Face Book Maui Kai 805 -

Unit 805 is in the center section of the building on the eighth floor. This one bedroom unit consists of a lanai “outdoor patio”, living dining room area, complete fully stocked kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom. See photos to compare floor plan of narrower units. New Sleeper sofa March 2013.

The Maui Kai amenities include heated pool, lounge sunning areas at pool and beach side of building, gas grills, cabana with full kitchen, internet computer for emails and boarding pass printouts, covered picnic tables for guest use, and laundry facilities.

My home is fully furnished and has a complete kitchen; everything you need is in the unit to make complete meals. A supermarket is a short walk or drive back out to Lower Honoapillani Rd.

The Condo has cable TV with HBO, CD Player, Ipod player, 50” Plasma TV in living room, 32” LCD TV in bedroom, King sized bed in bedroom, and makeup desk in bedroom.

The building has central air conditioning, not all buildings on Maui have ac the Maui Kai is comfortable regardless of the weather if on a warm night a cool night’s sleep is desired.

Many of our guests never feel the need for Air conditioning and enjoy leaving the windows open to listen to the ocean and feel the breeze. The Maui Kai is off the main road and traffic noise is nearly nonexistent when the bedroom windows are open. When the lanai doors are open all that is heard is the soothing sound of the ocean surf.

Having air conditioning and no road noise will assure a restful sleep and a quality vacation in the Maui Kai 805.

It’s the perfect condo: Quite with a private lanai on the 8th story you are able to look down into the clear water and watch turtles and fish. 5 feet wider than most condos the extra space makes a difference it feels open and spacious.

Ten minutes from Lahaina and just a few from the restaurants of Whalers Village. Not to far from anything and the best unobstructed views of the ocean and outer islands on Maui

What a great location!!!

My wife and I just returned to Canada from our stay at Gary's condo (-40 wind chill). We can't overstate how much we enjoyed everything about the unit. The view was beyond belief, the condo itself is in terrific shape and all the ammenities are provided to help you feel at home. We particularly enjoyed the ability to prepare our own meals.

The view from the lanai is simply amazing. I can't tell you how many hours we spent sitting and watching the whales go by. All day every day you didn't have to wait long to see them put on a show.

The condo building is located close to anything you could want or need. It is also a great springboard location for doing any excursions throughout the island. We are already planning our return trip to Hawaii, and you better believe this unit is at the top of our list.

Location Location Location!
We have stayed in many condos but I have to say this was one of the best equipped I have been to. From the first time I spoke to Gary I felt comfortable renting from him. The condo was just as the photos show, extremely clean and comfortable. We went to Maui to view whales and was not disappointed, they were spectacular from the lanai. Gary has a book listing some of his favorite places to eat and visit, we tried many of them and were very happy we did. We did a whale watch with Pacific Whale Foundation and could not have chosen a better company. Just walking around the condo was peaceful and enjoyable. Hope to go back same time next year. Thanks Gary for sharing your home.

What wonderful accommodations we enjoyed

My wife and I stayed 10 nights in the most wonderful place in the Hawaiian Islands. Our communications with the owner, Gary, could not have been better. His information was as if he knew every question we were going to ask before we asked it. The place was spotlessly clean.

One thing to be aware of in the Kaanapali area of Maui…Times Market. It is your typical non-chain grocery store and it is close buy. They have just about everything you would ever need during your stay, the prices are what you would expect to pay in a resort area, some high but most reasonable. The narrow isles added to the fact it is frequented at all times by drivers (of shopping carts) coming from many parts of the world (thus different levels of courtesy) making for the most wonderful of people watching, all at slow speed.

But enough about Times Market, you just have to experience it.

The condo is on the 8th floor. The elevators are quick and the workers are friendly. If there was something we needed during our stay Gary had already anticipated it.

The whale watching was virtually continuous. Sometimes a half mile away oftentimes closer. Three sets of binoculars are available, one powerful pair on a tripod made for hours of viewing. The whales knew people were watching so they put on a show. Another attraction was the sea turtles. We could easily see them from the lanai swimming back and forth in front of the Maui Kai. The best time was when one decided to swim just a foot away from my wife. They are truly gentle giants.

We did the tourist stuff and always looked forward to coming home to Gary’s condo. A short walk on the beach brings you to Duke’s, a great place to have a toddy and contemplate the day as well as the next. Their food is fine but there are other places to enjoy. Marcos Grill and Deli comes to mind if you like Italian.

There is no question in our mind this is a top spot and location to vacation in.

Great Front Row Location!!!

As VRBO condo rental owners ourselves (#92729) we have high expectations. We weren’t disappointed. Everything is as advertised as well as being fresh and clean. Newer furnishings and cabinetry; fully accessorized with all you’ll need to enjoy your time here. We left the windows open every night to hear the sound of the crashing waves, I haven’t slept this well in some time. The location is so convenient, close to shopping and dining. The Times market which is a short walk, has all you need in a grocery store. We walked 2 miles down the beach to the Sheraton and back every morning, several times stopping at the Castaway Café for breakfast on the deck. Duke’s on the beach is a short walk for dinner or appetizers at the bar. This unit is right on the water with an expansive ocean view. You don’t need to go on a whale watching tour, you can see everything from the lanai with the high powered binoculars provided. We can’t believe a week has already passed. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Maui Holiday at the Maui Kai 805

My husband and I recently spent two weeks at suite 805 of the Maui Kai and it was everything we had hoped for! It was amazing to walk in and the room was exactly as depicted in the photos on line. There was ambient lighting, music playing and a lovely basket of goodies waiting for us along with a welcome note. What an introduction! We noticed immediately how clean and immaculate everything was. We had such fun exploring every drawer and cupboard to find everything one could want in a well maintained condo. My husband, who did all the cooking, was delighted to discover every little detail one would need in a kitchen was not overlooked. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well with the a/C turned off and the screen doors open with the ceiling fans on. Like other reviews, it was soothing to hear the ocean waves crashing on shore. Of course the views from the large lanai did not disappoint! To say this condo has ocean front views is an understatement! One is literally overlooking the surf. The pictures are exactly what you see! And it is very private! We spent early mornings on the lanai - before the sun rose and gazed in awe at the glorious display of stars. Later in the afternoon, at sunset, the views again, were breathless. Dealing with Gary was a dream and he was very pleasant and accommodating. We felt he really cared. Restaurants, grocery stores and shopping malls are all within easy access. We walked down to Duke's one evening and drove into Lahaina to Ruth's Chris Steak House and took another short drive up to Kapalua to have sushi at the Ritz Carleton - each one first class. This was our first experience renting a condo on the Hawaiian Islands and we couldn't' be more impressed. We enjoyed snorkeling in the surf, but also loved the pool and the quiet atmosphere. We would definitely stay at the Maui Kai and specifically suite 805 again and would highly recommend this property to anyone who is considering a condo in West Maui.

Maui Kai is the closest condo to the ocean in Kaanapali, Hawaii Magazine 2013 voted Ka’anapali it’s number one shoreline spot for Whale watching. This is the place to sit on your lanai and see whales. Lahaina is 10 minutes away by car. Historic Lahaina Town offers a myriad of Restaurants, Bars, Art Studios, clothing shops etc.

Also the Lahaina Marina offers Parasailing, Scuba and snorkeling trips, cruises, sport fishing, dolphin watching, whale watching trips in season.
