My husband and I spent months and months searching for just the right apartment for our first trip to Paris, which was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. When I found this one, we both fell in love with it. We spent 8 days there and it was just perfect for the two of us. The neighborhood is residential, not touristy at all and very peaceful. We really felt quite comfortable there, and everyone we met was quite friendly and helpful. The Carrefour grocery is just a few feet down the street. The Centennaire cafe on the corner is lovely - we ate there twice even though we vowed not to do any repeats in our dining! The apartment is less than a block from the Filles du Calvaire metro station, and there are several wonderful bakeries (boulangerie and patisserie) within walking distance where we got our baguette and breakfast pastries every day. The Cirque d'Hiver is just up the block, and there's a lovely small park right next to the Metro entrance. You have no need for a car, although I'm sure using the Velib system would be lots of fun if you'd rather do that than the Metro. The courtyard is lovely and as others have said, makes it a nice little hideaway. The apartment itself has a comfy bed, plenty of storage, a nice little kitchenette and the shower room is just wonderful. (The WC is in a little closet off the kitchen area, in case you can't see it right away! We loved this little feature, too!) All in all, a perfect little hideaway for a couple. :)
We loved our stay at this comfortable little Paris apartment. Though the apartment is quite small, it was designed perfectly and had everything we needed including a nice kitchen space. The apartment overlooks a quaint courtyard, so even though you are in the middle of a busy neighborhood, you would never know it! And the area is far from touristy, which is another plus! The apartment is located close to several metro stops. It is so easy to get anywhere you want to go from here. From our research, you can't find a much better place for the price, as Paris lodging can be quite expensive. We definitely recommend a stay here...you won't regret it!
We stayed for five nights in this beautiful hideaway. The location is perfect-- situated between the Marais and 11th arrondissement. The photos accurately show the apartment and it is perfect for two people to spend a lovely holiday in Paris. Olivier was very helpful when we arrived and even more helpful in extending our stay when our flights were cancelled due to a snowstorm in the US. I would agree with the previous commentators quote: "The apartment is very well set up and has great closet and under bed storage. Larger apartments and houses we rented during our six weeks in France had much less closet and storage space than this apartment. The bed was very comfortable. Although small, the kitchen amenities were adequate for our meal preparation needs."
We loved the apartment, and we definitely recommend it to others.
We stayed for five nights in this lovely apartment. The listing accurately depicts the apartment location, and the photos reflect the apartment's appearance and amenities. It was very clean and well-maintained. Olivier was very helpful and met us at the apartment building within less than five minutes after we called to tell him we had arrived. He showed us how the combo washer/dryer works, but there is also an instruction book in the apartment. He was also very responsive to our emails and texts about the apartment.
As noted by others, the apartment is very well set up and has great closet and under bed storage. Larger apartments and houses we rented during our six weeks in France had much less closet and storage space than this apartment. The bed was very comfortable. Although small, the kitchen amenities were adequate for our meal preparation needs. Olivier brought us a fan in case it got hot (the three windows are southerly facing), but we did not need it.
There was no street noise at all in the apartment even though we had the windows open at night. One of the residents on the other side of the courtyard had a party one night that was a bit noisy, but it finished up by midnight.
The apartment is conveniently located close to a supermarket, metro stops, markets, cafes and restaurants. We liked that the area is not touristy but that it was easy to get to the main tourist sights by metro, bus or even walking. We recommend getting the Paris Arrondissements booklet (available at Tabac shops or newsagents for about 5 or 6 euros) for navigating around Paris. It includes a street directory, metro, bus and train maps, and detailed maps of each arrondissement, which include metro and velib (bike share) locations.
The apartment was very good value and we definitely recommend it to others.
We are a retired married couple and stayed here for 7 weeks. Just finished reading the other 3 reviews and agree with all that is said. Yes, the washer and dryer work, notwithstanding different from our Canadian w/d's. Totally liveable and quiet. Very bright. Central courtyard pretty. Had no issues at all. Very close to Metro and always felt safe walking around. Lots of places to eat and drink and shop. Love being close to Market on Thursdays and Sundays near Bastille-8 minute walk. Would definitely recommend to family or friends or anyone wanting that "living in Paris" experience. If you are here more than a week, get a weekly Metro pass, the station attendant will help you set it up. Went out last night to "How to become a Parisian in one hour", a one man comedy show. Don't take your kids, but a fun way to get a feel for Parisians. And it is on Metro line 8, our Metro line. We used "City Walks" app and Paris Metro (MX) app to plan every day for walking around.
You won't be disappointed. (We left 3 umbrellas in panel box by front door for next users-yep, rains a lot just as in Vancouver!

This studio is meticulously maintained in terms of cleanliness and functional amenities, which are simple and tasteful. There is a feeling of lightness and space due to the thoughtful design, high ceilings and large windows overlooking the quintessential Parisian courtyard. Olivier was a tentative, dependable host, mindful of the guest experience. The location is a foodie paradise as the neighborhood is buzzing with activity and boasts some of the best neo-bistrots and local wine bars in Paris within a few minutes walk. Overall analysis- a balance of form and function with a good spirit.
