Photos and Description of the Grand Marais vacation house rental
House, 6 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths (Sleeps 12-14)

The Lodge is just a mile and a half east of Grand Marais on Lake Superior. We have 7 acres and over 400 feet of frontage shared by the Lodge and four smaller rental cabins set back well off the road. There are four floors total. The basement has an outside entrance and bedroom with two twin beds, family room and laundry room. The main floor has a half bath living dining room kitchen and sitting room. The second floor has one full bathroom with four bedrooms with three queen beds and one full.

The third floor is a private master bedroom with bath whirlpool tub infrared sauna sitting area with two queen size beds. Cable TV and wireless internet. The property runs all the way to Lake Superior but there is a pond crossable with paddle boats or a short walk around and also the Sucker river runs along the beach. It is sandy clear and knee deep very easy to cross in milder weather.

About Craig Winnie

I first found Grand Marais in 1994 and it was love at first site on my way down the hill into Grand Marais. I relocated here shortly after and purchased Sunset Cabins in 1997. I am an avid hiker,biker and cross country skier.

Why Craig Winnie chose Grand Marais

I was drawn to the cabins and property and kept my eye on them until they came up for sale in 1997. They were built in the late 30s and were in need of major renovations. I restored them all with a traditional to the area cedar shingle siding and wood interiors. The Lodge was my dream home started in 2003 and finally finished in 2007. My family is now grown and it's time to downsize back into my smaller old home

Four years went into the making of this home from the stairway to the board and baton Master bedroom to the wrap around porch. This is great home for the larger family

Many rivers and streams for trout fishing.
