My name is Susannah Adlington and I am a portrait artist living in Hampshire, England with my husband Michael. My father’s family have had Irish connections for several hundred years, and my parents bought Westcove House in the early 60s after coming across a 'for sale' sign whilst holidaying in the area. It was love at first sight and since then four generations of our family have been enjoying holidays here – we just love the place and feel sure that you would too. Indeed many of our guests return to Westcove time and time again – something which we view as the highest form of praise!
We purchased and restored this pair of old coastguard cottages when they came on the market in the early 1990s. Pier Cottage has a unique, magical location situated below Westcove House with its own shingle beach.
Pier Cottage is on the water's edge and immerses you in the wild natural beauty of Kerry. It is ideal for all kinds of activities such as hill-walking, cycling or writing and perfect for a quiet secluded break. Watch the seals playing on the rocks and the magical ever-changing light. As the sun sets over the Atlantic, you can nestle up by the fire, guarded against the elements and listen to the cries of the curlews...whilst you sip and Irish whiskey!
