This beautiful, sunny home offers wonderful comfort, privacy, indoor-outdoor living as well as great walking accessibility to the Marin County villages of Larkspur and Corte Madera. Very nearby are hiking trails, walking and bike paths, public tennis courts, cafes, restaurants and much more. Highway 101 is just a mile away with the Golden Gate Bridge 8 miles to the south and Sonoma/Napa Wine Country less than an hour to the north.
Put on your walkin' shoes or jump on your bike; head to the end of the short lane, turn left and in less than a mile you're in adorable downtown Larkspur where you can have a morning caffe latte at the award-winning, authentic Italian Patticceria Rulli, do a little shopping at the many boutiques and galleries; cycle on the bike trails, take a short -- or long -- hike and picnic on Mt. Tam. As the sun goes down you might want to have a Happy Hour cocktail at either The Left Bank, (a French bistro) or The Tavern at Lark Creek, (a Bradley Ogden restaurant). You could choose one of these spots for dinner or perhaps Picco for small plates or pizza or Fabrizio for pasta.
OR, you could turn right at the end of the lane and have breakfast or lunch at the Corte Madera Cafe, then go next door for a treatment at the luxurious Stellar Spa. Happy Hour could be spent at Rick's Wine Cellar followed by neighborhood Italian fare at Benissimo's or great pizza at Stefano's.
Our recently remodeled home is ideal for two couples or two adults traveling together. (Sorry, no children or animals.) It has two stories, extensive decking and a fully fenced, mature garden that includes a stand of redwood trees. The many flowering plants bring daily visits from hummingbirds and often fawns can be seen frolicking behind the fence from the master bedroom.
There are two bedrooms, an office, two full baths and one half bath/powder room in the home. The main living floor contains the living room and dining area, powder room, kitchen, office/library and master suite. French doors lead from the living room to the 'outdoor living room'. Weather permitting, this large, wonderful, private deck provides a place to read, visit with friends, as well as have cocktails and meals. The deck wraps around the house and is accessible from the master bedroom, as well.
KITCHEN: If you like to cook, this is your kitchen!!! There are granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, double ovens, a Wolf range top with heat lamps, all of the spices you can imagine and a pantry with almost any staple you will need. All-Clad LTD pots and pans are also provided. Outside is a four-burner Weber Summit gas grill. There is also a large collection of cookbooks from which to choose your recipes. Nearby are daily farmer's markets, awesome gourmet grocery stores, Whole Foods and excellent super markets.
MASTER SUITE: Contains a Cal-king size Tempur-Pedic bed, flat screen TV and a patio door that leads to a quiet garden deck with morning sun. The en suite Carrera marble master bath is a wonderful spot after a day of hiking, biking or touring Marin, Napa or San Francisco. It has a large spa shower, double sinks, heated mirrors, heated towel racks and in-floor heating.
OFFICE/LIBRARY: This custom designed room boasts two comfortable workspaces as well as an extensive library of books to borrow and read during your stay. File drawer space can be provided upon request.
GUEST SUITE: The downstairs of the home is devoted to a large, private and very comfortable guest suite. There is a sleeping area with a queen size bed, dresser, desk and chair. The seating area has a love seat, club chair, flat screen TV and walk-in closet. The bathroom has a large shower, lots of storage and in-floor heating. There is also a separate entrance, so privacy is complete.
ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS: There are four TV's in the house -- flat screen HD sets in the living room, master bedroom and guest suite as well as a small set in the kitchen to keep the cook entertained. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. Apple TV is installed on two of the TV's.
