Our family acquired this 86-acre estate directly from descendants of the Livingston family in 1969. Situated on the the bluffs directly above the Hudson river, the property has unparalleled views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains. The newly renovated Gate House, originally built around 1860, offers a comfortable place for family and friends to enjoy the peace and quiet of their own private retreat in the woods.
The Hudson River Valley remains an undiscovered gem, especially for New York City residents looking for the joys of country living just 2 hours away. There are endless delights to be explored in the area - local farms and pick-your-own orchards, eclectic music, theater and dance available at Bard College, delightful towns such as Tivoli, Rhinebeck and Hudson in addition to terrific hiking, kayaking and biking.
Walk the property and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Hudson River and Catskill mountains, especially vibrant at sunset. Visit the horse, pigs, sheep, goats and chickens and enjoy fresh eggs, honey from our hives and meat products when available.
There are abundant deer, wild turkeys, hawks, heron and a variety of other birds, as well as the occasional fox and eagle sighting. Bose radio has a sound dock for playing your iPod.
