About Brian

Brian O'Keefe owns Mooretown Sawmill as well as several rental properties in the local mountain area. Born and raised in Mooretown, Brian had a dream of carving out the land and creating a successful sawmill.

His dream became a reality in 1987. Mooretown Mill is located in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Pa. near the unforgettable Rickett's Glen State Park. Here at Mooretown, we use local timber to produce a quality product.

That same product and craftsmanship can be found in all of Brian's rental properties producing a beautiful rustic feel. He takes great pride in the quality of his work and enjoys sharing that with others.

All of our renters will tell you that Brian will go out of his way to ensure your stay is unforgettable.

In his spare time (if any) he enjoys jaunts on his KTM motorcycle, and is an active member in many organizations dealing with educating the youth of PA in the logging industry; his passion and joy.

He lives at Mooretown with his Black Labs, Echo and Bear Cub.

The 94-foot Ganoga Falls is the highest of 22 named waterfalls. Old growth timber and diverse wildlife add to the scenic area. Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most scenic areas in Pennsylvania. This large park is comprised of 13,050 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan and Columbia counties.

Charming cabin on the edge of Ricketts Glen

Excellent recently renovated cabin. Right on the edge of Ricketts Glen, a quick drive into the park. ozy. Well appointed kitchen. Very clean. Stayed here for the weekend, we had a marvelous time. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. We look forward to returning in the summer, when the waterfalls have thawed. Thanks!

Great weekend get-away

The weekend was a huge success thanks to this beautiful cabin and the location. We had planned a winter get-a-way and this definitely fit the bill. The cabin was everything promised and made the trip very special.

I would not hesistate to reccomend to anyone to stay here and I am confident that they will be just as happy as we were for our special weekend.

Great place to escape and set out on adventures

Bryan's cabin was a great escape and provided all the necessary amenities for comfort and convenience. The property is well kept and the woodwork inside makes this a cozy cabin indeed. The cabin being so close to Rickett's Glen State Park allowed for us to get a good day hike in to see the waterfalls, even in the middle of winter. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to escape, relax, and enjoy some time away with your special someone. My girlfriend really enjoyed the cabin and was eager to try it out, since my first suggestion was camping :).

Thanks for a great time and allowing us to bring in the New Year at the cabin, Bryan.

Great Gateaway!

My wife and I were looking for a nice play to get away to where we could spend some time relaxing and exploring the Poconos area. I don't think we could have found a better place. The cabin was excellent! We had a great time watching movies and sitting by a fire after a long day of hiking through Rickett's Glenn. We also explored some of the wineries in the area enjoyed a candle light dinner by the fire while drinking some local wine. The kitchen was well equipped to accompany all of our needs. I was a little worried about whether or not a coffee pot was there, but there was one. The cabin is great and we plan on coming back!

Wonderful cabin near Ricketts Glen

Just a wonderful cabin. Beautifull restored in an all wood decor it is a place right out of a travel magazine. Everything is provided (right down to a bag of chips and salsa as a welcome!). Even a nice personalized note from the owner welcoming us!

The cabin was SPOTLESS and tastefully appointed in a rustic decor. Everything worked perfectly. A really nice place to spend a few days. Only problem was we could not stay longer!

A great value, too. Very reasonably priced.

We'll be back!
