On the wine trail and close to all the outdoor activities and lakes. Just 1.5 miles to Giant city, 15 minutes to carbondale and SIU. This is not a small uncomfortable rental cabin.
The home is a real log and timber frame home built in 2010. With a large deck and screened sun porch you can relax and enjoy the views and sunset. 2000 square feet with 3 bedroom, loft full full kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms. Its a rustic location but a luxury home. Sleeps 6-8 comfortably. Two Queen bed, One king bed and queen futon in the loft, can also sleep two kids on the large daybed sofa. We have a fire pit and wood outside for a nice campfire.
We have moved temporary and are sharing our dream home until we return.

You will not find a more relaxing place to stay.
Real Log and timber frame construction, cathedral ceilings and enclosed porch, large deck. Outside you have a professional gas BBQ and fire ring. Complete privacy and quiet.
Stayed at this cabin last weekend with 5 friends. The cabin is very nice and clean with plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. This place is right in the middle of the Shawnee Wine Trail! Great location, which made it very easy to travel to all the wineries. This place is perfect to go "glamping", rustic and very secluded, yet you still have all the modern amenities. The fire pit was great for the evenings, as well as the balconies for morning coffee. Very well situated on the property, which made for beautiful views!
This cabin was wonderful - just like it was advertized and the photos were accurate. Very well equipped kitchen and plenty of room for 6 of us. It was nice to have 2 1/2 baths. The views from the wrap around porch and also from the screened in porch were beautiful. Also later on Saturday night could sit out and hear the music from one of the closest wineries - very nice. Great cabin & great location out and away from things but also close enough that you can easily drive to wineries, lake, Giant City State Park, etc! Would definitely recommend to others
This is my second trip to this beautiful home. We went with 2 other couples and had a wonderful time. The home has everything you need and is nice and cozy. I love the deck off the back and the view. We will stay here and plan on making it an annual event.
The home is very close to Giant City State Park and numerous other trails and lakes in Southern Illinois.
Excellent place to stay for the money.the road entering is very dusty but once there the cabin is wonderful. It has every thing you need.We had 7 people and we were all comfortable.Great place.
A beautiful home located in Makanda. We rented the cabin as a corporate rental. It was spacious, and remarkable. We were close to work in Carbondale and on weekends convienant to the forest , lakes and wine trail. The house was well stocked, having everything we needed, plus grill and we were there for a month . I read previous reviews about the water , but have no idea what the fuss was about. The water was fresh and purified drinking water was provided. By far the most wonderful surprise was the wildlife. We would drive in after working all day and slow for a herd of deer or flock of turkey..and we never grew tired of the surprise they were. It thrilled us every time.
Robyn was professional and easy to book with .. I highly recommend this cabin, you will love it !
This Southern Illinois cabin is extremely well furnished and maintained. Was perfectly clean upon arrival, and for those who like to cook the kitchen is well equipped. Location is approx ten min drive from Carbondale toward some great wineries and town of Makanda, Giant City/Little Grassy areas. This is very convenient for those of you who may not know area well. Description and pictures on website are very accurate. Shawnee Zip line tours about 30min away if you drive slowly. If you have larger party the master room is on main floor with two bedrooms upstairs and plenty of quiet for everyone. The outdoors grill works fine, although it appears as if it may have taken a tumble off the deck at some time. The back screened in porch is missing two screens, but those are truly the only visible discrepancies with this great cabin. I would highly recommend and will rent again when available.
On the wine trail and one mile to giant city park.
Just a few minutes drive to the new Shawnee Canopy tours ZipLine adventure Zip through 83 acres of Southern Illinois' Shawnee National Forest.
