Inn and a Half is a unique home built in 1893 and registered in the Galveston Historic Registry. It has been beautifully furnished in October 2012, providing a comfortable atmosphere while maintaining an upscale decor. This property is a unique vacation rental in a quiet neighborhood near the San Jacinto community garden. We are located only a few blocks from the Seawall and walking distance to the Pleasure Pier and Strand Historic District. We are also convenient to UTMB Medical Campus, Moody Gardens, historic homes, great restaurants and shops.

This property is rented as a 2 Bedroom / 1 Bath property, however there is also an 1B/1B Garden apartment that can be added to the rental for an additional $75/night plus an additional $50 (one time) cleaning fee. This apartment is not rented separately from the main house, so you can choose to add it for a larger party if needed. This 1B/1B In-Laws apartment is a ground level garden apartment and great for teen kids or grand-parents joining you for your stay. Originally built as a detached servant's kitchen, this historic structure sleeps 4 utilizing the the Queen size pullout sofa in addition to the Full bed.

Beautiful House!

I never really write reviews but this house was just amazing! The owner was awesome and answered any questions we had regarding the house promptly. The pictures do not do this house justice. It is gorgeous from top to bottom and friendly neighbors too. Very close to the seawall and pleasure pier. The house was well stocked with anything and everything you need.

Excellent House for Wedding Party

This lovely historical home served as the base for the bridal party, as well as the bride and groom, for our wedding weekend. It was a short distance away from all the amenities we needed: the venue, the Seawall, hotels where our guests stayed and restaurants. The house is more beautiful than the photos show. It's wonderfully decorated, has all the amenities necessary for a long weekend, and the owner was very helpful/prompt in answering questions. We had an informal lunch with family members on Saturday at the home and everyone commented on the house we had picked! The garden-level apartment was perfect for the bride and groom. We had the privacy we needed, but could also host a family lunch with both our families in the larger house/garden.

Great place!

I stayed there this past weekend and it was really great. Pictures do not do it justice, it's got a great feel to the house and it's a short distance to sea wall and strand. Everything was there that was needed and my dog loved the yard (it would be great for a dog or kids to run around in.)

Definitely on my list of places I would stay again. Spoke to Elliott once and he was really friendly. Thanks!!

I'm not much with words, so I'll just say that should I ever be back in Galveston, this location will be the very first one I'll check availability for. It was awesome. Other reviews do this place more justice than I could, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not staying here.

Charming Get-away

We stayed in the apartment unit and had the luxury of peaceful privacy and a beautiful garden all around us. The house and apartment are both beautifully decorated including modern updates which enhance the Victorian style of the house. Everything was very clean and fresh. The neighborhood is lovely to walk around and conveniently located close to the seawall. You can easily walk to several restaurants, shops or the beach. The main house has a comfortable and inviting porch to relax on. It wraps around the side of the house so you can enjoy shade or sun all day. It is accessible from the front of the house as well as the kitchen which was very convenient for cooking out. The house has a lovely fenced yard and an oversized lot. The gardens are lovely and provided a lot of privacy. There is plenty of parking on the street in front of the house if you have a car.

We are ideally located 3 blocks from the seawall and less than a half mile (walking distance) from the Pleasure Pier. We are less than a mile to the Strand and downtown historic district and nearly as close to the Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn Water Park. All this in a very quiet historic neighborhood!
