About Lisa Martin-Eatinger

I grew up in Iowa near here and enjoyed the family picnics at the state park. My extended family is still in the area! We now live in downtown Chicago, and this retreat is a great escape from our hectic lives.

My family has been enjoying Lake MacBride since it first opened. My grandmother told me about her experiences growing up and enjoying the lake so she made sure to bring her children. My mother has great stories of Lake MacBride and the Coralville Reservoir and she made sure to bring me and my brothers! Now a fourth generation, my own daughters, are growing up with peace and tranquility because of this fabulous property.

Oh, where to begin!
This place was a little slice of Heaven...so relaxing, so close to town but still remote & secluded even with the friendly neighbors next door. A beautiful house that provided everything! We walked down to the beach and hiked around the shoreline rocks. Our hosts (Lisa & John) were available when needed via text & phone to answer questions and made renting this house such a breeze! We look forward to renting from them again in the future :)

Excellent experience!

We stayed for a long weekend and met up with some friends. The house is beautiful, well stocked with cooking equipment and the property is lovely. We walked down to the lake in the winter all three days we were there and enjoyed the gorgeous view from the kitchen and loft. The design and feel of the house is wonderful and a great escape.

We drove into Iowa City two of the three days, and it is an easy and pretty drive. The kids enjoyed seeing the farms as we drove by.

The owners are very accommodating and easy to work with - I highly recommend staying at this one-of-a-kind property!! We hope to return soon!

Great Stay, Peaceful and Nice Place

Lisa a very helpful and great host. She doubled checked to see if we had the right lockbox code, and even let us stay a extra night because of a snow storm, but we declined since we left a few hours early. The cabin itself was very nice. We walked in and we both thought it was great with a open layout and knew we would like it. It was a peaceful stay and we give it 5 stars. Hopefully we'll be coming back soon! Thanks Lisa.
