Protaras Villa Rental Photos and Description

Air conditioned 3 bedroom villa which can sleep 8 in a rural village setting.

Free Transfers from Larnaca Airport between May-October for stays over 10 days. The villa is situated in the village of Frenaros, 35/40 minutes drive from Larnaca airport. The beaches of Kapparis are 10 minutes, Protaras are 15 minutes and Agia Napa no more than 20 minutes drive. The villa sleeps 8 people and is fully air conditioned. It has three bedrooms (one has an en-suite) which will sleep 6, then downstairs there is a sofa bed which could sleep a further two guests. The family bathroom is on the first floor with the guest cloakroom on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms have large balconies, ideal for enjoying the morning sun. There is also a fully equipped luxury kitchen. In the lounge there is a leather sofa, large TV and DVD player. Outside there is a large patio area for alfresco dining or just sitting in the sun. The villa is situated within easy walk of the center of the village. Please email for a colour brochure on the villa. Included in this package is the use of a free 5 seater car along with 4 bicycles. New for 2015 pool with a Jacuzzi, Free internet and a barbecue.

The small village of Frenaros of about 3,500 people (in the district of Famagusta but not in Famagusta Town which is in the North of the island under TRNC control) is situated just out of the tourist areas of the south east corner of Cyprus (that's the Greek bit and in the EU) near to the tourist magnet areas of Protaras and Agia Napa. The advantage of being in a rural village location is you do not have the tourist prices which you get in the tourist areas. The village has 4 bars/restaurants all providing good hospitality, friendly service and good food at a reasonable cost, they also offer internet access too. The village has two banks at the last count all of which can exchange your currency, two good bakeries/cake shops along with a supermarket as well as the normal shops and coffee shops you would expect from a Cypriot Village. Close to the villa there are two small children's play areas with swings and slides etc where young children can play. The villa has a pool being built during the winter of 2014, but the Cypriots will tell you that you do not require a pool as you are surrounded by a large pool called the ''Mediterranean Sea''. For those of you who are of the active nature the area is ideal cycling countryside as it is fairly flat with plenty of farmers tracks to explore. From the balcony you can see parts of the Old Ghost town of Famagusta, which is no mans land, with hotels and houses left as they were in 1974 when the invasion of the Turkish Army took control of the North of the island. Over recent years we have been planting the garden, colourful bushes and shrubs along with fruit trees which will hopefully bear fruit soon.

Dealing with Karen & Chris was simplicity itself, even though we never actually met them, the same with Lesley & Terry, although we had contact with Terry and our neighbours Lyn & Gerry, who were all extremely helpful throughout our stay.

It makes for a relaxing holiday when you have a home from home like this to come back to after a day out in the heat, and use of Chris's car was an absolute bonus!

If you like to do your own thing,at your own pace, but with the re-assurance that help is close to hand if needed, then choose this villa.

Lots to see and do in the area with some great eating out options ( local authentic or some really nice ex-pat run places )

All in all a great break that we would recommend to anyone.

What a wonderful holiday. Only the two of us and we knew things would be quiet as we can only take our holidays out of season. We chose not to go to a resort town as we knew there would be nothing going on however Frenaros had plenty to offer and not too far to Aya Nappa, Protaras etc. What a lovely surprise when we arrived at the villa, the neighbours had been in earlier and put some heating on for us and there was a welcome pack so we could make a brew etc. Terry, one of Chris's friends picked us up at the airport and having settled us in at the villa gave us a lift to one of the local bars where we got something to eat and had a pint with him. Great already made friends on first night. Couldn't want for anything in the villa, big tv for me, nice modern kitchen for Ann, a bathroom each and one left over if someone dropped in. The other neighbours in the cul de sac were fantastic, Keith next door took me down to the racetrack where they were practicing with some quite nifty sports cars. Terry was having a fling for his birthday and invited us along, magic.

Having the car was super and we were able to get all over the place including down to Paphos where we stayed overnight.

