The apartment not only has stunning views of Grand Harbout but is also just a short stroll away from the Grand Harbour Marina with its ocean-going super yachts, restaurants, wine bars, casino and the Maritime Museum; the 12th Century Fort St Angelo; and Birgu, the home city of the Knights of St John from 1530.

As a fully equipped, three bedroom home, the apartment offers a high standard of contemporary, stylish accommodation for holidaymakers seeking a quiet, relaxing holiday on the doorstep of one of Malta’s oldest, most beautiful and historic cities.

There is a large, open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room that opens out onto a sea-facing stone balcony with table and chairs.

The large master bedroom with 6ft bed has an en suite shower room. The second bedroom has a king size bed and shares a large family bathroom with the third bedroom which has twin beds and a door to the internal courtyard. All bedrooms have air-conditioning.

More info about the apartment and cleaning: The apartment is fully furnished as a family home rather than a holiday let. Its contemporary style with design classics such as a Le Corbusier chaise longue, Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona chair and Noguchi coffee table is complemented with an eclectic mix of colourful pictures, rugs and collectibles to provide a vibrant yet relaxing environment.

If you would like our cleaner to clean the apartment during your stay, you can request her to do this and pay her directly.

Airport pick up and key collection: Unless you wish to make your own way from the airport, we will arrange for you to be picked up from the airport (6km from apartment) by our preferred taxi company who will also give you the keys to the apartment.

If you wish to hire a car, you can park it in a secure parking space in the outdoor car park adjacent to St Angelo Mansions.

In the apartment, you will find an information pack containing further details about the apartment, Vittoriosa, Maltese tourist attractions, maps and bus timetables.

About Christiane Morris

I lived in Malta until I was 11 - a most wonderful, 'golden' childhood spending most of my time either in or by the sea. I have always retained a very strong emotional tie to this quirky island and we bought our apartment in 2007 with a view to retiring here. We started renting it out in 2009 and were so successful that we increasingly found that we had nowhere to say when we came out for a visit. So we bought a further holiday rental in 2010 in Qrendi.

The location is just superb - as soon as I arrive, throw open the front doors and go onto the balcony, I can forget everything else. There is always something to watch in Grand Harbour - from superyachts and super-sized cruise ships to rowing boats and the local luzzu. Even a dolphin or two if you are lucky!

What makes this apartment unique

The view - and the access to such a wide variety of places to eat and drink just on the doorstep. In the summer, we also love swimming in the sea just outside the apartment or crossing the creek and making our way round to the sandy bay at Rinella.

The apartment was beautiful and the location was perfect as my son spent most of his time in the water when we were at the apartment.

A balcony with a view

If you want to discover Malta, then this is the apartment which offers the perfect location. It must have one of the best views on the island. It's also really comfortable and roomy accommodation whether you are on your own, a couple, a family or a bunch of friends. Best of all, of an evening sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and take in the view, the atmosphere, the history and all the sights and sounds of the Grand Habour. Absolute bliss.

A home away from home

This apartment lives up to the excellent reviews it gets here. It really is a home away from home with everything you could need. We especially liked that you can swim pretty much outside the front door.

Tip if you stay here:
For just €2.80 return you can get the public ferry from Cospicua dockyard creek over to Valetta. It's a nice scenic short cruise in the Grand Harbour, the price even includes the elevator up to the city gates when you reach the Valletta side.

This is really popular with our guests - particularly for those who don't want to hire a car as it enables them to get across to Valletta very easily. And from there they can use the public bus service to all parts of the island.

A small haven of peace with splendid views.

That apartment deserves a good 4 and a half star easily; unfortunately, the option is not available.
It is perfectly located, in Vittoriosa, which in my opinion is much more beautiful and preserved than Valletta, easily reachable in a 5 minutes taxi boat trip. There is a very helpful security staff, and even though the apartment doesnt have an underground parking lot, it s easy to park nearby, under the security camera. Within ten minutes walk, you have access to all basic commodities. There is a market every tuesday morning where we found local honey, seafood and vegetables.
The flat is facing east, so you can have sunny breakfasts on the balcony, with great views over Valletta and Kalkara Creek. The location is very quiet. It's a small haven of peace.
I ve already pointed out how close the apartment is to Valletta by boat, it s about as close to Marsaskala by car, which is a fine seaside resort and not much further to Marsaxlokk, a traditional fishing village. Both serve fresh fishes.
It's also very close to the Hypogeum and the Tarxien Temples.
It's less than 20 minutes away from the airport.
Now for the not that good parts, besides the livingroom, no room has a sight ; most windows go into the tiny yard surrounded by the five stories of the building. People tend to ditch their spoiled waters there which was really a problem, particularly if you want to dry cloth there.
The dishwasher was not working well ; we always had to finish to clean the dishes by hand (some dishes had been stored dirty when we arrived).
Last minor issue, were the swimming masks, that were all broken.

