BEST VIEW IN PORT ANGELES: THE BLUFF HOUSE

Port Angeles House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6)

The Bluff House is the perfect vacation home. The home has a huge, stocked gourmet kitchen and three comfortable bedrooms each with its own private, full bathroom, ideal for three couples or a small family wanting to explore Port Angeles and the Olympic National Park. The panoramic ocean view is incredible and visible from almost every room in the house; both sunrises and sunsets are visible over the water. The house is located on a 100ft bluff, set just 40ft back from the water, so there is no better view available anywhere in Port Angeles, period. Turn around and there is a view of the Olympic Mountains looming above Port Angeles.

The location of the house is perfect for visitors. It is close to the Olympic National Park, the Discovery Trail and the downtown area of Port Angeles. It is just 4 blocks from the Victoria Ferry, 2 blocks from the Discovery Trail, 1 mile from the entrance to the national park and 5 blocks from shopping and restaurants. Your hosts can help with trail and sightseeing information, and any concerns or questions that may arise when planning your adventures on the Olympic Peninsula. Look at the Photos and read the comments. The photos are all taken by us from the house itself. If anything, the house and view are better than the photographs depict. The bluff house is the nicest vacation home in Port Angeles, perfect for a small group of up to 6 people. You will love it and want to return. 4 day minimum in the summer and 2 day minimum October-April. Shorter stays permitted in the summer only if book-ended by other guests.

Suitability:
  • non smoking only

An avid hiker and enjoyer of the outdoors, I love this area, it's people and all it has to offer. My husband and I just remodeled this property and just about every inch of it is brand new.

Cindy Clark purchased this house in 1990

We bought this piece because of the amazing view but it was too small at the time for our family. Now that our kids are gone we have doubled the size of the house and made it cozy for when they return with their families.

The mountain view from the south and the water view from the north make this a unique piece of property. Eagles perch in the tree out front and the water is full of activity all the time. The kitchen has a separate wet bar, everything you need for the discerning chef and beautiful serving pieces to make you feel at home. The lights of the harbor are an enchanting sight at night and in the winter months, nothing is cozier than sitting in the warm front room watching the weather unfold in front of your eyes.

We chose Port Angeles/Olympic National Park for our annual family vacation in 2014

  • 5 of 5
The title says it all - "the best view in Port Angeles" The house is beautiful - spacious - we are a family of 6 with 2 small children (parents and grandparents) - the kitchen has everything a gourmet cook would need, we loved it! Even though we did a lot of hiking, took a whale watching tour, we had a hard time turning in at night due to not wanting to miss anything - boats (the traffic going by in the distance - binoculars were provided) and wildlife (we had deer and a family of raccoons stop by on several mornings) , you could see everything from this house - huge deck and lots of windows. There are several restaurants within short walking distance (Downriggers is our favorite). Hiked several trails in Olympic National Park - just a little over 17 miles away. This was actually a home away from home. We didn't want to leave. Cindy, thank you for providing such a wonderful place to enjoy while exploring.

Spectacular views and great location!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I booked the Bluff House for the second half of our 10th anniversary trip and invited my mom to join us. The house is large, spacious, and comfortable with a wonderful kitchen and large windows looking out onto the Juan de Fuca Strait. The back of the house has a beautiful garden with a small path running through it to stop and enjoy the flowers. The location of this house was perfect for the kind of day trips we were doing including Ediz Spit, Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge, Hurricane Ridge, Ruby Beach, Lake Crescent, Hoh Rainforest, and Victoria, BC via ferry. Cindy, the owner of the house, was very accomodating during our stay there. On our last day, she even offered to let us check out a little later in the day since she had a full day between guests. That was perfect since we hadn't had an opportunity to see Hurricane Ridge during our trip due to cloud cover and we had a lot to do before heading home to the east coast. If you decide to stay at the Bluff House, two restaurants I would highly recommend are Michael's and Kokopelli's. Both have excellent food made with locally caught seafood. The Bluff House is a wonderful place to stay and thanks to Cindy for such a wonderful experience staying there! I will highly recommend the Bluff House house to everyone I know!

Fabulous house

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at the bluff house during our family vacation. The view from the back deck is amazing. The house is very spacious and extremely clean. We couldn't be happier. The owner is extremely helpful and thorough, providing a great deal of information regarding things to do in the area. The house is a great launching point for exploring Olympic National Park and Vancouver Island. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the bluff house to anyone looking for accommodations in the area.

Excellent stay @Port Angeles

  • 5 of 5
We found this house online, liked it a lot, called up Cindy and booked right away. Cindy was one of the nicest person I have talked to and very accommodating. We arrived late after midnight and she didn't mind at all at those late hours handing off the key. Kitchen was very clean, and bedrooms are really big and comfortable. She had all appliances in the kitchen and we need not worry about carry anything. Also the lake view is just fabulous, and loved early mornings sunrise and mountain views. This is the best cabin I've ever stayed :)

The Bluff House exceeded expectations!

  • 5 of 5
We just returned from 4 days and 4 nights at the Bluff House. Our party was 5 adults - my husband and I, our two grown kids and an adult friend. We were looking for a place to stay so we could day hike in the park. Except for the fact that it was hard to tear ourselves away and hike, the Bluff House was ideal. We easily reached the Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, Elwah River, Sol Duc and coastal beach areas of the park for various hikes. The views from the house are unreal. You are looking across the Ediz Hook at Canada. You can see Mt. Baker at a slight right and the port and town of Port Angeles to your left. A bald eagle landed in the tree by the deck while i was drinking coffee. We quit counting the humming birds. You can easily walk to the trail at the foot of the bluff and walk into Port Angeles by that route, or just walk on the paved trail. The house itself is large and spacious. It would easily accommodate three adult couples. The kitchen, dining and living area is large and comfortable, and all bedrooms are large. The kitchen is FULLY equipped. Last, but not least, Cindy was the nicest owner I have dealt with after years of renting through VRBO and other sites. She really wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and had a good vacation. Well, we had a great vacation - and how often do you leave knowing that you will actually remember not only the national park, but the HOUSE where you stayed?

Relaxing Christmas Break!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Bluff house the end of December. The house lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The views go on forever from a relaxing setting in the living room and dining room. With access to WiFi we were able to keep track of the ship traffic coming and going in the busy harbor out front. The Coho ferry was dressed up with Christmas lights that was also enjoyable to see cruise in each evening. The weather was pretty mild for the time of year and we were even able to walk a couple of blocks away for dinner one night. There is no need to eat out with the well stocked kitchen of quality cookware for anything you would want to cook. Even a nice griddle came in handy that fit over the gas burners on the stove, making breakfast a snap! The beds were very comfortable and the house quiet for a great nights sleep. There are large flatscreen TV's in each bedroom along with the one in the living room great for watching DVD's or football bowl games. There are grocery stores near by, coffee shops, and antique shops downtown. The house is centrally located for fun day trips....and there are many to chose from. Pt. Angeles is also a great place to go birding. We added several to our list of new birds for us. The bald eagle did drop by for a visit on a few occasions along with some deer. We very much enjoyed our trip and plan on returning to Bluff House!

There are wonderful restaurants and unique shops just blocks away in downtown PA. The Olympic National Park has limitless opportunities for adventures in nature. It has lakes, ocean beaches, tide pools, mountains, trails and some of the most incredible forests in the world. The 100+ mile Olympic Discovery Trail is 2 blocks away, offering endless distance for biking or running. (We have an official marathon every June). There are several marine sanctuaries in the area where sea life is on full view.
