Glacier Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, one sleeper sofa (Sleeps 8)

The cabin has a large modern kitchen with slate floors, wine refrigerator, and all the amenities. The dining room table expands to seat eight.

The great room living room is carpeted with a propane fireplace, TV with Dishnetwork and Showtime, stereo, couch and two love seats.

The master bedroom is spacious with a sliding glass door out to the second story deck with a view of the mountains. It has its own bathroom with two vanities and slate floors. Bedroom No. 2 also has a sliding glass door onto the deck. Bedroom No. 3 is also large. All the beds are queen size with memory foam toppers. The leather couch in the living room pulls out into a double bed sleeper sofa.

The main bathroom is huge with a slate floor and tub and shower.

There are two decks, one off the great room with a BBQ and plenty of chairs for lounging and enjoying the view. Stairs lead down to the campfire pit area. The second deck is off the two upstairs bedrooms, also with comfy chairs to relax in and enjoy the trees all around. We have a six person hot tub, and a sauna large enough for 3 to 4.

The gated community of Snowline has a clubhouse with WIFI, basketball court, tennis court, pickleball court, playground for the kids, and a small lake where kids can fish. It is a very safe community, with on-site manager who patrols the area throughout the day and night. There are hiking trails within a short distance of the cabin. The roads in Snowline are paved and perfect for kids to ride bikes.

And, we are only 15 miles from Mt. Baker Ski area!

We are lifelong Snohomish County, Washington residents, where we raised our son and daughter. We have always spent our time outside, either skiing, hiking, boating, or cycling. We love Washington and all the outdoor activities.

Owner/manager purchased this cabin in 2004

We skiied at Mt. Baker for years before we purchased our cabin. So we knew how incredible the skiing is, and how short the lift lines are! We thought we were purchasing a ski/snowboard cabin, but we enjoy the hiking and biking and the beautiful spring, summer and fall mountains just as much.

Our cabin is special because it is big enough for our family and their friends all at one time. The outside deck is a favorite for parties and BBQ's both in the summer and winter. The firepit is nice, because everyone loves a campfire, both young and old. And relaxing in the sauna or hot tub after all the outdoor activities Mt. Baker has to offer is a great way to end the day.

Wonderful family getaway

  • 5 of 5
My family and I rented the big buck lodge for a long weekend. We really enjoyed spending time in the lodge which had everything we needed. The lodge was nice, clean and well taken care of. We got to play at the big park, relax in the hot tub, BBQ on the porch and hike to the river. Great time. Thanks!

Amazing getaway location!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5
The Big Buck Lodge is a wonderful getaway vacation spot. The lodge is amazing, with awesome craftmanship. You can tell the owners have a great sense of style (love the stone cougar in the floor!!! What a welcome sight!). The hot tub was clean, the sauna relaxing and the lot peaceful and relaxing. The community of Snowline feels like a summer camp. Little cabins nestled away, a large swimming pool, and a huge field for botchi ball. Chair 9, the pizza joint / bar has live music, good food, good beer and is a short walk away. All in all, this place, is excellent.

We will be back many, many times, I'm sure!

Cabin Review

  • 4 of 5
Location was as close as one can get within being within the park at a campground (roughly 30 mins to Mt. baker ski area). The area did not have cell phone service but that is a restriction of the area. The WIFI was at the clubhouse but the sauna and hot tub worked great. There were all new appliances except there was an old tube TV in the family room that needs updating. Owner was great / patient to work with.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. Yeah, last year was the hot tub, this year will be the flat screen TV.

Beautiful cabin, pristine, felt like home after 3 days, very attentive owner

  • 5 of 5
I stayed here with a group of friends/family over Christmas for three nights and we had an unforgettable time. The cabin was picture perfect, decked out with nutcrackers, a tree, etc etc. It is extremely cosy, with nice soft carpets, AMAZINGLY comfortable chairs, lovely beds and, of course, a hot tub! The deck spaces are huge and have beautiful views of the mountain and surrounding forest.
The kitchen was well equipped with a very large oven, stove, fridge, freezer and ice maker. There was an abundance of cutlery, glasses etc.

The layout of the main cabin includes a very large bathroom downstairs (with bath/shower) and three bedrooms upstairs - one of them is ensuite. Two of the rooms share the large balcony, one of them does not. All are lovely. We had a small misunderstanding in that we thought we would also have access to the attached apartment and extra bedrooms, but this was no problem as my friend was able to use the downstairs sofa bed comfortably.

The surrounding area is very tranquil and very quiet - do not come here if you need a lot of modern conveniences, as the local town of Glacier is TINY. But it does have a liquor store, and there is a pizza restaurant right outside the Snowline community. This is a place to come to relax, get away from it all, and have a fun, comfortable time. Please note that there really is no internet and no phone signal! But we were able to use the landline phone.

The owner Sharon was very helpful and gave us a call while we were at the cabin. The place is in pristine condition when you arrive. It really feels like a home. I would love to come back here and I dream of owning a cabin like this one day!

Mt. Baker is a world-class destination for skiing and snowboarding. Many Europeans choose to ski and ride Mt. Baker. In the summertime the hiking, mountain climbing, and biking - both mountain and road - is just as spectacular. We have been on at least 10 different hikes where the beauty takes your breath away. And there are plenty of logging roads and trails for mountain biking. The beautiful 17 mile ride up to Artist Point is very popular with road cyclists. The Ride 542 competition in September draws lots of cyclists. The nightlife in Glacier is typical of a resort town, where the skiiers and boarders, hikers and mountain bikers gather to share stories. Be sure to stop at Mt. Baker Winery on the way up for some tastings of excellent wine.