A very special thanks to Gerry and Lynn who lookeded after Ann whilst I selfishly went "full board" at the local hospital to part company with my appendix. They looked after her when 3000 miles from home and made sure she wasn't on her own. A great holiday even with my problems, I would recommend this villa to anyone and defy them not to be impressed. Thanks to Chris and Karen for the loan of your villa and your friends over there, as I said MARVELLOUS

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind comments, we are pleased you enjoyed our villa and the Sleepy Village of Frenaros. We try to think of everything that you would need while on holiday and have tried to cover all bases.....unfortunately appendixs are out of our control, but there are modern hospitals on the island that can cope with medical emergencies. I will agree with your comments about the neighbours, you wouldn't find friendly, nicer or more helpful neighbours which become good friends if you lived another 100 years. Chris and Karen

Wonderful Villa

  • 5 of 5

The Villa was a great find, it had everything you could need from books to childrens dvd's. We went in the winter, so very cold in the evenings, the open fire was a great plus. The villa is very clean and well cared for and has all modern appliances, even a dishwasher. The neighbours were wonderful and nothing was to much trouble for them, they even pick you up from the airport and take you back for your return flight. It doesn't have a pool but when you are only 10mins away from the beach, why would you want one. There is a car on the drive for you to use, so no added expense of hiring one.

The village of Frenaros has resturants, bars, bakeries and supermarkets even a local kebab shop, there are bikes at the villa, so you can ride around Frenaros and the local countryside.

The Villa is only a short drive to Protaras and Ayia Napa where there are bigger supermarkets and shops and of course the wonderful beaches.

As we were there over the Christmas period, it was very quiet and the only downfall was the TV, you cannot get the TV programmes, so the dvds came in very useful but I did miss the news and the normal programmes. Saying that I probably wouldn't have, if we had gone in the summer, we would have been out on one of the two patios in the garden.

Would I return, defiantly. I also can only sing the Villas praises to friends and family.

Thank you to Chris and Karen for the loan of the villa and the hard work you put into making our holiday special.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. We considered satalite TV but a 5 meter dish, which you need for British TV, would get in the way if placed in the garden, we have looked into internet TV but Cyprus is lagging behind in the technology area. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday. Chris and Karen

Where do i start. Myself, husband and 2 young children 3ys & 4yr, and Dad all went. The house is fantastic, everything you could possable need or want is there. Very clean and very comfortable. Fantastic air con, which was just what you needed in the hot cyprus weather. All the grounds around the house is enclosed, so no need to worry about the kids or Grandad escaping. Set in a peaceful location. fab bakery up the road!

The beach is not far away, perfect golden sand and clear warm water. also the shops, pubs and great eating houses are all in the area. Having the car was excellient this gave us the oppotunity to visit places further away, such as pathos, and othe parts of the island.

I can not speak highly enough of the house, place, and very friendly & helpful locals. We can see exactly why Karen & Chris love it so much. Thank you.

We cant wait to return.

Lovely, clean and homley villa. It was everything we had hoped for and having the use of their car was the icing on the cake. Although the beach was a 20 minute drive it was well worth it. The bakery in the village is fabulous. As we have 2 small children we didnt venture out at night and when the kids were in bed we put our feet up and we were happy to watch dvd's and read books from the numerous of choices along with the odd glass of wine! It really did feel like home from home but with the sun, sea and sand. Oh, fantastic reclining leather chairs!!!

Fabulous home-from-home villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this villa for 8 weeks in the Spring and cannot recommend it highly enough. It has everything you could ever want for a holiday. It is furnished and fitted out to a very high quality. There are some lovely walks from the villa, through the unspoint Cypriot countryside. It is very well situated to visit North Cyprus, being only about 15 minutes from the border crossing.

The neighbours are extremely friendly and helpful, we often came home to find a bag of freshly picked oranges and lemons on the front door handle! And they are all excellent cooks too!

The shops in Frenaros are really good, especially the bakery at the end of the road.

We were extremely happy during our stay at this villa and would highly recommend it. We are hoping to return in 2012 and would certainly consider staying here again.

The south east corner of Cyprus is home to more than just Agia Napa with stunning beaches like Konnis Bay and outstanding views at Cape Greco mixed with the hustle and bustle during the summer months of Kapparis, Protaras and Agia Napa harbour and town along with their restaurants and bars which are less than 20 minutes drive from the villa. On the outskirts of Agia Napa as you approach Agia Thekla you will find one of the largest water parks in Europe, with go-karts next door
