Large 4 double bedroom property in fantastic country setting sleeping 8+

Croft Barn is a stone built barn, which has been converted to provide a spacious cottage home of great character and comfort. It is beautifully situated in a traditional Cumbrian village above the peaceful Lyvennet valley. There is a pub in the village a short walk away.

Croft Barn is centrally heated and downstairs comprises: double and twin bedrooms, walk in shower room with WC and hand basin, cloakroom with WC and hand basin, kitchen with electric hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer, lounge/breakfast room with TV, DVD player, CD/radio and a selection of books and games. Stairs lead to another large lounge/dining room with superb views on both sides, wood burning stove and Freesat TV with DVD player. There is another kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Double bedroom with king sized bed and travel cot, twin bedroom with two additional guest beds. Family bathroom with shower over, WC and hand basin. A stair gate is available.

Fuel, electric and bed linen are included. Three hand towel and two tea towels are provided.

Croft Barn is situated close to the White Horse Inn at the heart of the village of King's Meaburn. King's Meaburn is about 8 miles from Penrith which has large Sainsburys and Booths supermarkets with large car parks in addition to Morrisons and the Coop. Penrith has a good selection of artisan shops, restaurants and bars.

The Rheged Centre is close by with its IMAX cinema, exhibitions and shops. From Penrith there is easy access to the Lake District. Ullswater and Keswick are easily reached by car.

King's Meaburn lies above the wonderful Lyvennet valley with riverside walks to Morland, Mauld's Meaburn and Crosby Ravensworth. The White Horse is a local pub with an excellent reputation for food and beer. It holds two beer festivals which attract many visitors to the village.

The Butchers Arms is a community owned pub in Crosby Ravensworth with an excellent restaurant and bar area with pool table. Morland has the excellent Mill Yard Cafe which provides home cooking during the day and some evenings.

Slightly further afield are the George and Dragon at Clifton and Yanwath Gate at Yanwath.

From Kings Meaburn days out to the Solway Firth, Eden Valley, Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall, Alston and Hexham add options for those who want to explore beyond the Lake District.

Great for all, even in winter

A great location, with easy access to the Eastern Lakes and just a short drive to Penrith. We were here in November and despite the weather (rainy) had a great time. The house is ideal for friends/family to share as it's very spacious. We loved the little extras which were well received after a long day of climbing on the fells...

The pub down the road does great food, and it's an interesting experience hang out with the locals... if we had been staying longer I think this would have been a regular for dinner as they have a good variety on the menu :0).

Superb holiday cottage

8 adult couples booke this lakes cottage, and had a fantastic time. would strongly reccommend this property. The views are amazing a really quiet lakes retreat just what we wanted. The pub just down the road is very basic but has cracking food a does a good pint

Croft Barn is beautifully situated in the traditional Cumbrian village of King's Meaburn above the peaceful Lyvennet valley. There is a welcoming pub in the village a short walk away. This provides excellent food and beer. The cottage provides views over fields to the west of Lakeland and to the east of the Pennines. There is wonderful walking country on the doorstep through rolling farmland pastures, woodland by sparkling rivers, and open limestone fells.

Both Penrith and Appleby are short drives away and Kings Meaburn is well located to explore the Lakes, the Eden Valley, the Northern Pennines, and the Western Dales.
