While it's our new home away from home, I grew up in the surrounding area. Crystal Lake holds many fond memories for our family. My father Harry is the property manager, who is just five minutes away in Plymouth. We're also proud members of the Crystal Lake Advancement Association. Carla Findlater purchased this cottage in 2012
Had a relaxing fall mini-vacation on Crystal Lake with another couple. Enjoyed the close proximity to hiking in the Kettle Moraine and restaurants in Elkhart Lake. The house was just as described on the website and everything was clean and well-maintained. Carla and Andrew were very easy to work with. View of the lake was stunning and we appreciated all the windows in the house since it was a little chilly for sitting outside when we were there.
very nice lake home. just needed a little time away and this fit the bill perfectly.
We had an amazing week at the Lake House! The weather was perfect and the house was beautiful and had everything that you could possible need or want. We have two boys ages 10 and 8 and they had a great time as well. We especially loved using the kayaks and paddle boat. We also went swimming and fishing daily - the water was warm and we saw (and caught) lots of fish, too. The sandy beach area was a great place for kids to play and for relaxing near the water. It was very quiet there and we felt like we had the whole side of the lake to ourselves. There was a nice firepit area for a bonfire where we roasted marshmallows some nights. We spent most of our time outside, but the boys did manage to sneak in a few games of foosball before bed which was a surprise in the basement that we weren't expecting. The week went by way too fast, we could have stayed there the whole summer. We'd love to come back again next year! :)
For a family vacation, guy or gal trip, house fits the bill! Food, drink, golf all within 1/2 mile, water and fish 20 feet!
We are coming back!
Thanks to Andrew & Carla for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home and all your help in the e-mail back & forth.
The cottage was very spacious & clean and as the pictures on the website show, it is beautifully decorated.
We mostly enjoyed watching the grandchildren playing in the sand and swimming in the clear shallow water by the shore & dock as we sat under the shade trees or floated on the many water toys provided. Grandma & Grandpa even tried the Kayaks for the first time & loved it. The upper deck was great for meals outside and the sun room with all the windows had a glorious breeze.
We did find a great Pizza place in Plymouth called DeO'Malley. It looks like a really neat town with many cute shops that we will have to come back to again sometime.
A great time was had by all & hope to come back again!
Wonderful vacation home to enjoy a relaxed "lake life" !
The house is spacious, perfectly maintained, offered a nice entertainment system & wifi along with outdoor equipment (bbq, fire pit, kayaks and more). The yard is a great hang-out area to watch the sunset over the lake. We also greatly enjoyed the small sand beach as it allowed the kids (3 boys under 10) to play and swim in the water (many houses around the lake don't have a beach but only a pier).
The owners were very helpful and responsive.
We would definitely recommend this house !
Crystal Lake is clear and warm, perfect for swimming, kayaking, boating or fishing. The lake and sandy beach is 30 feet from the comfort of the lower level of this house. There are many activities available for your enjoyment in the area. Take a day to see the World famous Road America only minutes away and known for the best road racing. It hosted the 2011 NASCAR race, the American Le Mans Series, three major Vintage Races and the SCCA June Sprints, as well as motorcycle weekend races. If golfing is your interest there are 2 beautiful 18 hole courses nearby, Quit Qui Oc and Sir Lancelot. If you are looking for a challenging course there is Kohler’s world class Black Wolf Run (host of the 2012 U.S. Women’s Open or Whistling Straits (host of the 2010 Men’s PGA). Relax after a day of fun with cocktails or a cookout on the patio. Enjoy a breath taking view of the lake off the deck. Visit the farmers market and the quaint little shops in Elkhart Lake or drive 5 miles south and visit historic downtown Plymouth. Where you can have fun playing mini golf, visit the Water Park, shop for antiques or eat lunch at an old fashioned drive in complete with car hops. If hiking or biking is of interest there are many trails just minutes away in nearby Kettle Moraine State Forest.
