes. Netflix streaming available through the Wii.
Lighted off-street parking for 1-2 cars (other cars can safely park on the street in front of the house).
There are smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed for your safety. Recycling bins are located in the attached garage.
You will be a short distance from historic downtown Colorado Springs where you will find restaurants to fit any budget, along with museums, night life, libraries, the Fine Arts Center, the Pikes Peak Center, Colorado College, tennis courts, a swimming pool, an ice skating arena, several parks, bike paths, shopping, the United States Olympic Center and art galleries. You will be within 1 hour of a private hot springs and 2½ hours from skiing.
The house is 10 minutes away from the 5 Star Broadmoor Hotel, 12 minutes away from the interesting Manitou Springs and Incline, 8 minutes from Old Colorado City, 5 minute walk from Colorado College, 10 minute walk from downtown Colorado Springs, 12 minutes from Garden of the Gods, 15 minutes away from the Air Force Academy, 1 hour away from Cripple Creek, 1 hour away from Denver, and 15 minutes from the Colorado Springs Airport. Stay for a few days, a week, a month or more. Please make yourself at home!
