Molokai is the most 'Hawaiian' of all the islands, and features a quiet, laid back lifestyle. Molokai is also home to the tallest sea cliffs, no traffic, no stop lights and miles of uncrowded beaches. Ke Nani Kai features a beautiful pool and spa area, along with two tennis courts exclusively for Ke Nani Kai owners and guests.
I must say if you are going to visit Molokai it is best to split the vacation into spending time on the east, then west side. Both sides are extremely different. The condo itself was fairly modern, and very well kept. You can see the owners have pride in this place. A big change from the Wavecrest condo we came from. Let me be clear not the Wavecrest resort, very beautiful btw, but just the condo we rented. The bed here was better then it should be, it made for some late starts lol. So many windows that supply plenty of light. And a fan that worked so well, it had to be turned off sometimes. The grounds were very large, and kept up to the highest standards, which is not easy because of the size. Pool and hot tub were never to busy, but always refreshing.
This was our first trip to Molokai, and chose this area as friends of ours were already in a nearby condo. The home was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped for the cooking we did while we were here. The interior is airy and bright, and as a corner unit, has more windows than most other condos. The curtains are awesome for privacy or to open the large sliders to allow a nice breeze to pass through. Plenty of room for our two kids, and our friends with their two kids when they visited us for dinner. Very nice to have a comfortable king sized bed and full master bathroom as well as comfortable kids room and 3/4 bath for them. We had neighbors upstairs and weren't bothered by any noise or commotion; the sound proofing is adequate. The ground level is much better for us as the lanai opens up to a big, manicured yard and is just a short walk across the lawn to the great pool, hot tub, tennis courts, etc, and about a 5 minute walk through the complex down to the beach for simply gorgeous sunset views. Lots of walking/hiking opportunities that we took advantage of every day, and not too far from town/grocery store/kumu farms. The owners are friendly and easy to work with, and ensured the condo was perfectly ready for us. For the price we highly recommend this condo.
Molokai is amazing, very low key, relaxed. Stellar beaches with very few people. Highly recommended if you're interested in relaxing and enjoying the 'aloha spirit.' There is 'nothing to do,' which we find very appealing. Yet plenty to do if you put your foot forward; beaches to explore, hiking trails, and various unique tours if you need them. It's very quiet here...
What a wonderful place to stay. We arrived on Saturday and the office person, Chris, was so helpful and accommodating. The condo was nice and close to the office, pool and had an entrance that went out to the lanai. The waves that evening were abnormally large and we so enjoyed the magnificant display! There were two couples staying in the condo and we were most comfortable with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The place was very clean and most welcoming. The main problem was that the screen on the entry door slammed very loudly every time it was opened and the upper neighbors complained. Also there was a tear in the sliding screen to the patio that allowed for flying insects to enter. We snorkeled, swam and hot tubbed every day, rain or shine. The pool was very cold though, even colder than the ocean! We had a wonderful time anyway and would have loved to have been able to stay longer. I am sure we would love to go again. Beautiful scenery and the island people are so nice and friendly.
My family and I had very relaxing stay in this well maintained, and very well equipped condo.
The unit is on corner ground level with eight foot sliders all around. The pool, hot tub, and tennis
courts are steps away out of back living room slider which also opens to lanai and grassy area.
This rental may also include a rental car (optional) which the owner will leave waiting for you at
airport or harbor, this is very convenient. The beaches are beautiful and are a short walk away.
The kitchen is very very well equipped with all utensils and amenities you could think of.
If your looking for a place to unwind, this is it... and I live in Maui.
As our second trip to Molokai, we were looking for a nice condo to rent close to beaches and snorkling. We got just that and more working with Liana to stay at Ke Nani Kai on the west side of the island. This unit could easily accomodate two couples with two bathrooms situated between the bedrooms. The kitchen has a range, dishwasher, garbage disposal, blender (essential for those tropical libations), and nice coffee maker. There's also recycling bins at the condo office a short walk away. Two large sliding doors provided for lots of air circulation in addition to the ceiling fans. The master bedroom and its foam-topped, king-sized bed can be closed off from the main living area by sliding wood doors. The tile floors throughout made it easy to keep up with the sand brought in from days spent on multiple beaches on the west side.
The unit is due for new screen doors throughout and some work on the window in the master bedroom. There's no telephone in the unit for local calls to order the fresh baked bread that can be delivered right to your condo (what a treat!) which would have been helpful since cell phone service is difficult unless you drive up to the high point about 1.5 miles east.
You'll find that the staff in the office beside the pool and courtyard area are more than gracious and happy to please for land-line local phone calls and any other assistance you might need.
For an 'unplugged' tropical vacation where you can experience the Hawaii of the 1950s,luxuriate in a blue-tiled pool and 15ft wide whirlpool, and have easy access to fabulous white sand beaches and romantic sunsets, be sure to put Molokai and Ke Nani Kai on your bucket list!
