I grew up in North Florida and obtained my MBA from Troy State University. Afterwards, I lived in the Charleston, SC and Memphis, TN areas for my career . When I retired, I moved back to my Florida home. Following retirement, I became 'hands-on' during the construction of my adobe home. It took five years to complete as each block is made on site with desert sand and stabilizing concrete. True adobe building is quite labor intensive. I visit the home a couple of months a year. It's my time to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living and to visit the folks in the desert neighborhood who have become my close friends.