All in all, I would highly recommend to rent this apartment and I am personnally eager to go back

NB :Not related to our stay in the flat, I recommend being very cautious if you plan on renting a car to the greenmotion company. Indeed, despite a displayed 120€ charge for the week, I ended up paying close to 400€ : I paid a separate insurance, since the company didn't have one displayed on the website ; then at the airport they told me that insurance was not valid, and asked me either to deposit 1500€ or pay 11€ more per day ; then they told me that I had to pay for the oil, since it was a return empty policy (it was indeed written in very small characters, that, for trips over 3 days, it was a take half full, return empty policy _ I still had to pay a full charge of oil and not half full), which is close to impossible to do considering the small distances on the islands

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry about the swimming masks - they were in good condition at the end of last summer but I have to confess that I have not looked at them since October!

Thank you for alerting me to the 'ditching of water' into the yard as we thought that this had been resolved once and for all but will now get back on to our Block Administrators as the problem is from a leaking pipe on an upper floor rather than anyone throwing water out of windows.

I'm glad that you had a good time though.

Half term family holiday

The location of this apartment is fantastic and sitting on the balcony for breakfast was great. We didn't hire a car as there was plenty to do just meandering around Birgu. We did walk to the sandy bay for a swim but mostly we just went for a dip in front of the apartment. We used the ferry to get to Valetta and the open top bus stop was also close by. The local grocery shops serve the local community but had everything we required. The only thing missing was tourist shops. The owner arranged for our pickup at the airport and the driver waited while we purchased bread milk etc in the airport shop as we arrived late on a Saturday. The property was clean and well furnished and very comfortable. We would recommend this property and would consider staying there again ourselves.

A lovely, very large apartment, with what must be one of the the best outlooks on the island. Perfectly placed, a short boat taxi to the centre of Valetta, which is transformed since we were last on the island. Plenty of local places to eat and shop for essentials. Even the music server has something for everyone. Enjoy yourselves, we did!

Loved Watching the Boats!

Our party of four stayed several nights here and loved it! The apartment is spacious and well-equipped. We watched many interesting boats come and go through the harbour. One drawback was the parking. A bit finicky, the expected designated spot was not available and we had to park on the street. This made us a little nervous, but all was fine in the end. The owner was available for help on several occasions and was very easy to work with. Grocery shops in Birgu are a bit thin on the ground, but we really enjoyed eating at nearby restaurants and cafes. A couple of times, Cargo (one of the nearby restaurants) happily prepared take-home meals from their main menu for us. Weather-wise, it was still quite hot when we were there. The bedrooms cooled down nicely at night with the A/C. Because the apartment faces northeast, there was only sun on the patio during the morning -- with the heat, this is a good thing!
Overall, we were delighted with this accommodation and would happily go back.

Vittoriosa (originally known as Birgu) is one of The Three Cities, the collective description of the three historic fortified cities of Vittoriosa, Cospicua,and Senglea built by the Knights of St John who settled in Malta in 1530 after they were thrown out of their stronghold on Rhodes. They have a unique charm and character that distinguish them from all other towns in Malta.

Vittoriosa is full of 400 year old heritage buildings including the Inquisitor’s Palace and several Auberges of the Knights of St John. Other attractions include the Maritime Museum, the Malta at War Museum and the 1,750 year old beautiful church of St Lawrence.

Unesco World Heritage Site, Valletta is just a ten minute water taxi ride across Grand Harbour - or 20 minutes on the local buses. The capital of Malta is one of the rare urban inhabited sites that has preserved in near entirety its original features. It is inextricably linked to the history of the military and charitable Order of St John of Jerusalem. It was ruled successively by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Order of the Knights of St John. The city has undergone no important modifications since 1798, the date when it was abandoned by the Knights of St John.

Grand Harbour Marina is a very popular destination with many good restaurants and wine bars and is just 100 metres from the apartment. With its superyachts and boats, it's also a perfect spot for sailing enthusiasts.
